Ravens fifth-round TE Nick Boyle has made "far more plays" at training camp than second-rounder Maxx Williams. Boyle also appeared to play ahead of Williams in Baltimore's preseason opener. The college-to-pro transition for tight ends is as difficult as any position, and all signs point to Williams coming along slowly. The Baltimore Sun questions whether third-year WR Marlon Brown will make the 53-man roster. Brown missed a huge chunk of camp with back and hamstring injuries, and beat writer Jeff Zriebec says Brown "hasn't looked right" since returning, playing "extremely tentative" and getting very few reps. Apparently there was a scuffle between the Ravens and Eagles in the joint practice today. I don't know which players were involved.

Ravens coach John Harbaugh confirms Breshad Perriman's (knee) MRI came back normal, but that the first-rounder is still dealing with swelling. Harbaugh called the rookie wideout's injury a sprain. It's unclear when Perriman might return to preseason action, but his Week 1 status doesn't yet appear to be in doubt.
