  1. Bummed about Renner being released. If Mallett was pouting or rebelling about losing the starting job in Houston, I am not confident that he will be content to be a back up here without some possible negative undercurrent. Hope I am wrong but Mallett obviously thinks he is starting material and did not handle being a back up like a pro in Houston. Just hope Mallett is truly accepting the 2016 role of a backup. There's no way Mallett will replace a healthy Joe so I hope he has his head straight about his role.

  2. I never thought I would see the day that our defense could be downright embarrassing to watch, in particular the secondary yesterday. The long standing, proud defensive reputation of the Ravens has disappeared. It is sad to acknowledge that fact and I hope that the FO is ready to take whatever tough measures are necessary to return the Ravens to being a dominant defensive force in the league. Yes, maybe Baltimore fans are spoiled with a terrific defense for all these years but I won't be a happy camper until the Ravens elevate the defense back to at least respectability and from there, hopefully return to top notch form. The team and the fans deserve better than what we have seen this year from our secondary. Whether the problem is the DC, the position coaches and/or the players, we can't go in to next year expecting more bandaids to fix a situation which has become a gaping, oozing wound.

  3. The Ravens were served a heaping helping of humble pie yesterday. A blow out this bad should strip away any illusion that we are only a few healthy players short of being in contention. Getting dominated in so many ways will hopefully result in actually making far more significant changes in the off season, ranging from players to coaches etc.. The only silver lining to that beat down is that it will lead to an even deeper and more open evaluation of what changes must be made if we realistically expect to rebound next year. In particular, start with a cold, hard look  at the DC position and also re-evaluate the position coaches, not just totally blame the players.

  4. Although I was really hoping that Renner would have played at least some of the game. I have to admit that Clausen exceeded my expectations. Granted, my expectations of Clausen were pretty low but he was able to make some decent throws and spread the ball nicely to Aiken, D Brown and Butler better than I thought he would. I am still a big fan of Renner but it is clear that Clausen did well enough against a great defense to earn more snaps. Just hope we get to see a bit of Renner as well.

  5. Ravens ended up being manhandled for sure this game. However, I am glad that Daniel Brown is proving that he can hold his own in a regular season game against a quality opponent. Hope Daniel continues to develop and that he makes the roster next year. Daniel Brown has a lot of potential.

  6. Ouch. No surprise that zero pundits picked the Ravens to win against Seattle. Can't be any more of an underdog than we are this week. However, if the Ravens could scrape their way to a miracle win, I would be almost as excited as a playoff victory, given how few and far between the victories have been this year and that the Ravens are given no shot at all to win this game. Any given Sunday.....

  7. My sentiment exactly Salamander!  Also the players on this team have learned a myriad of valuable lessons throughout this year, too many to list, that will surely serve them well in upcoming seasons.

How right you are Grapple about the value of all the experience and lessons learned this year.  There could also be other unforeseen positives we can't envision, until the next season plays out with the benefit of hindsight. I don't feel all doom and gloom about next year, I feel that this bump in the road will smooth out soon. Plug some holes,  get relatively healthy, draft and trade wisely, etc.. and the Ravens will be back strong next season.

  8. No matter how many losses or how poorly the team plays at times, my passion for our team has never waivered, nor will it. I am behind this team 100%. All I need to get through this year is to know that the team will play with heart and play to win for the entire 60 minutes, regardless of the outcome.  Proud of this team for sticking together and fighting through every obstacle and disappointment thrown at them.

  9. Interesting choice of words from Harbs whether Monroe "wants to play" vs saying whether Monroe is "able to play". The former seems to imply that Monroe is able to take the field but may be choosing not to. Playing through pain vs playing which would cause further injury are 2 completely different things. Either way, Monroe has not been coming through for the team and I think Harbs does question whether Monroe "wants" to play.

  10. I'm just hoping that the supposed "Law of Averages" is a valid concept and that next year will balance out this "whatever can go wrong, will go wrong" season. Since we have stockpiled so many injuries and a host of so may other negative things to derail this season, I am hoping the law of averages will level out and skip over us a bit next year. We went way over the norm, there has literally been a mountain of obstacles. I sure hope next season we will rebound strong with much smoother sailing on all fronts. If not, I will most likely be in need of a straight jacket.

  11. I know there was a fair amount of concern that Daniel Brown may not be able to succeed against first string NFL players, that he was from a small school, etc. .Actually, I couldn't care less about that. Many good players previously overlooked came from small schools. The problem has been overcoming that hurdle to get a fair shot to prove themselves. I am all for giving Daniel Brown a lot of reps with the remainder of the season to possibly find a real diamond in the rough kind of receiver.

  12. When Marlon Brown continued to struggle with drops, I was hoping Daniel would have been given his chance weeks ago. I was really impressed with Daniel Brown in the pre-season, regardless of whether he was playing 3rd or 4th string players. Daniel did his job yesterday with an unfairly nullified TD and dominated a defender on another play. I am just glad that they are finally giving Daniel Brown the opportunity to contribute. He earned the chance in the pre-season and went a long way towards proving himself on the field yesterday.

  13. One of the bright spots was seeing Daniel Brown getting some opportunities. Daniel was robbed of his first NFL TD. Still mad about that bad call. On another pass, Daniel was awesome and shucked that defender right off of him like a gnat. Let's keep this kid on the field and see if he develops in to something special...we need a tough WR like Daniel and he has the raw materials, the size, hands and strength to be a real good WR.
