  1. What I would like to see Thursday night... 1.) Monroe healthy and playing well. We need him and the entire line to play better 2.) Run the football!!!! Use the stretch run plays! 3.) Get Flacco moving out of the pocket on bootlegs 4.) Campanaro and Waller given opportunities to make plays Defensively 1.) Give Will Davis and Jason Babin snaps 2.) Pressure Vick and let the corners jam the receivers 3.) Get Terrence Brooks some snaps as the FS or a 3rd safety on the field 4.) Double AB from time to time and make Vick beat us throwing down field. With constant pressure and containment mixed with doubles on AB and LB from time to time we should be able to stop their offense without Big Ben.
  2. There are reports out that the Bears are looking to unload any players that do not fit their scheme or are left over from the previous regime that are worth value. Ozzie should be on the phone immediately offering something for Alshon Jeffrey. We need a receiver like him and we could probably get him for a 3rd round pick. I would explore that opportunity if I were the Ravens and it would fill one of our biggest needs
  3. If he retires this upcoming offseason then the remaining part of his signing bonus accelerates and we take a cap hit for that amount. I am not sure what his bonus looks like at the moment, but if I remember we gave him a pretty nice sized bonus and about 16 million of his new contract is guaranteed
  4. I'd like to see a few different starters this week. Brooks in for Lewis, Babin in for Upshaw, Urschel in for Zuttah and Campanaro in for Aiken.
  5. I wouldn't be opposed to hiring a guy like Schwartz at the end of the season and making a transition to a 4-3/3-4 hybrid. He ran something similar in Buffalo and our personnel matches up with theirs. Suggs and Doom could still rush standing up on occasion but our linebackers with speed (Mosley and Brown) could be tasked with covering. I doubt it happens but maybe the front office is starting to trend that way
  6. If this is the case then I would expect Don Martindale to get the nod. Has experience and has coached some really good players over the years. The players respect him and before Suggs injury linebacker was our most talented position group. Getting an experienced secondary coach would help as well
  7. Fire Pees and bring in Pagano or a coordinator who is aggressive and animated. We need someone on the sidelines who can get in players faces and fire up our defense. Go heavy on the defensive side of the ball in the draft and make sure they are FAST. We lack any kind of speed in several positions. Urban will help the pass rush when he returns but fast linebackers and safeties would be nice
  8. Give Campanaro and Waller more opportunities! Maybe look to bring Jeremy Butler or Jeremy Ross up from the practice squad also
  9. He is owed quite a bit going forward, I am not sure how much we would owe him if he decided to retire, but I fully expect him to be back and starting next year. Hopefully he will have a chance to mentor and teach a young pass rusher that we draft high in next years draft
  10. He has been better then expected so far, I am really happy we drafted him. Id love to include Taliaferro and Campanaro into the offensive group but they have been unable to stay healthy so far. Both guys have the potential to be game changers for us though, Campanaro made some nice plays yesterday and yet Brown and Aiken play significant snaps over him
  11. Id throw Carl Davis into the core of defensive players. He makes plays and was fired up after each play in the second half. Hopefully Terrence Brooks can join that group sometime soon to
  12. They sure are! Now if only Perriman and Waller would get on that track we would be in good shape
  13. Same here Gilmore is a building block for our offense and he is a hard working guy. I hope he is ok to but atleast Williams seems to be getting more comfortable each game. Those two could be quite the pair in the near future
  14. You could say that about all his responses, he was not happy about anything and I thought indirectly took a shot at Pees and secondary. We will see this I guess though
  15. I don't want to assume anything, but I cannot imagine it is serious because he stood on the sidelines the entire second half with his helmet on. Maybe a possible concussion and they held him out for precautionary reasons?
  16. It surely is and it doesn't make any sense why we are not using them. It seems to be Allen and Taliaferro's strengths as well. Our offensive line is very athletic and do well moving laterally, that Is a big reason why we were able to succeed last year with Hurst at left tackle. Get the line moving and Flacco rolling out and bootlegs to go with the stretch runs. Our receivers don't have a ton of speed so why not make the cornerbacks try and cover for a few more seconds. Guys like Campanaro and Aiken would really benefit from those plays. Throwing the ball 74% of the time will not get it done
  17. I would like to see Waller get some opportunities as well, and not just jump balls in the end zone. Camp should be a starter in 3 wide sets for how well he has played. The running game is baffling, I wish Trestman would do the stretch runs we did last year and get the line moving laterally. Last year Kubiak did a good job disguising our plays and teams didn't know what it would be, now it seems defenses put 8 in the box because they know we are running and Trestman runs straight ahead right into the line for 1 yard gains
  18. Yeah that is true, I am never a fan of placing blame on one coach or player because it usually is a collective effort win or lose, but Pees has to be the scapegoat for this season if this continues. When our backs were against the wall in second half Pees dialed up blitzes and our corners pressing. What happens? Dumervil forces a fumble, we shut down their running game and forced them into a few punts and an interception. Then with a lead he dials it back and plays conservative and we lose, it just does not make any sense and I would be surprised if he is still coaching by our bye week
  19. When you have a coordinator who thinks playing a deep zone defense and having a safety cover a top 5 receiver in the league that is what happens. I only wish Flacco and the offense could have taken more time to score that last touchdown and not given Cincy that much time, its pathetic but true.
  20. It was nice to see Campanaro make a few plays, he also did well returning punts. He made a clutch catch for a first down in the 4th quarter, they need to put him on the field in 3 wide sets and let him operate out of the slot
  21. I would like a veteran wideout as well, but do not be surprised if we draft another one high next year. It all depends how this season ends but if we are in the top 10-15 we could have a chance at a top tier wideout prospect. We do need a pass rusher, corner and left tackle as well though. We will have cap space to sign a few decent players so hopefully we get it done
  22. I guess only time will tell with Pees, but atleast we know Harbaugh is not afraid to make that call in season if necessary. I don't know what coach or player needs to take the fall for the 0-3 start but someone does. It obviously wont be Harbaugh nor should it be, but a starter hast to benched or someone has to be fired in order to spark this team. If we would start out fast in the first half we would have probably won all 3 games. These slow starts have plagued us for years now and it is unbelievably frustrating to watch as a fan. A win in Pittsburgh is necessary and expected now with Big Ben out, they should be able to contain Vick and force them to beat them down field.
  23. I think it is time for a change as well, Pees needs to go. If Ben doesnt play Thursday and he can win that game then I think there is an opportunity for us to beat Cleveland and go on the west coast trip and win atleast one of those games. IF we can go into our bye week at 4-4, I think we could have a decent shot at turning our season around. Maybe if we fired Pees it would be the spark this team needs
  24. I agree to an extent. This team has a lot of young talent on the roster, the people I place most blame on is the coaching staff. Pees absolutely needs to go and be replaced now. Trestman continues to have a terrible game plan against the two good defenses we have played. Steve Smith single handily kept us in this game and its sad to know this is his last year. I think replacing Pees at this point is best and start playing young guys more. I still cannot believe Pees had Kendrick Lewis single covering Aj Green on that touchdown, we had the game in our control and could have rode it out but he absolutely blew it with that call. The penalties also killed us and good news is Osemele may not cost a lot to retain after his first 3 games.
  25. I read from a few different places that Taliaferro is sitting out with a foot injury. I believe that is what ended his season last year so hopefully its nothing more then general soreness.
