We’ll have a good offense but I really want our defense to play like the Ravens of old. I think I’m hopeful but we’ll see.

You're not really going to see a Ravens defense of old any time soon. The reason why those defenses were so good is because they stuffed the run like nobody's business and had the talent on the back end to stop the pass. You had once in a lifetime talents like Ray Lewis and Ed Reed on the field. Reed was like a shutdown corner only while playing CF as a safety. The team has made a concerted effort to become more of an offensive powerhouse and not so much of a defensive juggernaut like it once was. They think with a potent offense and at least an above average defense you can win more games in this era of the NFL. I guess they subscribe to the notion that the best defense is a great offense.

I think we're trying to upgrade both of them equally. 2 of some of our main focusses this offseason was a heavy pass-rush and more turnovers from the secondary. The only thing we added on offense was more speed. So really despite what it seems, our defense is ore of the priority. Stuffing the run really hasn't changed we still do that. I think we're going for a faster, ball-hawking defense that thrives off getting making the QB uncomfortable.

So ur perfect? Spill some of ur dirt so we can sit up here and judge you, then kick you off the website because we couldn't forgive you over a small part of ur life which doesn't describe you.

You know what? There are actually people in this world that are capable of living day to day lives where they don't engage in this type of behavior. Sue me because I grew up with my Grandmother and parents teaching me how to behave a certain way. Sue me because I keep my nose clean. Am I perfect? Nope, nobody is. But my mistakes tend to be, "dangit, I forgot to take the trash out last night." They don't tend to be, "I accidentally spit in my wife's face, then I accidentally followed her into an elevator, accidentally smacked her in the face, then accidentally slugged her so hard to drop her like a bad habit, accidentally dragged her out of the elevator like a sack of potatoes, and then I accidentally lied about it to the front office of the team that just so happened to recently sign me to a long term, big money deal, then I accidentally lied to the commissioner of the NFL so he wouldn't suspend me for too long so that I could get paid that lucrative contract I just signed."

You'll have to just forgive me for not being able to relate to those kinds of "mistakes."

He didn't lie, he told then the truth, then the video came out. The NFL and the ravens got scared, freaked out, and cut him so they could save their image. I love the team but that's the truth. A lot of people don't ko their spouses don't make you seem so dandy. A mistake is a very broad term, a mistake can be a mistake no matter how small or big.

  3. I have said from day one when people were bashing our draft, our free agent acquisitions and existing players, that we will cut people who I believe will start on other teams, not just be roster fill ins. I honestly believe that, however, the loss of tight ends due to suspensions, the loss of wide receivers to injury and the loss of running backs to the PUP list, that may actually make a lot of the decisions easier, but not easy. Flacco will finally after all his time in the league, be surrounded by a plethora of quality playmakers. Flacco has never experienced this before so it will be interesting to see if given those talents surrounding him will Flacco be able to make that next step. 4000+ yards passing, 90+ quarterback rating, 68% completion percent and limited sacks. I think if Flacco gets at least those numbers we will be 10-6 or 11-5. I look at what people said about the Orioles this year and I thought no way would we be that bad with the talent we have. I have to look at the Ravens and the pundits placing them third in the division and I have to think they must be nuts as well. I look at what the Steelers and Bengals have done and what they started with and I don't think they will even be able to compete with the Ravens this year.

    I totally agree

Glad Wallace and Joe are on the same page, because with Perriman never ever ever going to play in the nfl, we need a sure deep threat for Flacco to go to when needed. Their chemistry is undeniable. IDK how yall feel but im comfortable with Aiken and Wallace being the top 2 WR's come regular season.

    Perriman's back...

That was a 'bold' prediction' not a true statement

there is a difference between a mistake and hitting someone - that is something he actively chose to do (even if he was drunk he still had to decide to punch her)

The definition of a mistake: an action or judgment that is misguided or wrong. Duh, it wouldn't be called a mistake if it wasn't a choice. that is literally the dumbest reply ive ever read. I think ur getting the words accident and mistake mixed. what he did wasn't an accident he obviously meant to hit her, but he made a mistake deciding to hit her.

