  1. it might be jimmy smith or yanda retiring...think about the injuries...
  2. Saw this on Rotoworld and my first thought was that it might be an upgrade, then I started digging and you are completely right...he might be a better player than Zuttah but his weaknesses are the exact same...he is small and has trouble when he has to use strength against bigger DLman...this really would not be an upgrade for us. He had some games where he graded out well this past season but then same games were down right awful
  3. Yes this is huge, need at least 3!
  4. See here is the thing...Zuttah was and may still be a serviceable or decent NFL player but if we really want this offense to take the next step, we can't afford to have our center be just a serviceable/decent NFL player...we need to get an above average good to great center and I think it would be huge for this team. So many times watching us play this year I felt like that was a common theme in my head.."Man if we had a good center it would do wonders for this offense"...I just don't think Zuttah is getting the job done anymore he does not hold his blocks and gets beat easily
  5. Daniel Jeremiah also tweeted that Lattimore is the best CB he has studied this year...I very much value his insight, very interesting they seem to love him..initially I do not LOVE him, but there is alot of time from now till the draft to try to see what they see lol
  6. I just think he (Wilson) strikes me as the more complete corner. If it makes sense to put it this way...when I watch Jones the biggest thing that stands out to me is his ability to play the ball really go up high point the ball and take it away from the WR and thats great he puts himself in position to do that on deep balls...now when I watch Wilson..the biggest thing that stands out to me are his man coverage skills, how he stays with quick receivers where ever they go he is pretty much right in their pocket, and then also his ability to get out of his breaks and make plays on the ball that way...they both do things that are very valuable the question is what do you really prefer...when i watched film initially I thought by first glance that Jones might be alittle long but Wilson is a bit bigger...they both will come up and pop ball carriers but Wilson may be a bit tougher/meaner as well
  7. First impressions of Lattimore are that he is definitely a good to great FOOTBALL player. He seems to be a very smart defensive player, he seems to always be in the right spot and position to make a play and he finishes plays off and makes the plays. But I am just not in love with his overall physical and athletic traits. His size seems to be good...he seems a bit thicker than some other corners and its almost like it weighs him down a bit...you see him getting out jumped for balls alot and he doesn't really go straight up and high point when he plays the ball instead its almost like he is jumping into the receiver or falling into them. He swats the ball away more times that he goes up to high point and intercept the ball, unless it is thrown right to him. He did have some pix 6s and he does look good with the ball in his hands so im not saying he is not athletic but he just seems a bit thick and stiff to me at first glance. Solid, smart football player but im not sure thats what i want at 16.
  8. ...and I do not like how YOU are just ASSUMING that this year's draft will be another waste...this notion that this organization cannot draft anymore is ridiculous. They added about 5 or 6 big time contributors to the roster through this past draft or UDFA (Stanley, Lewis, Young, Dixon, Judon, Pierce) and another in Chris Moore who has some tremendous contributions to special teams. Young and Pierce all season long graded out near the top of list of rookies and Stanley when he finally got healthy was one of the top left tackles in all of football over the last half of the season, yes all of football. Do me a favor go back to the 2013 draft and look at alll the busts that came out of that first round along with M Elam. It all adds up, have we missed on some of our higher picks, yes we have but so have alot of other great drafting organizations...but we have hit on a ton of 3-6 rounders that have become big time contributors To say welp, here comes another wasted draft this year because we didn't fire Ozzie Newsome, is very baltimoronical of you.
  9. I waited all year to finally track you down JoeyFlex...before i can take you seriously you need to clarify how WRONG you were about Jalen Ramsey...you basically said he would not translate well to the NFL game....welp looks like that was a big mistake lol
  10. Yeah SB was definitely referring to last 6 games of LAST YEAR, when we actually graded out near the top in terms of the secondary, and Wright was playing fairly well
  11. A few short quick things after watching today...Ramsey is the biggest longest guy out there, who ran one of the fastest forty times among a group of dbs that did not impress speed wise...at one point deon was getting after them and trying to pick them up...the biggest thing...for those of you on here that questioned Ramsey's footwook..and there are those of you on here who crucified him for it..I watched multiple drills that tested his footwork and he was constantly complimented...most notably for his back pedal and break up field footwork where the coaches on the field yelled "that's how its done!" while Mayock was also complimenting on it as well. Not the end all be all as its just the combine but just points to how silly some of the pre combine talk is.
