  1. Bold prediction: next season Perriman erupts for 75-80 rec/1000-1100 yards/6-8 TDs.
  2. Could you briefly explain the main differences between power and zone blocking schemes to a noob such as myself? I believe we (effectively) used power blocking during the super bowl run, and then for some reason decided to ditch it the next season in favor of zone blocking? Cheers
  3. Word, although Wright played out of his mind the first 2-3 games IIRC. Good question, obviously the FO is aware of this and they obviously know more than we do. We should consider that there are talks with Mangold (and perhaps Dunlap) behind the scenes. Furthermore, we should see at least one OL drafted today. UDFA should also contribute along with unproven guys currently on the roster. I'm comfortable with a mix of Dixon/West/Woodhead.
  4. Perhaps Chase Roullier at center.. 3 picks remaining seems inadequate to properly address our needs, we need to hustle during TC cuts as well.
  5. Cheers mate, I know Kaufusi got injured. Shouldn't have mentioned him, that's hypocritical since I've had Perriman's back through his injury. However, Correa is legit imo. We needed pass rush last year as well, and we draft a project in the second - his production taken into account he should have been acquired 1-2 rounds later. Also, most rumors seem to project him at ILB these days. Btw, I'm not an Ozzie hater at all. Actually really like our FO, but sometimes I just wish they would address need over BPA - just once in a while at anemic positions. We really have no speed off the edge, no one jumps into the backfield.
  6. Sorta like last year's pot of pash rusher: Correa and Kaufusi? Correa was a crazy reach imo. We desperately need some speed outside. One of Williams/Lawson/Bowser/Willis should be available at 47 and we need to pull the triggah.
  7. That's fine, then we focus on getting the best pass rusher in round 2. I'm all for that! Take Lamp if he's there, otherwise let's get a QB slayer.
  8. We likely wouldn't get a rusher who could impact the game though. I'd prefer drafting a good rusher and interior OL with the next two picks, and then signing a vet LG/C to bolster the line.
  9. Wasn't going for a hostile vibe - more of pretentious/preachy on a la all the draftnik's who think they know best. Either way, no offense intended sir. I still do believe that o-line and edge rush should be adressed before wr. Even if we manage to sign Mangold (old, injury prone). Perhaps: -Lamp/Robinson and Williams/Lawson/Bowser -Williams/Lawson/Bowser and Elflein/Feeney/Pocic After those two positions I'd like a WR as well, maybe ArDarius Stewart mid 3rd?
  10. Is he a better/more savvy route runner than Smith Sr. was last year (you could also add Pitta here)? Will he improve pass protection allowing Flacco to make the pass? Will he boost the run game further increasing Flacco's chances of thriving in the pocket? I believe the answer to all those questions is a resounding no. We need OL and edge rush WAY before WR. Belie' dat.
  11. Round 2: Forrest Lamp/Tim Williams/Jordan Willis/Carl Lawson Round 3 #1: Pat Elflein/Dan Feeney/Carl Lawson/Ryan Anderson Round 3 #2: ArDarius Stewart/Isaac Asiata/Desmond King
  12. Initially I was pretty neutral on the pick, but I'm actually getting excited about him. If/when Jimmy goes down CB-position would be screwed - Marlon shores this up. Oz tried to trade up (possibly for Barnett, Hooker, etc.), but there were no takers. He considered trading down but the value wasn't there. We have so many TE's including a 2nd rounder from a couple years ago - the cream has to rise to the top there. IMO CB has been more critical for Ravens than TE lately. Agree, they need to recreate the conditions present during the last Super Bowl run. Providing Joe with PROTECTION so he can actually deliver precise passes. His primary passing weapons we're: - Boldin (savvy, strong but slow), that's the type we need to find. Possibly vet FA acquisition, maybe the man himself. - Torrey Smith, Perriman will be 5-10x what Smith was/is + we have Wallace/Moore as well. - Pitta who's still on the roster + Williams has to start producing.. please (also Gilmore, Bouyle, Waller, Watson) - Raymondius Rice. I'm confident in a mixture of Dixon, West and Woodhead. Also, the run game was good during the SB run, further relieving Joe of pressure - just a nice synergistic effect for the man under center. He's never gonna be Aaron Rodgers, protection and running game is KEY for this offense - not WR with our top 3 picks. Next 3 picks should be a mixture of pass rush and Oline imo. Was Lewis really terrible? D'you think he'll do better at tackle?
