Hi all! I'm a former EMT and brain hemorrhage/stroke survivor since November 2011. Born and raised in Bronx, NY. Yankees fan since forever. I was never really into football, though I'd always watch games and host Super Bowl parties back in the day. I'd choose teams based on the colors of their uniforms.
I really got into football after watching Michael Oher's story in The Blind Side. I've been a hard-core Ravens fan ever since. I've even learned enough about the game to know what's going on! The fact that Oher was traded this season has changed nothing. I will always be a Ravens fan. Once I'm loyal, I stay loyal.
I made my first ever trip to Baltimore this year and a friend took me to see M&T Stadium where they play. I'm crossing my fingers that I'll be able to watch a home game next season.
I live in Monroe County, Pennsylvania now and I can tell you that they're not too fond of my boys up here. That doesn't stop me from sporting my gear during football season. ![]()
When I'm not cheering on my boys, I spend my time working on my recovery, spending as much time with close family and friends as possible, taking care of my beloved Lhasa Apso Sophie, blogging, writing, book reviewing, stroke awareness and prevention advocacy, civil and human rights advocacy, photography, reading. My goals are to be able to drive again, work again--even if it's only part time, and make a positive difference.