  6. I go off of what I see, not hope, and all I've seen from him is an injury prone player who has yet to last 2 days in training camp, and who doesn't seem to eager to get back on the field. Like I said before, people are penciling him as a starter and all this guy has under his belt is some ota/mini camp practice and one day of training camp. Until I see otherwise he might as well not even be on the team because he's shown me nothing to be hopeful for or excited about.

She forgave him. You, apparently, cannot.

Millions of dollars and the promise of marriage can sway some people. He didn't make those promises to me, so no, I don't have to forgive him.

The Ravens as a whole, Harbs, Biscotti all did Ray Rice dirty.  Yea he made a mistake but no one did a better job of fixing it than RR did.  The Ravens caved to the media BS....unfortunately RR's name has been poisoned and no one will touch him.  Several other players in the league currently have done far worse than RR and continue to play.

Totally agree with your opinion. I'm afraid that's an episode the Ravens management will never live down. It's the shame of the front office, not the team or the players.

I can't believe people actually feel this way. So the Ravens are supposed to stand by a lying woman beater?

Beater would suggest he hits her repeatedly or constantly. as far as we know that was a one time thing, and women do have a way of pushing your buttons. Let it go they were both drunk, she was pissing him off and he made a mistake. other than that I look at him no differently.

  9. shake ur head, call me a bad fan all u want, im one of the most loyal and proud ravens fan on this planet, and I go to any length to defend the team and players, but until Perriman actually does something other than be injured, sorry, but to me he's a wasted roster spot. When I see him do something, i'll go back to rooting for him but until then i don't really care about him anymore

  10. I hope Perriman comes back SOON! He's had over a year to nurse his injury, meanwhile guys like Pitta are already practicing after 2 major hip injuries that put his career in jeopardy. He needs to hurry up and compete, or else he'll get a rude awakening when he falls on that depth chart and guys who continuously make play like Moore leap frog him. Im tired of hearing, "He'll be back soon" or "It's just lingering" or "It's no big deal." I keep seeing and hearing his name come up as being the starter next to SSS... But hol on... Mike Wallace is the same deep threat he is, hasn't had concerns catching the ball. is a veteran who has actually not just played in a game, but has played for multiple years, and with the exception of the failed condition test, has been on his p's /q's and works like he an UDFA struggling to make the team. My patience is wearing thin, and I have no problem with him taking a backup role.

  11. All I really care about is Perriman and Dixon getting back on the practice field. Perriman quite simply needs to show he was worth our first pick, seeing as though he was really a second round talent who went in the first round because of his 40 time, he needs to prove he can play... period. Kenneth Dixon is said to be the second best rb in the rookie class behind Elliott, and I really want to see what he can do. As for everyone else, I'm not too concerned. Suggs and Smith will come back when ready, and Wallace and Powers will probably be back in the next couple of days

Why are they still not giving Daniel Brown an opportunity. He's goes out in front of the fans and makes plays. The fans want to see more of him and Harbaugh throws him to the back of the bus. I want to see Dan Brown get more opportunities and not just thrown in when all else fails.

Coaches see everything you see AND everything you don't.

That's why he's not on the field. Because they see things you don't see.

I have zero interest in seeing more of him. I have interest in seeing the best players play. And if he's not outplaying others to EARN playing time, then he's not one of the best players.

Just remember you said this when Daniel Brown starts making plays on live tv, whether with us or another team.

He's literally done nothing, I could understand if he made some plays but he hasn't

  13. I am really excited about this team this year. I'm really only concerned about 3 things, and that is IF Perriman can actually play a down in an actual game, how the ILB core will plan out now that D Smith is gone, and how the O-line will work out now that KO is gone, and we have a rookie LT. Other than that, I just can't wait for the season to start so we can shut up everyone that always talks down about us.

I like to think he was first and foremost brought in to mentor Stanley. If he can compete for the backup job, it would be an added bonus.

Anyway, there's no real downside of this move, with a ton of potential upside. A kind of Trent Richardson 2.0. We had the roster spot,, we have ths cap space, we could definitely use a proven mentor for Stanley... So, why not? It makes so much sense even I can see it.

    I agree. :-)

What makes him a backup? He might be the starter. I can see Stanley struggling. Had KO stayed, he'd take some of the load off Stanley and be like a big brother in the trenches. Defenses are going to come at him hard, and a beast OG, right next to him would've helped a lot.
