  1. Since the repeated references to Matt's struggles always include confidence issues, I am reluctant to harshly criticize him publically on the website. Sure, Matt has his shortcomings, but if disaster happens and Matt has to come in and take over, he is going to need every drop of confidence he can muster. Confidence is a huge issue for a lot of players and going through the humiliation of losing a starting QB job has got to be a confidence killer. Just hoping Matt can build some confidence and I wish him the best.
  2. Paying closer attention to those interceptions against Flacco for sure. But some good picks were made on Flacco throws, which gives me hope for improvement this year for turnovers from our defense. I am excited also and hopeful that our secondary will play at a very high level.
  3. For me, there's nothing like creating a turnover to dial up my excitement. There's no bigger momentum shifter than taking the ball away from the other team, which can also demoralize the opposition. Hope the decent number of interceptions in training camp so far will continue in to game situations during the season. Turnovers can be the difference between a win or a loss so hoping that aspect of the game is elevated this year.
  4. Perriman is still MIA. Must be 1 hell of a bruise and I hope that there is nothing more serious going on with that knee. Hoping we are just playing it smart and safe, being ultra conservative to not put him at any further risk. Just hope that Perrriman is healthy enough to return soon to get in the needed reps. Fingers crossed. Look forward to seeing Perriman become an integral and dynamic part of this offense.
  5. That absolutely was a classy move for Harbaugh to ask Billick to address the team. Says a lot about both men, to not get tangled up in egos or past history. Seems like it meant a lot to Billick, as well as being an inspiring message for Harbaugh and the team. Seeing this makes me proud to be a Ravens fan.

  7. Early this morning I read a very hostile article accusing the Ravens of tipping off the Colts. The article was supposedly some pro-Pats reporter on Yardbarker. After all of the accusations and criticism of the Ravens, the end of the article ends with a brazen comment, THE RAVENS ARE LIARS. How irresponsible and slanderous can some of these so called reporters be? It's pretty low to read such a desperate attempt to deflect attention away from the real liars and cheaters. I resent false allegations and attempts to drag the Ravens in to the gutter the Pats created. Glad the Ravens cleared it up.
  8. Yes, I would root for Ray on another team. Not only that, I hope he has a rather successful comeback if some team takes a chance on him. I know age is becoming an issue, along with the comparative dip in production. However, Ray is possibly in great physical shape and maybe his body has recovered well from past injuries and wear and tear? Looks like the video was the "Kiss of Death" career-wise but I think Ray deserves a chance. Question is, is there a team out there who won't shy away from the backlash sure to follow. Good luck to Ray. I'm rooting for him.
  9. Even the best intentions can easily go by the wayside when consuming 2 fifths of hard liquor between 4 people. I can't help but believe that excessive alcohol consumption played a key role in Ray's behavior so completely out of character and out of control. No matter what, Ray is 100% responsible for his actions. However, my personal belief is that I doubt the incident would have even occurred if Ray was sober. Extreme alcohol consumption can contribute to some very unfortunate, regrettable, life-altering outcomes.
  10. As the former victim of several deadly diaper blows, my deepest sympathies to Justin. However, it could have been worse. I once had a nasty diaper blast into my lap and another diaper disaster go down my arm and all over and embedded in to a SHAG rug. Imagine cleaning that disgusting mess. Raising young ones can be a stinky affair. Hang in there Justin.
  11. Naturally I tended to get more excited to watch the first team players last night at M&T. I reminded myself several times to pay attention to the second and third string players just as closely. Some of those players down the depth chart today may end up filling in or starting and being our saving grace. You never really know who or what position ends up the most vulnerable. It may be some of the current little known or unexpected backups who end up emerging as Super Heroes to literally keep the Ravens on course and in viable Super Bowl contention. Quality depth is the key.
  12. Great to get out to M&T last night. Nothing like seeing so many new players practice with my own 2 eyes. When SSS came out of a contact play limping, my heart sank. I was so relieved to see him come back in rather quickly. It would be a disaster to lose SSS so I hope contested catches are amped back a dash to reduce the chances of a freak injury to any receiver or defender. Need to get through camp healthy. Tucker was amazing.
  13. Wouldn't surprise me in the least if C.J. Mosley has a HOF career. And I am hoping C. J. and Ozzie will find a way to have him spend his whole career here as a Raven.
  14. Despite initial reassurances that some reported tweaks and bruises aren't serious, I am concerned for the potential seriousness for each and every minor injury. The tweak or bruise could actually be more significant than originally thought or open the door for a significant injury if they go back out there too soon. Not worth the risk. I am in 100% agreement that the staff take the ultra-conservative approach and sit players out and hope a tweak remains just a tweak. The ultra cautious approach will help us get through camp as healthy as possible. Every initial non serious injury report makes me a little nervous.
  15. Sounds like the defense put the pressure on today. Good. Having the offense up against a tough defense is only going to help the offense get that much better, that much faster.
  16. Buckle up that chin strap. Now the real test starts.
  17. I like the atmosphere and culture Harbaugh is creating. I bet some of those rookies are in awe right now, taking it all in, realizing the dream is here and now. Must be a great feeling to walk in to meetings and on to the field being part of the best organization in all of football.
  18. Beanfigger, if wild ,predatory, dangerous animals materialize on the Pats opponents sideline it's going to be all your fault. Don't you know better than to encourage Belichick with any more suggestions in creative cheating? Great analogy, gave me one chuckle of a visual image.
  19. Great quote from Harbaugh summing up the 2014 season, "I'm pissed but I'm proud." Are we Super Bowl contenders this year? Absolutely. All of the rookies and new players also need to understand exactly what Harbaugh feels and means. The 2015 mantra mindset should be, "GET PISSED. STAY PISSED. PLAY PISSED." If that's the attitude, the Ravens have great odds in walking away with the Lombardi this year.
  20. SSS is spinning the ball in 1st practice already. Love the attitude. As the saying goes, "you play like you practice". Glad this veteran is setting the mental standard. Keep it spinning SSS.
  21. Glad to be drama and controversy free going in to training camp. Tom Brady continues to stir the pot and amp up the distractions in New England. Meanwhile, here in Baltimore, let's hope all of our players stay healthy, tow the line with personal conduct and raise the bar on the practice field.
  22. Nothing would make me happier than to see this offense have a great training camp, have the pieces slide smoothly in to place, then sky rocket in to one of the most balanced top tier offenses in the league. Each year, my expectation of the defense is high. This year, my expectation for our offense is equally high. The Ravens offense is potentially on the brink of something great.
  23. Rough and tough dudes selling their softer side to prevent animal abuse is the perfect way to use their celebrity status for the greater good. Thanks to all the macho men out there with a heart who participated.
  24. Classy response from Ed saying Ray Lewis would get his vote as the greatest Raven of all time. Way to show loyalty to his teammate. It says a lot about Ed's character, their close relationship and Ed's respect for Ray. Ravens fans were blessed to have 2 of the greatest players at their positions of all time in not just Raven's history, but the best in the history of the entire NFL.
  25. Sal Pal was irresponsible to have made inflammatory and blatantly untrue comments without first verifying the accuracy of his intended statements. However, I must admit that it is refreshing to see that he at least stepped up to take responsibility rather than slither away in silence, staunchly defend himself or try to spin/downplay that he was in the wrong. In other words, since Sal "manned up", I'm not as irritated as I would be otherwise. I would be a whole lot less pissed off at Tom Brady had he "manned up" about DeflateGate right away. Controversy wouldn't still be going round and round 8 months later.
