  1. This thread is based on the completely wrong assumption that YPG measures passing defensive performance. Factors such as opponent offenses performance, number of plays ran, opponents running more could all explain the difference. If you check DVOA rating which controls for opponent strength and measure the performance the whole defence not just passing: http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/teamdef Ravens is 20th the full season, and 18th when more recent games are considered ( see weighted DVOA ). There is no dramatic turn around. Even if you don't like DVOA, passing yards allowed is still a meaningless stat. If the opponents chose to run more due to early leads, or Pees sell out to stop the pass, you will get lower passing yards numbers. Any stats that doesn't factor in run-pass strategies are pointless. My guess is that the less yards allowed in the second half is mostly due to less passing plays. Best lies are made of stats, you can easily fool yourselves if not careful. That's why stats are for losers.
  2. Absolutely, completely agree.
  3. I'm shocked that nobody has mentioned SSS in this thread yet, he'd be amazing to see. Seriously though, I agree with most of you about distractions and circuses, although I'd definitely watch if it's on. If we are forced to be on HK at least once we can pick which, I'd pick this year, just for SSS. The other guy that could be fun to watch would be Brandon Williams.
  4. 3 starters out of a draft is not a bad one. Plus the 2013 class across the whole league is not a good one. The fact that the our 2 picks hasn't panned out yet still got 3 solid starters just shows the crap shoot nature of the draft, and the value of mid-round picks. When judging the draft, It's really important not to focus too much on the top of draft while ignoring the mid rounds.
  5. Seems we heard no news from his visit to Cincy, we can safely assume that he is looking more money than teams are offering. Then it's quite obvious that this is probably put out before the visits to pressure the teams to bid. Since there are no real deadlines here, we probably have to wait either close to the draft or even May 12th to find out where he is signing.
  6. If they truly think Pitta is coming back, I'll be at the same time happy about the prospect of having Pitta again, and worried about his health and us having to rely on that.
  7. One has to think the Bengals know more about that than our FO. If they offer Housler something better than we did, that says something about Gresham. Ozzie either have some other plans, or the Pitta situation is much more optimistic than they're letting on.
  8. Just saw on twitter a rumor/report that Rob Housler was offered a one-year minimum deal by our FO. Combined with the fact that we let him out of the house suggests that FO is not that high on him? Or they think he won't get anything better anywhere else? https://twitter.com/RossJonesFOX/status/583659797376970752
