Not even mad we missed the playoffs, we did it to ourselves. The way our offense has played all year, frankly, we didn't deserve to make it. The disparity between our offense and defense is remarkably bad and it's not even a talent issue, offense has pieces but poor execution and poor coaching would wreck any unit.
I agree, should've won vs. Redskins, Jets, Giants and Raiders. Hopefully, this sparks constructive change in the off season - not just more of the same. Only sad part is Smitty (likely) retiring without a ring.
As I see it, we desperately need to upgrade the pass rush. Furthermore, adding talent in the secondary and O-line wouldn't hurt.Â
The Greatest of All-Time in my eyes, Joe Flacco! Just know there are 3 levels of Flacco. Tell your friends and enemies.
Level 1 - Casual Flacco (Week 1-10)
Level 2 - Mighty Flacco (Week 11-16)
Level 3 - Fiery Flacco  (Playoff Flacco aka god status)
Beware of Fiery Flacco. He doesn't forgive. He doesn't forget.
Just read an article in SB Nation that reported that Joey Bossa will hold out if drafted by the Ravens. The reason given--he harbors resentment toward Jim Harbaugh and Michigan. I wonder how accurate this story is. Certainly the Ravens are aware of this development.  Â
As a football fan, I just want to see the Patriots lose, whether it is to Peyton, or to a possible SB rematch to the Panthers. Brady's whining losing face is priceless lmao
Moving Webb to FS could be a homerun with a full off-season at that position to get ready, could also be a complete bust but what do we have to lose at this point? Our FS play has just been terrible the last two years.
I always liked his ball skills, can't get worse than Elam and Lewis.
Wright has been decent at CB, and didn't Will Davis show some stuff before going down?
According to many in the draft forum Ramsey and VH3 are hyped/boom bust. We might be better off trading back and taking Alexander/Fuller. Who knows, ultimately it'll be up to the scouts and the FO.
silver linings for this Debacle of a season? 1) #6 draft pick 2) 3rd place scheduling next year 3) extra month of rest not bein in the playoffs 4) realizing changes need to be made;no more short cuts. any others?

That being said, with a top 10 pick. No need to go based off of necessity doing what Ozzie loves best is BPA, at this point an OL could be BPA or an OLB/DE. But DB has a deep class with sleepers.
I agree, we have some pieces at WR (Sr.*, Aiken, Butler, Givens, Perriman*, Matthews).
Z. Smith has also done things lately in the rush department along with Timmy.
Shareece Wright has also looked decent lately imo.
To me we have a serious need for a ballhawking safety, Kendrick is NO GOOD! Maybe we can get Webb to move there, otherwise I'd sure like Ramsey in the first.
As the way its shaping out next year we will have steelers bengals browns twice dallas ny giants philly and washington the jets bills phins pats chiefs and one of the afc south teams ... any thoughts
Hold your horses. Most of us thought the secondary would be better this year, and that we'd be in the playoffs again.
Like others have mentioned, top draft picks aren't a guarantee for success, and something needs to happen with the coaching staff, something is and his been off for some time.
I don't think we can just automatically assume anything about next year, when we're coming of an abysmal season such as this current one. Only thing that's for sure is that...
You want to know what sucks? In this upcoming FA period we won't have ANY money to get anyone. I REALLY wanted Kendal Wright so we didn't have to worry about receiver until like r3
Happy People. You're getting Bosa/Ramsey/VH3...
Well, there's pretty much zero chance at the playoffs at 9-7. Had they won tonight a 10-6 record (and possibly a wild card berth) was still technically a possibility.
This has just been a horrible year so far, I've made my peace with it. We just struggled and lost to (possibly) the worst team in the league.
It is what it is, better things ahead.
We're either the best bad team or the worst good team and I just can't decide which.
I'd say the latter, we started the year with a (seemingly) very talented roster. Injuries have taken their toll, but so have miscommunication and poor coaching. Last year we almost beat NE at home in the playoffs, we're still pretty much the same team (missing a few players but have also gotten some back from injury etc.).
Off topic - I sincerely hope Smitty will return for the final year of his contract so we can send him out in a proper way next season.
Your time has come, Kamar. Make me believe.
Don't care who it is but listen up NFL teams! Save us from the G.O.A.T. talk about this cheating Patriots club! Please!
i wouldn't mind a low draft pick...with the pick we should get either Ziggy, Jared Goff, or Vernon Hargreaves
Many people on this forum like to think Flacco is great if not Elite, yet they claim he needs to play batter. He's now in his 8th season and he still consistently makes bonehead plays. He is what he is at this point, only problem is the money he is being paid.
We need to keep Flacco imo, but at a lower rate.
Pass rush or FS in the first round, whoever is most dominant/game changing.
