Webb's 6 million in dead money is a sunk cost nothing is gonna change it and so it shouldn't be taken into consideration when making a decision. Currently, with his contract there is a cap hit of 9.5 mil which means cutting him and signing Whitner for 3 mil would save the team 500k in cap space and we get a proven player along side Weddle. Yes we have a lot of safeties but not a lot of proven quality except for Weddle. Webb transitioning to safety is a project that might work or might not... I'd rather go with the proven veteran in Whitner and save 500K in cap space...
