  1. It's his knee though isn't it?
  2. Me three, would also love to sweep the Steelers but I think I'll go with a split there (each team takes home game). I'd like my Ravens to go 12-4, but I'll settle for 11-5.
  3. Coulda woulda shoulda, we still got the better team
  4. Smitty's visor is badass, actually he's just badass in general!
  5. My banner would read: "Stay off the field Tomlin!" PS. We HAVE to get Smitty a ring! No one deserves it more.
  6. Forsett is jacked yo (looks small in pads imo) and BP needs to stay healthy! Also, can't wait for camp footage!
  7. Howeveeeeerrrr.... Elam has turned the ship around and is tearing it up with 30 tackles, 5 INTs, 4 forced fumbles and a pick six. Not too bad for 8 games (fingers crossed)
  8. That's a good point, but once January begins it's a " new season". Given the current organizations track record (making playoffs 6 of 7 possible) and Joe's badass play in January, I'd say the Ravens are in a good position. As long as Trestman can keep the offense going, that makes for a balanced team with top 10 offense + defense along with a proven QB in his prime. I like that better as a formula for success (i.e. Lombardi's galore) compared to the defensive minded Ravens teams in recent years. It's also much more fun to watch imo... don't get me wrong though I also love me some smash mouth football.
  9. And we all know news reporters are authorities when it comes to football technique... or maybe not. Maybe we should blame the (clueless) coaching staff at UCF for not correcting these things? Just like Maryland coaches didn't seem to mind Torrey's body catching... Anyhow, coaching at the professional level (along with veteran mentorship) has done wonders for many a player. Here's to Breshad working his behind off and becoming an absolute stud by year 3! Go Ravens!
  10. Of course he wasn't, that would imply him catching 0% of his receptions with his hands. That's obviously not the case, but let's assume he caught 75-80% of his receptions using his body/arms - I'd say that still makes him a predominant body catcher. PS. Love Torrey to bits and I can't wait to watch Perriman soar by his 2nd/3rd season.
  11. He's been intriguing in limited snaps, he's just constantly injured. Too bad, will D. Carter take his spot as slot/(punt)returner? Haven't seen/heard much about the Sacramento kid.
  12. Def Smitty, love that guy. I hope we manage to get him a ring, so he'll be eternally grateful for his time in B-more!
  13. That's probably a good point, I mainly just watch the Ravens. I remember a time when Flacco, under great pressure, would try to make stuff happen instead of throwing it out of bounds. This often resulted in INTs. This may be a problem of the past though...
  14. Just to be sure, I wasn't bashing Joe in any way. And you're right, Rodgers has great targets around him. But still every time I watch Rodgers play, I'm just amazed at almost everything he does: great accuracy, strong arm (balls come out like bullets - looks like the fastest thrower/most velocity on TV imo), great vision, hardly ever makes mistakes, good on his feet as well... January Joe is a beast all his own, if he could begin showing more of that 'urgency/decisiveness' (for lack of better words) in the regular season - M&T would perennially be the last stop for AFC contenders before the Super Bowl. I'm wildly excited to see what Trestman/Mornhinweg can accomplish together with Joe this year!
  15. Joe is special, but Rodgers is the best in the biz. Not only that, he's a cool/fair play dude as well. Now take Brady, as phenomenal of a football player as he is, I would take any other NFL QB over him. I can't stand his "morals", the way he always whines, the way he (used to) always get away with shady stuff... list goes on but I don't feel like ranting today. I just hope his suspension stays how it is, that the Patriots have a down year and that Brady's supposed HOF legacy has been thoroughly tainted. Go Ravens!
  16. Stats aside, I really just want the Ravens to make the playoffs as per usual. That being said, I would love for Joe to have a monster stat year as well. It seems that's the only thing the so called experts look at when determining which QB's are elite. How about 4300 yards, 30 TDs 10 INTs and a 65% completion percentage, along with a 12-4 record - yum!
  17. The Ravens have 6 years of NFL tape to evaluate his talent, they definitely have a solid idea of what they're getting in Kyle. Also, he has to pass the physical. Any potential injury concerns should surface during that process. As to reasons why he's no longer with the Cheatriots: -Maybe he wanted out (he's a Maryland native which probably also played a part) -Maybe they tried to resign him for less money, when Ozzie swooped in and grabbed him -Maybe they want to go a different direction, seeing as they let most of their secondary go (does that mean Revis and Browner are fishy signings, because they were released as well?) It's a good, cheap (rumored 3 yr, 7.5 mill) move, Ozzie strikes again.
  18. Wow, you have a nice a day as well.
  19. Waller looks pretty smooth in his breaks in the most recent rookie camp sneak peek. Hopefully we have found our Megatron-type (they both went to GT) WR to step in opposite Perriman when Smitty retires. I'm very excited for the upcoming season(s)!
  20. Brady also denied Wells access to his phone and email - couldn't the commisioner "order" him to hand that stuff over? Just seems incredibly sketchy. Brady looked really uncomfortable (i.e. GUILTY haha) at the Salem University thing, sweating bullets and all.. I'm hoping for REALLY strict disciplining: lengthy suspension (6-8 game minimum), fines and 2016 draft pick reductions. There's pretty much no way they lose the SB title, right?
  21. If that's the case, I hope he makes a big announcement late in the year about "this is my last ride..." and delivers a passionate speech similar to what ray did. That turned out pretty well for us. The team made sure Ed got his ring before "retiring". Now, let's go get Smitty the one thing lacking on his football resume as well.
  22. Interesting points. I'm sure the Ravens have done their due diligence x 10 on all aspects of Breshad and his game. 50-60 rec/900-1100 yards/5-10 TD's is within Perriman's reach this season imo.
  23. I agree Joey, and those are certainly intriguing comparisons. I think one of the reason for the Torrey comparisons, is with regards to Perriman becoming a bust or not. Many, myself included, have argued that Perriman as a rookie is better than Torrey as a rookie (maybe even Torrey heading into his 5th season). With better coaching, QB play and a professional organization around him, it bodes well for Perriman's chances of succeeding at the next level. He should at least amount to what Torrey has done, and in that case he wouldn't be a total bust imo.
  24. I'd be ecstatic with a couple of vets at CB and ILB around 30 years of age, not 35+ - Smitty is an exception. That would be a really strong roster, on paper at least. Can't wait for OTA's and camp!
  25. Torrey had 50 receptions, 841 yards and 7 TD's his rookie year in 14 starts. Now, can we all agree that Perriman as rookie dominates Torrey (as a rookie) in pretty much every category? Better hands - Torrey usually always let's it into his body some way or another. Perriman plucks it, and is eager to show prove the nay sayers wrong about the focus drops.More developed route runner - it doesn't take much to trump Torrey there does it?More grit - doesn't shy away over the middle, fights for jump balls, runs through tackles, gains yac etc.Bigger, faster, stronger - should be conducive to more production all other factors taken into consideration. There's probably more but I'm blank at the moment. Then take into consideration that our O line is hella strong recently, and Joe has become much better the last 4 years. Our offense in general has been trending upwards the last couple of seasons - post Cam Cameron really. Give me one reason why Perriman wouldn't produce those numbers, at least, if given the same opportunity and avoiding major injury. Instead of glass half empty, let's give the guy a couple of seasons to prove his worth.
