Boyle is an unproven guy and hasn't shown anything. Gillmore is one of the best if not the best tight end in the league. It is like having another tackle out there. The guy hasn't played because of injuries. There is no possible way you think Boyle is actually better than Gillmore at this point.

You do mean blocking tight end right?

Definately agree with rossihunter2, all points are valid and Twickenham would be absolutely awesome.

    my two cents:

as a raven from the uk there does seem to be a surprisingly large following here in the uk and i assume that as a team that isn't particularly accessible to overseas fans that this game could end up full of ravens fans which would obviously be great if the ravens could take over what is ostensibly a home game for the jags (if we do go next year)

the 9:30 thing is weird that they would go away from it because the reason they moved away from playing at 1 is all about making the games better and also makes the london game more of an event back in the US - it gets its own tv spot rather than competing with all the other 1pm games

and in terms of stadiums if the nfl has a choice id suggest to them quite strongly to go to twickenham more than once vs wembley just because of the different cultures around the sports those two stadiums host and the way noise is generated - wembley is enormous but is a soccer stadium which inherently is segregated and the fans are miles away from the field - historically watching england soccer games there is uninspiring as the atmosphere is normally hideous despite the enormous numbers of people in the stadium - it is a stadium not that conducive to great atmospheres whereas on the other hand twickenham is a stadium built for rugby, a game with not completely dissimilar rules to american football and with similar values including a mostly fan friendly environment, respect, and noise lots of it.

Not too sure that the atmospheres are that different tbh. I've been to Wembley 3 times for footie and my team has whipped up an awesome atmosphere (Crystal Palace - Playoff Final and the Semi and Final of the FA cup last season. I've sat in all 3 tiers at Wembley and only the upper tier feels too far away and is lacking in atmosphere; the lower bowl is fantastic though. Obviously England games are going to have a terrible atmosphere as we haven't exactly been given anything to write home about and also the teams we've faced in qualifying have been terrible. I've been to Twickenham too to watch England rugby Internationals and there are LONG periods of near silence. Lastly I've gone to two NFL games at Wembley and the atmosphere has been terrible not because of the Stadium but just because of the fans; there are fans from every team there so usually never get a great atmosphere as most of the crowd doesn't care if the Jags etc score (I didn't); I hate to say it but the Squeelers had a massive following inside Wembley for their game and the atmosphere was good.

If it is the Ravens that are coming to London then I can't wait, we seem to have a sneaky big following over here and Wembley will definitely be purple that day. However everything just points to the NFL going with the Seahawks - they fulfil the same criteria that the Ravens do i.e. never played in London PLUS, and this is the tipping point, they're scrapping the 1pm UK time slot so Pacific coast teams fans have a friendlier viewing time back in the States.

Jags will draft Jack because of the Patriots two tight end game. Chargers will take Tunsil because it seems everyone forgot they spent a early first round pick on Melvin Gordon last year and looked horrible because the oline was horrible. Dallas needs a pass rusher bad. I see them surprising people and taking Shaq Lawson who is a beast. Ramsey is our guy just watch in one week!!! ?

Their front office would have to be psychic to plan for a team they can only meet if they get to the playoffs :D

  4. All of the major department stores, especially the sports related ones like Modells and Dicks Sporting Goods, should have some Ravens gear. Your mom's best bet would be to get to one of the large suburban shoping malls. That's an "American experience" unto itself.

Thank you so much. We've both been to the US but I've only ever been to NYC, she's been all over the place but it is her first time in DC. I will definitely pass on the message about the suburban shopping malls and she's there in time for Black Friday so I'm sure she'll have an "American experience" unlike anything she's ever seen haha. I appreciate it, thanks again.

  5. Hi guys, I just want to know if there are any shops in the DC area that sell Ravens jerseys. My mum is on holiday in your nation's Capital (we're from the UK) and I asked her to bring me back a new jersey as there is nothing over here Ravens related apart from a few caps. I do have a jersey but it's a 27 and I don't wear it (for obvious reasons). If anyone can let me know of any place then I can pass on the message to her and continue representing Ravens Nation this side of the pond.

    Thank you  ;)

  6. The biggest knock on Elam were his missed tackles, you cannot diagnose whether he's better at that from OTA's so it remains to be seen whether he has actually improved. The fact Elam played a few positions unfamiliar to him shouldn't be used to excuse his poor tackling; it also shouldn't cloud the fact that he played worse when moved to his natural position. Hope he steps up in the regular season, I think he will as he has the confidence of the coaches it seems.

  7. Br*dy deserves everything he has gotten...  From "The Tuck Rule" incident, to "The Brady Rule", to Spygate, to the "incident in the locker room against the Kansas City Chiefs", and now deflategate.  There is a long history, and the league has said enough is enough.  If they come back and knock down this punishment through the appeal process I will be very angry.  Surprised???  Yes, but more angry that they continually allow this crap to happen to no consequence.  The NFL MUST leave this punishment at what it is.

I agree with all of this but I honestly can't see how the punishment can be knocked down through an appeal. Surely for that to happen evidence clearing Brady of any wrongdoing would have to come to light; seeing as that's not going to happen, the NFL will have to leave the punishment as it is. I'm hoping TMZ or some other source somehow gets some hard evidence just like they did with Ray Rice and finally bring the cheatriots to it's knees.

  8. Love you, Ed!!!!!

I shudder at the reaction of either Ravens or Steelers nation if one gets in before the other.

Ed is eligible in 2019 as he didn't play last season. Troy in 2020. Reed will get in before, no question!

  9. Hey guys, new poster but LONG time lurker here. I'm from London, England. Got into American Football and specifically our Ravens in 1999, Ray Lewis was the first name in the NFL I had ever heard (admittedly it was because he was on the news over here and labelled as potentially the next OJ Simpson because of the trial at the time). Ed Reed will always be my favourite player though. My football team (soccer to you guys) over here is Crystal Palace and we had an affiliate team located in Baltimore called Crystal Palace Baltimore. Unfortunately that team folded but I feel there will always be a link there to this little part of South London and Baltimore, two blue-collar towns whose teams mean everything to their fans and we're ALWAYS the underdogs that other teams don't like to play against. Would love to come see a game at M&T one day, or maybe we'll be the road team for a Wembley game.