  12. OK so what you are saying is you want to have Ramsey up as a press cover corner in passing situations and all the time in a nickel or dime D? Lol I have been saying from the beginning that if we took Ramsey we could seemingly do all types of fun stuff with him. But my question is...why is everyone so afraid to draft him to be a press corner? Everyone wants to move him to SS so fast. Which is another thing I don't understand, why do we assume SS when all the gurus are saying he has the best range of any corner safety lately and could be a great FS in the league. To me yeah he could play either FS or SS but we have strong safeties and I think he could be more impactful at FS. But for me...I want this guy to be that Seahawk type big press corner. I think he can be that guy and that is a huge need for this team.
  13. I think we would be extremely lucky to get this guy at #6, I think his play making potential is what this defense needs and more importantly the overall TEAM as well. We need a play making defensive back on this team, and Ramsey can make impact plays all over the field in more ways than 1. I will admit I do fall in love with prospects during pre draft time and I get stuck on us wanting one guy and more times than not we take my guy. I wanted Jimmy badly and was pumped when we got him..it worked out. On the flip side, I loved Elam...it was tough to get really excited bc we picked so late that year but I really wanted Elam and I was pumped that we took him...that one didn't look like it worked out too well...Having said that it seems like even though there is some negativity surrounding Ramsey atleast within this fan base, he appears to be maybe even moving up ranks within high profile scouts. Bucky Brooks just came out with a top 32 prospect list last night...which Jalen Ramsey leads the list at #1...if you don't like Bucky then turn your head to Mr. Daniel Jeremiah who has Ramsey listed as his #2 prospect...fellas this isn't at his position either, its overall prospect.
  14. I don't see Alexander as a top 10 player at all...but I thought we were talking about Alexander here and he is most definitely not a safety.
  15. Who are you referencing when you say we have enough Cbs lol? Okay Jimmy Smith locked in as one starter...who is starting opposite of him with Webb going back to safety. Yeah Wright came in and progressed well but I am not saying he is an answer. I don't feel great about him being a starting CB for us next year. Will Davis showed promise but is coming back from another knee injury. Tray Walker didn't show me much. We need a corner. And we don't just need 1 we need a good 1 and a couple at that. We need a difference maker at the corner position. Jimmy is supposed to be that guy but was underwhelming last year. Even if he is at the top of his game you still need another play making corner opposite of him. What I am looking for his two bigger longer corners on the outside and a quick twitch slot corner.
  16. I am not saying that he CAN'T play zone. But I know the majority of the time he was up in the WRs face getting a little jam on him and sticking on him and running with them. Like I was saying I think he sometimes gets into no man's land when he is playing off man and reacting instead of more dictating the outcome...I am not saying he can't play zone because he is a talented defensive back with a good understand of the game and I am sure he would be able to pick it up but right now looking at his film he is much more comfortable playing up on the man, and gets lost sometimes when he is off.
  17. I will give you this...I have no inside knowledge of the situation but I could see a situation to where Ramsey relies more on his football IQ and ability than he does film. Having said that...just because he maybe didn't use the film well in college, does not mean that he won't work on that skill to apply the film knowledge to his already great awareness and IQ and improve on that as a Pro...he has things he needs to work on and this is one of them. I think Alexander is a great cover corner. He does not get me excited however and what I mean is I don't know how much of a playmaker he is. He is more of a preventer. I think he sticks to receivers like glue he seems to almost always be in their hip which is great and it takes a certain athletic ability to do that which he obviously has...but I don't see the athletic ability to transcend above that and do something special. I think he might recognize that as well too...which could lead to him watching more film and studying that way, trying to find an edge there. He might look at it and say ok great I can stick my guy man to man all over the field, but I need a boost that can help put me in a position to get a turnover...so he studies more and more film..which you see by blowing up WR screens, he is always disrupting those WR screens basically standing next the WR before he even gets the ball. When he knows what play is coming he is very decisive and quick to diffuse it and is a much more sure tackler, when he is just reacting he seems a bit more uncomfortable and is definitely not as willing to come up and make a tackle, that's when I see him struggle the most.
