  1. Matthews is not worth much more then a 7th round pick to us and Grimes has a huge contract on top of being a pro bowl player last year. We could not afford Grimes and he would be worth atleast a 2nd round pick for how well he has played the last few years. We may make another trade or we might not, but we should all temper our expectations because I doubt it will be any big name guys. We only have roughly 1.5 million in cap space left!
  2. I was referring to the pressure in the beginning where Harbaugh said he is "day-to-day". I am glad he is no longer trying to predict injuries and he just lets the players heal. I hope this extra scope and time he is taking allows him to fully heal and be effective when he does return. I am very excited to see what the kids got and if he can become a good receiver for us
  3. A roster spot was enough of a premium for them to put Campanaro on IR eventhough his injury was only a couple week injury. If SSS doesn't get hurt I understand we probably wouldn't have put Campanaro on IR, but if we are going to make a run we need as many available bodies as possible. I want Perriman to play and to learn on the job this year, but they are putting a lot of pressure on him by not giving updates and making it seem like he is healing slow. The kid is more frustrated then anyone I am sure
  4. I hope you are right about him returning sooner rather then later, but roster spots are valuable. It is telling they did not IR him after this latest knee scope, so hopefully the doctors and FO have a clearer understanding of when he is coming back. IF Pitta is cleared and wants to play and Urban is ready, it will give the FO difficult decisions to make on which players get cut to make room
  5. I don't know if they will be able to wait that long for Perriman without needing his roster spot. Remember Urban and Pitta are eligible to come back before or around that time. If Perriman is not ready then they might just IR him. The good thing about that 4 game stretch is 3 of them are at home
  6. I don't think our secondary is that good that we can survive trading one of our starting corners. Will Davis played well but we still need Webb this season. He is healthy and playing competently for us right now, now need to unload him
  7. Haden missed yesterday's game so hopefully he will sit out another week. I am excited to see Givens play, he has great speed and should give Flacco someone to throw the deep ball to. Hopefully we have Monroe and Gilmore back for this game and Forsett can continue to run well
  8. Has anyone heard anymore on his injury? I read somewhere that he was getting x-rays on his lower back? He played a great game last night so hopefully he is okay and he can probably use the extra days same with SSS. Few thoughts Will Davis played pretty well, much better then Melvin was playing so this is an upgrade for now. Waller and Aiken both made some plays so hopefully they are ready to contribute more Forsett and this offensive line finally showed up and it was great to see
  9. This may be a blessing in disguise for him and the team. This surgery should help his long term outlook and generally only takes guys 2-4 weeks to return. With his condition though and rehab time who knows how long, but this should help his knee out for the future
  10. I agree with you, but its not like the FO had a ton of cap room to deal with. I believe they were hoping they could stay competitive this year knowing all that dead money and other contracts would be coming off the books after this season. With a Flacco extension next offseason and that dead money we will have room to make moves. They plan years in advanced knowing what we will have, I give Pat Moriarty a ton of credit for his cap knowledge
  11. I really hope he does not try to play off man tonight. He needs to have Jimmy jam AB at the line and have safety help over the top. Webb, Melvin and Davis can handle Wheaton, DHB and Coates. We will have to account for Bell also so hopefully he has Mosley or Hill covering him most of the time. We have to make Vick beat us from the pocket and throwing outside the hashes.
  12. I hope we have success throwing it, but I would love if we could get our ground game going. Shazier being out helps us and I would expect Trestman to pound the running game. Taliaferro needs to gets involved early also
  13. Monroe being out is the worst out of the 4. Hurst has been terrible these 3 games. What if we kicked KO over to LT and had Urschel fill in at LG until Monroe returns? Maybe a lineup switch will help ignite this line and get the ground game going
  14. I cant see this being the case. Roster spots are to valuable so if we was hurt that badly and they knew it, they would have put him on IR. At this point Perriman must be a slow healer and sometimes guys are like that. I would expect to see him play vs. Cleveland or San Francisco, but that is pure speculation
  15. No problem! It really makes you appreciate his fight and desire to win, especially when he could just look to pad his stats for the HOF since he is retiring. Tomorrow night we will find out if his words stuck or not with this team
  16. I agree I do not think it is the lack of quality players. I think Pees is most at fault, but the front office can be blamed as well. Looking over our roster we just do not have the quality depth and personnel to run Pees 3-4 defense the way it should be run without Suggs.
  17. http://mmqb.si.com/mmqb/2015/09/29/nfl-steve-smith-baltimore-ravens This article right here shows why Smith Sr. is so important to our team right now. I am hoping his locker room speech and private talks resonate with this team and they come out tomorrow night showing why they were a popular Super Bowl pick. I am excited to see an emotional and desperate Ravens team tomorrow, they still have time to salvage the season and all they have to do is take it 1 game at a time!
  18. No way DJax comes here, way to much baggage. Garcon would not be a bad fit I agree with all of this. We need to make a bigger sized move in free agency or trade this year though. Jeffery or to fix our safety need what about Eric Weddle? I know he is probably going to be expensive, but he would be a massive upgrade on Lewis
  19. If we don't fire Pees midseason then a change will almost certainly be coming in the offseason. The more I read about it and looking at our roster the more I believe moving to a 4-3 defense may be the way to go for the future. Drafting and finding players to fit the 3-4 is much harder and the chances of finding a guy to replace what Suggs can do are small
  20. Wagner and Williams will be eligible for extensions I believe next offseason. Williams will most likely get his then and we may wait on Wagner. We would need to extend Flacco and cut bait with guys like Webb, Canty, McClellan and benefit from Smith Sr. and most likely Pitta retiring. We would gut our team of a lot of veterans but it may be worth it to bring Jeffery on and use the draft to bulk up the defense
  21. I agree 100%. Off to an 0-3 start and people want us to fire one of the best head coaches in football? I don't get it one bit and I personally hope Harbaugh is here for the long haul.
  22. I understand that, but it is hard for us to draft one always picking at the bottom of the first round. I would much rather pay for someone proven like Jeffery now and use our top picks to bring in a pass rusher, cornerback and left tackle. A lot of our cap is tied up in dead money and older players, we could afford Jeffery if it were possible to get him
  23. A new deal should not be a huge problem, especially since it would give us a true #1 for the next 4-5 years. If this were possible it would be great but I highly doubt it. Eventually we will need to pay or draft a true #1 receiver
  24. I admit that the chances of us getting him are less then 1%, but it is not entirely impossible to see the Bears trading him. They drafted Kevin White and have Marquess Wilson (who they seem to be high on). They could opt to take a 1st or 2nd rounder for him and rebuild through the draft. The Bears have one of the most talentless rosters in the NFL and are in a rebuilding mode now
  25. Shazier missed last week and looks like he could very well miss this game also. With arguably two of their best 5 players out, if we don't win this game then Harbaugh and the FO will have some serious evaluations to do
