  1. Always have to remind myself that SSS has only been here a year. SSS fits the Ravens mindset so perfectly that it sometimes seems like he has always been a Raven. As much as we benefit from his contributions on the field, I think SSS's contribution as a mentor is just as important to our future. I hope SSS can influence this young WR group to mentally approach the game with the same passion, energy and intensity. If every player he mentors can emulate even a piece of SSS's attitude, the sky's the limit for this offense.
  2. The Ray Lewis retirement added fuel to the fire in that Super Bowl run. One day somebody in Hollywood is going to actually make that Ray Lewis movie, the storybook ending pretty much wrote itself. If done right, I think it could be a big box office hit and eventual sports movie classic.
  3. Even worse than not being able to rewatch the Evans Drop and Cundiff fail plays again against NE, I have never been able to bring myself to watch any replay of that whole game. I tried once and but turned it off because I was obsessing about and anticipating reliving the heartbreak. Hit the DVR delete button on that game.
  4. I was just entertaining an absurd scenario. But crazy things and screw ups do happen in this life so never say never. I didn't think a false arrest from such obviously wrong mistaken identity could have possibly happened to the person I know til it happened. I am totally not worried about Joe and I thought the police comment saying the suspect is not Joe Flacco was funny. In fact, I can imagine the brass laughing nervously at the nightmare possibility of a false arrest and specifically warn every officer that they had better not show up at the station with Joe Flacco in handcuffs.
  5. I actually know someone who was arrested a few years ago and taken to jail that the police thought looked like the suspect in some surveillance photos. The suspect had far LESS or NO real resemblance at all to the arrested person. This guy has some likeness to Joe in the 1 photo. So, yes, it is very unlikely but possible to happen. I can only imagine the ugly scene with his superiors if some overly eager young officer foolishly pulled up to the station with Joe in handcuffs in the back seat. The Ravens web site and national media would go bonkers. LOL.
  6. Thanks for the tip....I should have figured that 1 out but my brain cells must have stopped firing.....again
  7. What is RSR? Tried to google it but nothing came up. What is it? What is actual website? thanks
  8. As soon as I posted that comment about having fewer than normal or sparse rehashing articles during vacation week, I saw the next article. Ironically, Ryan Mink simultaneously posted a "home run" with his outstanding article about Trestman with what I feel is the best and most interesting article of his I have ever read. Ryan came through with exactly the type of fresh article I was referring to and hoping for to cover vacation week, a different in-depth perspective of a member of the Ravens . Hats off to Ryan Mink.
  9. Ryan Mink, I think this is 1 of the most informative and well written articles you have ever posted. I learned more about Marc Trestman in this segment than all other articles I've read combined. Not only did I learn about his in-depth history as a coach but there were good insights about his character and how those experiences and failures shaped who he is today and his approach to the game. This is exactly the type of article I was hoping the writing staff could prepare in advance of vacation week. Excellent article Ryan.
  10. OK. So it's vacation week for the Raven's staff. Here's my unentitled and unsolicited 2 cents. Next year, when the staff knows vacations will be coming, maybe store up a few more articles, perhaps include some of a slightly different focus to fill out the week? All articles don't have to be current news. No need to bother to attempt to create a new spin on a similar existing story. Months or weeks ahead, why not save up a few special interest kind of stories and have them spread across the week while you taking well deserved vacations? Perhaps look in to the life of 1 of the players, their charities or explore their journey of ups and downs on the way to the NFL? Or write about what 1 of our former popular players is doing with their life post football. Consider it a compliment if website fans want the same amount of quality stories to continue even if the staff is on vacation. Take off, party on, chill out, enjoy the beach or whatever. Get a break from work and have a blast. But some of us fans really look forward to our daily dose of the website and enjoy the fan opinions and banter evoked from the articles. Just offering a few thoughts to get through vacation week to keep website fans just as engaged. In general, thanks to the writing staff for your efforts all year long to keep us informed and to give us something to chat about. Have fun this week.
  11. Ravens have done pretty well despite the disadvantage of playing away in the playoffs. Home field advantage is our goal to bolster our chances at a deep run to the Super Bowl.