  18. The way you opened this up basically states why I don't want to take him at 6. I would say that he would have to be LIKE JJ Watt and I didn't think he could do that. I am very concerned about him being a 3-4 OLB I just don't think he is that athletically sound to be able to play that position at a high level in the NFL. It would almost be like Kruger, now I expect Bosa to be better than Kruger but still. While I not be giving him enough love you seem to be giving him way too much. I mean you are stating before he hasn't played a down in the NFL that teams wont even try to run at him, that's a little ridiculous at this time. I think he does have pass rushing skills other than a bull rush you are right he can work with his hands well. But I really don't see him as an OLB, he might be able to cover the flat but I don't see him dropping into coverage. It is not that I don't like Bosa, I just really don't think he is the home run that everyone seems to think he is. To me he is very disruptive in the run game but he does not jump off the page at me. I am looking for more of the speed pass rusher at an OLB position.
  19. Honestly it is too tough to give a good response to this question. If you look at how our offense finished up that stats actually painted a better picture than what it really was. For me, I am a season ticket holder I have not missed a game in probably 10 years, football fanatic so I know a good bit about football..but there were too many times when I was sitting there watching the game either in my seat in the stadium or on my couch, and I could tell you exactly what play was coming next. He just lacked creativity. It was so scripted to me it was like RUN RIGHT, RUN LEFT, PASS. It was like he has a rule that you must run the ball on first down every series and it must be the same exact run play lol. 3rd and 4th and short we would almost always try to go outside to pick up the big first down..and while it worked at times I would be questioning how he could do it again and again in the same game. I had an issue with the offense's lack of urgency in a lot of instances. There were times where I thought we needed to change something up to get on a roll and it was like we were just complacent doing what we were doing. Some of these issues I don't know if it is all on Trestman....I don't know if he would be more creative with more skilled players you might think so but I don't think it is a given. I also think Joe got frustrated with the offense at a point in the season as well which was disappointing bc he is pretty cool and calm but he was visibly frustrated at times this year before he got hurt...both with the skilled positions and play calling
  20. For me, I have a tough time getting on board with Bosa for the sole fact that if this kid is going to be something in the NFL it is going to be in a JJ Watt type style. My question is if he can be that type of player. JJ is massive but he is also super technical with his moves and quick with his hands. Bosa is not overly athletic he is just massive and heavy. I think he can be solid and disruptive but I am just not so sure he is this cant miss defensive prospect bc he could possibly be the best defensive player in college ball. I just feel like he is the mainstream pick that everyone assumes is just going to be good bc he was in college.
  21. One of the main things he shows on tape is his RANGE so I am just not understanding how you do not see it on tape. He doesn't need to just show it in the middle of the field at safety, you can see it during many different other game type scenarios as well like when he is rushing off the edge, he covers so much space so fast because of his length and rannngeeee. That same aggressive play style is what made Ed Reed. We must not forget that YES Ed Reed made a ton of amazing plays for this franchise, but he also took risks every game and they did not ALWAYS work out. I think sometimes we forget bc of how great Ed was but there were times where we would hold our breath bc of him taking risks as well. I am not falling in love with this guy, I am not in love with any prospect right now, but he is one of the best FOOTBALLERS in this draft.