  13. I think there's reason to believe Breshad can be that guy. Can't wait to finally see him healthy and getting his shot next season. I think we'll be fine adding a JuJu/Kupp/Switzer-type WR. Besides, we have a ton of TE's and a couple RB's to throw to as well. Doesn't matter how good the weapons are, Joe needs to deliver the ball to those weapons - if we're talking deep routes he needs time and comfort in the pocket. That is not guaranteed with Hurst to his right and similar mediocrity at center. If we stay put at 16 we should get the best rusher, likely Barnett who just seems like a very safe prospect who would step right in and contribute. Reddick could also be in play here. Otherwise try and trade back a handful of spots and bolster the offensive line. Build from the trenches ya'll.
  14. 3 WR's seems a bit rich. I like the first 3 picks though.
  15. I'll have to check out the old school uniforms - you mentioned year 2000? I agree with the "uneven-ness" - looks cartoon'ish in a way. Has there been any talks of updating the uniforms, or is it just wishful thinking?
  16. It would be fantastic if things panned out this way, but as mc_red alluded to Sidney might not last until the third. Davis could be gone as well... Anyways, needs are perfectly filled with tremendous talent and potential!
  17. Hadn't thought of that, might be easier. The depth effect is definitely my biggest peeve, closely followed by the gold outline. I wouldn't be opposed to a major overhaul, I've grown a bit tired of the current look. Denver's font is aight but I still prefer Pittburgh's.
  18. I'm definitely on board with matte helmets. I would also like to see them change the number font - those numbers are ugly imo (depth effect, gold framing.. ugh). I might get booed for this, but the number font on the Steelers' "standard" jerseys is very nice - clean and minimalistic. PS. I liked the all purple color rush this past season, should be included in the rotation.
  19. Not to mention his propensity for bone headed penalties. Let's assume the FO knows more than we do, which is not really a stretch by any means.
  20. Based on draft boards around the internet, I felt like making a simple mock draft, with "multiple options". Here goes: Round 1, pick 16: Taco Charlton (DE - Michigan)/Haason Reddick (LB - Temple) I see pass rush as possibly the biggest need, and I don't see us signing anything in FA whereas there seems to be opportunities with regards to WR and CB. Round 2, pick 47: Taylor Moton (T - Western Michigan)/JuJu Smith (WR - USC) We know how important OL is, and I've heard good things about Moton on these boards. Some have likened him to Osemele coming out - not too shabby if that's the case. If we don't sign a Boldin/possesion-RZ WR in FA, we could also draft JuJu here for that purpose. Round 3, pick 78: Sidney Jones (CB - Washington)/Cameron Sutton (CB - Tennessee) I think we address CB in FA, and Jones's value is pretty darn good if he's here. If we want immediate help at CB, someone like Sutton could be an option here. Round 3, pick 99: Nico Siragusa (G - SD State)/Rasul Douglas (CB - West Virginia) We either continue to beef up the line or we double dip at CB. Also, Douglas could possibly switch to safety if needed. Round 4, pick 123: Tyler Orlosky (C - West Virginia)/Anthony Walker (ILB - Northwestern) We probably won't draft 3 OL's in the same draft, but depending on the earlier rounds in this draft Ozzie might decide to go with a C here. If not, we could use competition at ILB, were I think Correa might also be in the mix.
  21. Thanks for the advice Rossi. I'm 100% on board with Barnett, it's just not likely according to most mocks. Let's get rush, CB, WR and OL with the first 4 picks.
  22. Cheers Rossi, I used a big board off of NFL.com - I'm too new to the game to do my own scouting. I just HOPE AND PRAY Ozzie gets us some pass rush in rounds one or two. It's so frustrating watching opposing QB's having all day to throw!
  23. Cheers guys, makes sense.
  24. How is it the Browns have +100 mill to spend, and the Ravens are always against the cap? Is it purely because they don't have an expensive franchise QB? They're spending (recklessly) hoping that something will turn around their franchise. As long as their QB carousel is in full swing it seems unlikely that they will reign in the north. You know there's a cap right? Money is tight in Baltimore as usual. I think we'd all love to acquire Marshall, Mangold, Zeitler, Jefferson and Claiborne whilst retaining B Will, Wagner and Juice. Heck, let's add Alshon and/or Pryor while we're at it.
  25. Please just get a playmaker in the first, and one of CB and edge rush would be lovely! Same goes for the second round, we/Ozzie can't afford to continue whiffing on high picks. Stanley, despite struggling with some injuries, played the part of a first rounder last year - although maybe not 6th overall? KC - I sincerely hope he shows something this year, and Kaufusi hmm... Let's get 3 homerun picks this year for a change - the first, second and third round
