"Head Coach John Harbaugh was asked if Stanley has a significant injury.
“I don’t see it that way from what I’ve been told,” Harbaugh said Friday. “I still think he has a chance for Sunday." Man I hope its not the same people that said Perriman had a Boo Boo.
Well he did, he just took OD long to heal, and they weren't expecting it
IMO it looks like the tams biggest weakness is the Oline. We get absolutely no push up the middle when running the ball, they create no holes, and even runs to the outside get quickly closed because we can't hold up the edge. Honestly everyone on the O-line looks weak when we run the ball. Then when we try to throw deep, Joe has to either throw it away, take a sack, throw flat footed or on his back foot, or look for a second option. We need stock up on the O-line.
i'm praying our run game comes into existence this sunday.
Well our defense sure as hell isn't the problem, I love our defense, it's that O-line, Its causing 2 problems.
1) We can't run the ball. Point blank we can't run the ball. On offense when running the ball, the o-line literally doesn't create not one hole or gap. The reason we're not scoring more points is because we are constantly getting put in 2nd and long and 3rd and long or at least 3rd&3 or more. That 1st play is crucial to a drive and we're not sustaining them.
2) Joe doesn't have enough time. Thank god he's healed so good bc if not, he would've probably been reinjured by now. He hasn't been sacked all that much but still been hit more than my liking. Also, we have the weapons to go deep in Wallace, Perriman, and Moore, but deep plays require time to develop, and Joe has to wait for players to get open, but defenders are getting to him before he has enough time to deliver the ball and plays to develop.
Honestly I think it can improve but it won't be completely fixed this season. Sometimes I do think that Forsett goes down too easily and requires too much space to break a big run, but overall I don't think it's the RB's fault. Somehow some way we're gonna have to fix the run SCHEME and I do think that can be fixed this season. Trestman and Harbs are just gonna have to come up with a plan.
the raven still look bad to me, Cleveland is ranked 31st. the offense looks stagnant just as bad as last year. there still the 3rd best team in the afc north.
Honestly, the only team that worries me is the bengals, we've struggled mightily to beat them the last few seasons. And we are how the Bengals are to us vs the steelers, They have been struggling to beat us lately. How can a 2-0 team look bad! I keep trying to tell people... what the browns did in the 1st qtr, them nor no other team would be able to duplicate in a season, it was a crazy debacle and they got lucky on plays that went there way, if it was true talent they wouldn't have lost the lead. I think the Jags game will give us a better understanding of the team
I think as a whole the fans on this site need to be way more uplifting and posititive. Im gonna make a few points.
1) If it wasn't for Joe Flacco, we would've not only lost, but gotten blown out, never slowing the browns down. The first int, Haden read the route beautifully and jumped it, what the hell was he supposed to do? Joe Haden is a top 5 cb, he's great, don't let the team he plays for fool you, they suck, he's good. On the second one, yea he slightly underthrew it, but it was a one on one matchup with a receiver who ran a 4.26, he took a chance, but it didn't work out.
2) That 1st qtr was a fluke, it's very rare that any team could ever come out and start a game like that. The 2007 patriots could've played the wort team in nfl history, and that wouldn't have happened, rarely will you ever see a team score that many points in the 1st qtr.
3) People say our offense is predictable, but the with exception of that 2nd int, we almost scored 25 STRAIGHT POINTS. It's the browns i get it, but they are a professional team, they have brains, if it was that predictable we wouldn't have been able to do what we did.
4) Wright is a good corner. Early on in the madness, he got beat by a really gifted wr, but it's not like he burned him, he just got beat. Later in the game, he lost a jumpball, they're 50/50 balls man, it was great coverage, but Coleman made a great play, other than those 2 plays he was fine.
5) We Do look like a playoff team. Not only did we play a division opponent on the road, which is always difficult, we played a young team with a lot of young talent, and a QB, who imo is way way underrated. On top of that, every now and again, the Browns do play a good game and sometimes win. It may not happen very often but every blue moon, they play unexpectedly and for 1 week actually look like a good team, and today may have been that game. Last week we played a tough bills defense, on a defensive minded team, who game planned hard and long knowing months in advance who they were playing. Plus Rex has that odd mutual understanding of us only former coaches have with teams.
6) I will admit that our run blocking needs work, but we lost one of the best guards in football, and starting 2 rookies, The offense struggled wk 1 as a whole, and today we had to play catch up, but we ran it well at the end. Hopefully it improves as i think it will definitely get plenty of attention this wk leading up to the Jags game. I think fi we establish it early and get some good runs against the jags, our confidence will be high and be able to do it effectively.
Nice win ravens, i love this team.
Am i the only that didn't know he was even playing Sunday? I didn't know he fully recovered from his finger injury. I look forward to playing him. I was looking forward to seeing Watson on the field but, we have a lot of depth at TE. Pitta, Gillmore, Williams, Boyle, Waller. Not worried
12 million in cap space. I expect some moves Ozzie. Unless you plan on running off with it.
Sign a safety or a corner, or both
What the hell is wrong with Campanraro, he's so weak and fragile. All he does is get hurt and collects a check. He's useless. Why is he even on IR anyway, we never heard about him getting injured?
3-time pro bowl gaur Josh Sitton release by Packers, could be a good pick up because I don't trust Urschel
We also just worked out Devin Hester WR/ KR so he may be joining the Ravens as well, So that could explain the Jeremy Butler Cut
Yea probably
I sort of liked Butler, as he was basically the only WR that produced anything in the preseason, and none of the other guys outside of Moore seem to be special teams contributors. But I am not really going to get upset about the 6th receiver being dropped, as he probably wouldnt have seen many snaps anyway. Thank god the arthur brown, elam, brooks era is over. the drafts were horrid.
