  1. With so many behavior issues cropping up across the league, the tough love and forewarned stance about little to no tolerance for certain screw ups may be the only way to get through to some of these players, especially the rookies. It doesn't take much for players to throw away everything they have spent their lives working for over some knucklehead decision that could derail a future career in an instant. There will always be some players who will never heed the warnings and listen to the wisdom imparted to them. However, tough love guidance and knowing the consequences ahead may be the most important key to insure that (hopefully) the vast majority will not blow their awesome opportunity to make it in the NFL.

  2. My first inclination is in favor of a PAT rule change to make the game more interesting. With the old rule, the boring PAT is such a given that I go do something rather than watch it. However, I have a sneaking suspicion I will be the first one screaming to the high heavens if we lose a game by a blown PAT decision or bad execution. Cautiously optimistic but don't trust that this new rule could bite us in the backside and cost us a win. As long it just works against our opponent every time a game is at stake, then hey, all is good. Better practice up on my best string of 4 letter words just in case it costs us a game. It had better not cost us or my opinion on this new rule could change mighty quick.

  3. Someone seems to be cranky today. Just saw a bunch of negs on comments all down the page, even undoing some of the ups I gave. It was just about everyone got a neg. Tried to undo the negativity. It was pretty much across the board and pretty much the entire page full of comments were positive and non controversial. Please troll somewhere else.

  4. When it comes to athletic clothing or uniforms, I think men can be just as particular about what they wear as females. Some men have athletic shoe closets to rival the best of the female shoe junkies these days. Same thing for clothes. The ugliness of those bumble bee uniforms is a fun conversation..... what I would consider to be a humiliating "wardrobe malfunction" ....Those uniforms are worthy of a snickering snide remark or 2 at the expense of the Steelers who look so silly in them, don't you think?

  5. Compared to how I felt a few months ago in regards to my concerns and doubts about whether the Ravens can fill enough gaping holes in the off season, I am far happier than I could have envisioned. Considering the cap room circumstances, that B- should be an A. I am actually relieved, optimistic and applaud some very smart moves this off season to make the most of the hand we were dealt.

  6. I just posted a comment about Harbaugh's commencement speech on LFW. Anyone know how to transfer a comment under 1 article and move it over to another article? Please let me know how. I attended my son's graduation from Stevenson University today. John is an excellent speaker...inspiring, down to earth and funny. I am hoping that my son absorbed John's "Guide to Success" fully. Follow those principals and these graduates should not only be successful, but happy as well. The parents were nodding their heads in approval with every comment. John has a lot of practical wisdom and nailed some valuable qualities needed in this life. Baltimore has a coach to be proud of...great coach...great person of character. Thanks John for adding to a great day.

  7. Now that's one fine way to introduce Buck Allen to us fans in Raven's Nation. Excellent way to get to know a lot about his character and desire to make the most of this opportunity. I liked the challenge and reminder Buck gave to others that they can choose to become like 1 of the angels who looked out for him and helped him on his journey to the NFL. Welcome aboard Buck.

  8. It started out as an LOL comment.  (I keep forgetting that on this forum you have to include the LOL acronym for those less familiar with satire or humorous exaggeration)  But then after I thought about it a while after I had posted it I began to like the idea of watching somebody trying to knock a ball out of the air.  You must admit it is more interesting than watching an event more predictable than grass growing.  The shotgun part I agree is a bit much for the football crowd.  Maybe hockey or MMA fans would be more interested in that aspect.

You had me laughing. I love the idea of selling the birdshot territory seats at a discount. I mean hey, it's only fair to pay less if you may get accidentally shot.

  9. I have a more interesting idea for the boring PAT problem. When a team lines up for the PAT in the usual position have the opposing QB on the sideline with another football. When the game football is kicked the QB will throw his football, trying to hit the game football before it goes through the uprights and knock it off course. Sort of like hunting quail or grouse. I originally imagined using a shotgun loaded with birdshot but I thought that might be hard on balls, not to mention fans seated opposite the man with the shotgun. But then I guess they could always sell those seats at a discount.

is it safe to presume you are just kidding? Looks like someone took you seriously. Is this a LOL moment or do we need to get the straight jackets? LOL.... hopefully.

  10. Kraft is posturing that he took the "high road" to accept this unfair punishment to his team for the good of the league. Blah, blah.... What is behind this smoke screen is that in his desperate inquiries to find ways to defeat the ruling on appeal, Kraft probably went from bad to worse.... finding out that the Pats would only dig themselves a deeper grave. A nice spin on "guilty as charged".

  11. So what else is new? Flacco getting slighted as usual. Joe is Mr. Laid Back and doesn't let the critics rattle him. But Joe is a fierce competitor in his own quiet and confident way. Joe will just go about his business and win games. I hope that this year we have the personnel behind Joe with a dominant and consistent offense to shut some of the critics up who unfairly rip him to shreds in the regular season.

  12. Interesting that Joe is a Ninja Warrior fan. Pro football players have tried it with varying degrees success. Mostly, football players have too much mass to last the course without their arms giving out. Great athleticism of contestants, a different type of athlete worth admiring. Glad Joe is a fan. You can see some amazing feats. Even world class athletes like Joe can't do the courses as well, mostly due to body type. If you haven't watched the show, you may not want to start....cuz you will find yourself tuning in each week, addicted

  13. lol you're quite the optimist.

They dont have to pay any of those people, non disclosure agreement and the threat of near poverty if they open their mouth about anything is more than enough to handle that problem and far more legal than a bribe.

lol. Optimist? Actually, I'm quite the pessimist....at least as far as the Pats are concerned. I realize the nondisclosure agreement is supposed to be sufficient to deter blabbing. However, a little added incentive of cash, etc on the sly, otherwise known as a bribe, to me is well within the realm of what's possible by someone in the Pats organization. An optimist would be someone who believes that a non disclosure agreement would be enough to prevent this keg of dynamite from blowing up. Sure, the threats and reminders have probably already been made about non disclosure. Grease the wheels with a little extra incentive? Also, aren't repeated bribes the foundation of this entire fiasco, bribing with jerseys, shoes, etc.. Yeah, guess I am a pessimist. I prefer to call myself a realist though. LOL