  22. WHERE did everyone get the idea that Jalen Ramsey has no range skills?...where does that come from really? lol Lets just look at the athlete that he is himself...tall, long, Rangey, fast, long striding- strong...Not having any football sense in his mind an athlete like Ramsey could serve to be a ranging safety in the league. But the thing is..he has incredible football sense, and is at a level with the tops on the field, he knows where everyone should be. he is very instictual, he WANTS to make a big play and can take a risk bc of his athleticism...I don't see one professional scout that has listed Ramsey's range as a weakness...I all see them praise him for his range capability You guys need to understand about these player comparisons arent the gospel, do I think that hes as good as a Hall of Famer right now no but he has tools and prototypes that reflect some of these great past players. He is a foot BALLER.
  23. I am glad you mentioned the bit about Richard Sherman. Ever since the Seahawks defense has kind of taken over the league defensively I have been wanting what I have been calling a "Seahawk" type corner to my friends and when I look at Ramsey thats what I think he could be. I think Richard Sherman is a good comparison, am I saying that Ramsey is THAT good right now no but I certainly see potential to him to where I think he can develop into that type of player. They have similar body types and are both super long. Some have criticized Ramey for his lack of true back pedal but actually Sherman and Ramsey have similar styles and take similar steps with a hard jam at the line and then a hitch in their retreat to cover the man downfield. They also both have similar attitudes. Both having an alpha dog type of attitude which is what we need on our defense. I dont look at his versatility as a downside, he could make plays all over the field and be a weapon which we need back in Baltimore. He excites me the most of the defensive backs right now. The other guys are going to be very solid corners and might be able to cover the quick twitch route runners better than Ramsey, but I think everyone agrees the he is going to be a tremendous play maker, the hold up is whether it is going to be at CB or S...Ill deal with that hold up because guess what....WE NEED BOTH, and I play making one at that.
  24. lol I think you have it backwards on the insulting and defensiveness...I see that coming from you...I am very much open to discussion it is needed..these aren't just MY opinions...this is the general book on him and looking at film of him these are the things that you see there. I have said he is not a home run but no one is, he offers some of the biggest if not the most upside of the top prospects...he is a leader on the field. In some cases he is a tiny bit raw and I am not sure I would really use the word raw because he has an incredible understanding of the game and defense..he not only knows what he should be doing but what everyone else should be doing as well. I am not hearing anything from the doubters telling why he is such a risk and why he is over rated and why shouldn't be a good prospect for us...I have heard concerns about his CB/S tag and I have heard concerns that his "back pedaling" is suspect that is all. Like I said I want to hear other opinions..he is not my brother or family member I don't owe him anything I just think in terms of play making ability and just over all potential that he is an exciting prospect.
  25. Heard a lot about this guy, also saw him mocked to us so I decided to take a look at him. I will start by saying I am excited to see how he does in the Championship vs Ridley and Alabama on the big stage. At 5'11 185 he looks pretty compact to me. The main thing about this guy is that he is what looks to be a true cover corner. In most cases he stays very tight to the Wr he is covering staying on his hip in his pocket down field. Obviously he is good athlete I mean he is a high level D1 college football talent, but to me nothing is off the charts with him athletically. He is quick enough to mirror a Wr he has good feet, he can press and bail well enough to stay with receivers. One of my main concerns is that he often gets out jumped and out bodied for balls and I see him struggling against big physical athletic Wrs. I don't think he is overly instinctive I think he is more reactive. In some films he looks allergic to tackling like wants no part of hitting, not excited by contact. Not a hitter, goes low and wraps up legs, he is better when he diagnosis a screen and comes up to make the tackle..its in open space where he looks scared to tackle. If he is not turning and running with a Wr he looks lost and uncomfortable at times. He is a very good cover corner. He has a good corner mentality and swagger and he knows his talent..he is good with his hands both with positioning and swatting balls/making it difficult for the WR...to me he is a good prospect but nothing to me is really exciting about him and I don't think he would be a candidate for us at #6 at the moment. If you are one of those guys who believes that you need to have double digit INTs in college to be considered a good CB prospect then you will be disappointed when you look at his stats... which is why it is ridiculous to look at a players college stats and think he will never turn out in NFL