Remaining players, starting with 2009 - 1, 2010 - 1, 2011 - 1, 2012 - 0, 2013 - 4.
That is 5 years of draft, and it only yielded 7 players. Scary.
Hope that was just a bad run and we can start rebuilding the depth.
We still have Elam. I dare you to say Brooks wasn't impressive, he was a tackling machine, hit hard, and was either this close to a int, or made it incomplete at least
23 hours ago, Drinkmore Beer said:Wish Butler had made the squad, but with a healthy Perriman, SSS, Wallace, and Aiken, his playing time would have been nil. Can he still go to the PS? I don't understand releasing Ochi and Brooks to keep Kendrick Lewis. Hope they can bring back Ochi on the PS. That guy can play.
Ochi wasn't impressive, not to be mean but I didn't really care that he was released, but I was a full supporter of Terrence Brooks, and they could've easily kept him over James Hurst who was responsible for Joe getting hurt when he let the defender hit him. I pray to god he comes back. Elam over Brooks is awful. Brooks outplayed him by a country mile. He was stronger, faster, more aggressive and hungry. I could see Brooks delivering a big hit over the middle for a fumble or incomplete pass, but not Elam, or Lewis.
Judon has really impressed me.. this guy is more then just a potential rotational player. He has been everywhere on defense... possible future starter
Possible future star
I have been disappointed for several years by the draft selections in the early rounds. I guess it proves you probably only hit on 1 out of 3 guys you draft at a position, if you are lucky. If Judon pans out, they basically wasted Correa and Kaufusi picks to me. But who knows, maybe they will improve as time goes on. Judon looks like a formidable pass rusher, and should be lining up on the outside to utilize his edge rush ability. I would not hesitate to play him equal snaps to Suggs to keep both guys fresher and allow Suggs to stay healthy as the season wears on.
How does his success make Correa and Kafusi wasted picks? Im trying but I have no way of even trying to figure out how that makes since
Still would love to see us put Dean Pees on IR!
The players need to be together, all the players. Our most valuable players haven't reach the field yet. This is a work in progress and it's going to take some time. I see a winning season but it will be a challenge to get to post season play. Pees shouldn't be blamed for everything.
He shouldn't be a DC, his time has come & gone. We will never have a dominant defense as long as he is with us. Harbaugh has to open his
open his eyes to reality.
He doesn't decide who gets fired y don't y'all get that
I have a couple predictions
I think we keep 7 wr's with SSS, PERRIMAN, AIKEN, WALLACE, CAMPANARO, BUTLER, and MOORE.
I think Tavon Young becomes a starter early in the season. With wright and Powers struggling.
I think Terrence Brooks starts in place of Lewis at some point in the season
And I think ppl need to stop panicking over the bills defense wk1. They underperformed last year and honestly don't worry me.
Not sure why there's concern about the D when Suggs and Doom weren't out there. That changes everything. I'm ecstatic that we're actually forcing turnovers!
Moore looked legit and I think he'll be making some big plays for us this season; Butler too.
Perriman coming back probably hurts one of these guys. That's a shame both have looked decent so far and it would seem that with more reps, they would get only better. Some of those reps go away now.
Here's what I want to know. Suggs tore his Achilles, and he's back. SSS totally ripped his Achilles and he's back. Flacco tore his ACL or MCL, and he's back. Forsett broke his arm and he's back.
But Perriman, with what was originally reported to be a knee strain before the preseason last year, is only just starting to return to the field for drills.
WHAT AREN'T THEY TELLING US? No knee injury has ever sidelined a guy this long, that I can remember. If Flacco is back, Perriman should have been back months ago.
Not true. He went down the latest and they didn't want a repeat of last year. He's back now that's all that matters
This defense is very reminiscent of the 2014 defense. We were like top 5 or 10 in red zone defense at least most the season, but the secondary would give up space. We tightened up in the playoffs when we played the steelers and then gave up two 14 point lead against the pats and lost in the division round. I would hate for something like that to happen again. I hope we can tweak things and get on board for wk1, BC if pees has our defense or at least the secondary looking like the last 3 seasons, he's done. And to ppl who don't know, harbaugh may have a voice but he don't decide who gets fired oz does
And that's why we got Benjamin
I really feel for him, he was getting better and better then this happened. Sorry to say but I think he's done
OMG!!! I can't believe it, now its time for him to shine
I hope Ozzie can sign a veteran corner like Antonio Cromartie before the season starts as well as trading for a LB. l would love to get somebody like Paul Posluszny from the Jaguars or something because we got somebody like Eugene Monroe unexpected so you never know. Might not happen, but you never know unless you give them a call. ?
I cant believe we didn't sign Freeman when he was available. I think we missed out big time there. I was thinking about Cromartie and I don't like the thought of him being a full time corner. However I LOVE the idea of bringing him in to be a redzone corner. Once teams get inside about the 40, having him and Jimmy on the outside would be excellent. I think they're both about 6'2. That would also really reduce the chances of him getting burned deep like last year. His speed might be fading, but I think he would be a great situational CB for us. As far as MLB, I don't think anybody at all knows what's gonna happen there....Orr, KC, Arthur Brown, Weddle at times, hopefully not McCleallan, a trade. MLB is a mystery right now
MLB really isn't a mystery, it seems like Orr wrapped up the starting job next to Mosley.
If he's running he can practice, point blank

That would be great if Joe had enough time to throw deep
