Welcome to the Flock Willie Henry ! Wow no Buckeyes selected by my Ravens, hope John being from that school up north isn't hating on us! Lol! I'm just sayin Buckeyes DOMINATED the draft across the board! Oh well we good though I saw this kid alot when we battle! Good move! SALUTE
John graduated from Miami University. the last time I checked, Oxford, Ohio is south of Columbus. Your geography needs some work.
We have so many question marks going into next year: Joe's knee, receiving corps, can the defense learn to play all 4 quarters in a game and not konk out halfway through. But the one thing that is rock solid is the Wolf Pack. Koch, Cox, and Tucker are always dialed in and on the money. They push themselves to do more. Our FO would have to be nuts to ruin the one part of the team that currently has nothing wrong with it!!
We beat the 49ers in the Super Bowl by 3 points with a kicker who was perfect under that pressure. The previous year, we lost the AFC Championship game because our kicker couldn't hit from 32 yards under pressure. We beat the Steelers this year in our first meeting only because our kicker was far superior to theirs. Tucker has hit from 61 yards to win the game with that pressure on him. Kickers are missing more extra points than ever while Tucker has been perfect. I could go on and on. I think those who think he is not worth the money to keep either have zero memory or have no clue how crucial a great kicker can be to a team's success.
Or they could be Steelers fans trolling our website. That makes about as much sense as saying Tucker isn't worth the money!
Tucker =points=money. Pay the man.
I second that. And pay him well. What did Joe say during the first Steelers' game this year - "send Justin in and let him win this thing so we can go home".
I wish we would have kept Bryn; I think he has real potential. But, if he can't get on the field with us, I am glad he is getting a chance with someone. The guy more than deserves a chance to play. Good Luck Bryn!
You just cannot say enough for Chuck P. The league could use a lot more people with his perspective. Come home Coach. We would love to have you back!!
As an engineer, I don't believe in luck. There are always a combination of events that lead up to a failure. Not all failures are alike, but if you track enough of them, you will learn ways to prevent failures. Is there one "quick fix" - very unlikely. But writing it off to being "unlucky" is simply taking an easy way out and not wanting to address the issue because it is a difficult one to solve.
And I still think we should lock him up in a 3 year contract or more. Even now, he is better than most, and you know he find the problem and fix it.
Can't help but wonder about after effects of the collapsing turf in San Fran. That seems to be about the point when JT's kicking went strange (or shall we say, wide right). Wonder if there is some minor pull/injury left over from that fall? Still amazes me that he didn't break something.
Has there been an update on Maxx? I know there are limits on how much the team can share due to the privacy laws but a general update on how he is doing would be cool.
Can someone please put together a Justin Tucker highlight video. He probably has like 10 big tackes already. A couple of players he hit stayed down for a while!
No Kidding. I think he looks for his opportunities. He had one of these in the preseason this year that took a few years off my life. No Tucker, NO! This game has no meaning and you are too valuable, then WHACK. Tucker popped up a lot faster than the guy with the ball did. You get the impression that he was a linebacker or a DB in a former life.
So true! To this day I still watch the Denver/Balitimore playoffs game Jacoby Jones catch Flacco launched 49 seconds in regular play...sucked the air out of mile high...gives me a smile every time.
You can bet that there are a lot of people in Denver who still remember that play very well too. Except, I doubt if it brings back smiles for them. Tee Hee!
"That was a cover zero."
Yeah, that hurt.
Respect for Smith is league wide and is heartfelt. A Hall of Famer in the waiting. Thanks for the memories Steve and showing the young WR's how to play the game. Too bad Perriman couldn't get on the field because he would have seen close up how's it's done!
Even if SSS does retire this year, really wish he would stay on as a coach/mentor/counselor in some fashion. With his home in Charlotte, I could see where he would choose not too. But young players coming into the game could truly benefit from his leadership and real world common sense both on and off the field.
As long as Justin Tucker is kicking game winning field goals, he can do the Chicken Dance for all I care. Tucker has earned the right to dance however he wants!
Agreed! Now, would someone please get this man a contract!!!
Justin's lucky he didn't injure himself. You can easily tear a muscle with something silly like that.
Or twist an ankle. When he first went down, I was holding my breath until he got up. Seems worthy of a complaint to the league office - opposing teams are supposed to provide safe facilities to play in. If he had been hurt, we would have been up you-know-what creek without a rowing object.
So how about switching to a 4-3 Defense next year? It's sad we are not getting rid of Pees any earlier than that, especially when we have his perfect repleacement on the team already.. Defensive Line coach, I can't think of his name right now but he has been with the team since before Harbs and has the love and respect of the players.. Something our current DC does not have.. Fire Pees now and promote him at least until the end of the season.
Coach Brooks, I think they call him "CB" - this first name starts with a "C" as well but I am too lazy to look it up right now. He is the real deal. Much rather have him than Pees. Then again, right now, I would much rather have my cat than Pees.
if Flacco didnt underthrow givens that wouldve been a TD! i like givens and ross i think theyre keepers to add to smith aiken peeriman
Ross did a great job for his first game off the practice squad. He had more confidence and played with more attitude than some of the guys that have been on the team for a while. Makes you wonder if there might be another hidden gem or two that we need to shake out of the PS.
Hmm big day for Marlon i didnt think he had any catches
One catch for officially one yard. And another one that went literally right through his hands - and we needed it very badly. I have tried really hard to like this guy, but in my opinion he has not only used up this three strikes (pardon the sports switch), but a few extras as well. He has had more than enough time to show his potential if it is really there, and "athletic ability" can only carry you so far. Catch the freaking ball or give the space to someone who can.
Did anyone else watch Q playing out of his mind last night? He had 8 receptions - more than OBJ on the Giants. This is three years after we traded him for some stupidly low pick because he was "too old" and "at the end of his career". If anything, he looked faster and stronger, and he was definitely outplaying Torrey. It was enough to make you want to barf.
i can see PEEs getting fired after this performance from his unit.
We can always hope so.
He watched that Browns TE beating CJ all game and never made an adjustment to help him out. It was clear the TE (sorry, don't remember the name) was McCown's favorite target, and a Linebacker on a good TE is just not a fair matchup. Another situation like the three-man rush - it took him two losses to quit calling that play. He may be a good coach, but he doesn't seem willing/able to make adjustments in game situations.
I like this guy. He has fought his way into a starting job the hard way, by listening, working, and making himself better. Kamar was a Raven from day 1; it just took a little time for us to find him.
LOL, you don't need a chart for this...
Since 2012 (52 regular season games):
Tucker - 440 points (107 FGs, 119 PATs).
Flacco - 474 points (73 TD passes, 6 TD runs).
Just one thing to add:
PAY. THE. MAN.
So has anyone come up with a good explanation as for why there wasn't a flag on that play? The defensive player hit helmet first with enough force to break bones and Steve was already on his way out of bounds. That would be 1) late hit; 2) leading with the crown of the helmet; and possibly even 3) defenseless receiver. Considering all the ticky-tacky, senseless flags we have seen in the first three weeks of this season, this was one that should have been thrown for safety's sake. I hope the FO at least submits tape for review.

Just found the next jersey I am going to buy. We need more people with this attitude.