  12. It will be interesting to revisit this question after the season as well. So many new players with limited or no NFL experience. It's fun to speculate now but I would imagine we will be in for a few surprises by those who exceed and those who fall short of expectations, not to mention injuries. I am just very pleased with how things are shaping up for this year and hope a lot of our young players really make an impact to end up on everyone's top 20 list. If some of these young players can step right in and be successful in the NFL to supplement our vets, the Ravens could be very tough to beat this year.
  13. I am glad that some staff are around to write articles this week because in last week's LFW Garrett said LWF and office staff would be on vacation this week. Checking in with the Raven's website is a part of my routine so I took it to mean no articles this week. I am relieved that not everybody bolted the same week or wrote some articles in advance. I enjoy the comments from the fans just as much as the articles so I appreciate the writers seeing and filling the need to keep some articles flowing. P.S.. The segments on rookie camp are good and this was perfect time to introduce them. P.S.S. I have been on some other team websites which are really very basic and limited when compared to our excellent and varied Ravens website. At least the Ravens make a decent effort at bringing a lot of content and provide a good format for discussion.
  14. I am more than fine with leaving Ray Lewis in my comment. There will never be another Ray but it is certainly reasonable to hope C J has a long and productive career in Baltimore like Ray Lewis did. C J is a special player and I am grateful Ozzie found such a worthy linebacker to ease the pain of losing legendary Ray to retirement.
  15. C J Mosley has been an outstanding linebacker from Day 1 as a rookie. C J could very well end up being a HOF player himself if he continues to develop and stay healthy. Amazing talent and I hope he can anchor this defense for his entire career like Ray Lewis did.
  16. This is could be a long week for Ravens junkies with the staff writers on vacation. Hey, we need some folks to start more new threads to keep us out of withdrawal.
  17. Terrell was back to his old pumped up, feisty self last night on Family Feud. Whew. Stay feisty Terrell.
  18. John Harbaugh's impromptu guest appearance on Mailbag was great. I am particularly stoked about his enthusiasm projecting great things out of Joe this year. John's answers were off the cuff and provided interesting insights in to what we can accomplish this year. Best Mailbag segment yet. Ryan and Garrett, get John a pair of those "cool shades" he liked and maybe you can bribe him to revisit the show?
  19. EVERY draft pick, EVERY year in EVERY position is simply an "educated risk". Rather than suggest the Ravens are jinxed in the first round with 2 disappointing WR picks, why not "third time's a charm"? I am optimistic about Perriman developing in to an outstanding WR.
  20. Glad the purple shades came off a bit to review a few players where they need to get better. Although I would love it if every player was doing great or dominating so far, it isn't realistic. I appreciate knowing what areas the players need to improve upon. So many articles, pressers and clips focus on the successes, which is great, but I am often curious about getting a more balanced view, including the imperfections and specifically on where we have the most needs for growth. Ravens have a great group of young talent to watch develop.
  21. Every source I have found also sets target date for a ruling just before training camp. Amazing how unnecessarily complicated and drawn out this process is. The lawyers are making a killing here. I wonder how many millions are being squandered by Brady and the Pats to try to pimp and polish their lies.
  22. Where did you hear that? I hope it's true that a ruling will be closer to a day. Don't feel like waiting weeks as multiple sources reported yesterday.
  23. I heard it may take weeks for Goddell to reach a decision and the Pats Homer Media Spinsters will be out in full force til then, trying to sway public sentiment. In other words, I will have many opportunities to vomit between now and then. Binge on the biased media, vomit, change channels or websites, vomit again. Binge and purge. Binge and purge.
  24. I had been thinking the exact same thing, Ray Rice would have been an extremely impactful speaker at the Rookie Symposium. There is no more appropriate player in the NFL than Rice who could deliver the message about magnitude of extreme consequences. Beloved by fans 1 day, unemployed as a hated villain the next. I realize there may be valid reasons to not want Ray Rice there. However, if the criteria in choosing a speaker on DV was to make an impact to get the attention of the rookies, Ray Rice was the perfect man to discuss real life consequences. Perhaps the NFL blew their best opportunity with a speaker who would have jolted every rookie to see how easy it truly is lose it all.
  25. Exactly right Mod 3. I am sure Brady rehearsed his lines and whole demeanor non stop over the past few months with his attorneys. Brady probably even practiced his facial expressions of sincerity in the mirror. Behind the theatrics and spin is still the same deceitful, cheating Brady. I hope Goddell sticks to his guns.
