We knew SSS was going to retire, so why didn't we snatch Michael Floyd instead of the Pats? He knocked over 5 guys to score a TD for Brady last week. The reason the Pats contend for the SB every year isn't just Brady. They also have the best coaches and front office.

It's such bad preparation on our part to not bring in a really good wide receiver to get used to the system for when SSS did retire. Now he's gone and we're wondering where to go next.

That's the issue and that's why, despite their friendship, the duo needs to be broken up.  Flacco has such a tendency to look directly at Pitta if his first read isn't there.  That security blanket needs to be taken away from him, because there's been some serious regression when he knows Pitta is right there at all times.  He doesn't progress through any of his other reads.

It sort of reminds me of Stafford with Calvin Johnson.

I hope my boys chelsea can beat spuds and go 14 straight breaking a regular season win streak record. Will be harder at spurs ground though.

I'm hoping for at least a Spurs draw and a Liverpool win so we close the gap a little bit from 6 points. There's going to be a time when results aren't going your way, it'll be interesting to see how the entitled section of your fanbase deals with that.

Bob Bradley has been fired at Swansea City, I notice.

I suppose Swans are looking at ways to avoid relegation - at least for now.

He should never have been hired, it's an absolute farce. Now they go and hire Clement who struggled in the Championship with one of the league's better teams, it's not going to end well IMO.

I suppose it really depends on who you have as your coordinators at the time.

Let's say Adam Gase was your OC and your HC just got fired. If I'm the new HC, I look at what Gase has done (quite a bit of good as an OC) and say that he's worth keeping around.

Conversely, if I'm a new HC and there's Marty here at OC, I'm dismissing him.

While it's not common, there are times when a new HC keeps the same coordinator. If the Ravens offense or defense was doing really well the season that Harbaugh hypothetically gets fired, Ozzie could make keeping that guy a rule for any new HC. Or the new HC could just want to keep them.

    Thanks for that :).

  5. Hypothetical situation:

Pees & Marty are fired and Harbaugh is given one final season to improve. We fail to miss the playoffs again next year and Harbaugh is eventually fired. What are the chances of the new coach needing to replace the then current coordinators? In some cases you could argue it'd be better to just clear the lot out now and bring in a new HC and coordinators rather than possibly changing them yet again next year but I also get those that think he should get another year.

When is Harbaugh going to shoulder his fair share of the blame? He's to blame for hiring these coordinators too, when does his judgement get brought into question?

You know what Harbs will say after the game.... blah blah bla we played our hearts out bla bla we're very close to being Super Bowl bound bla bla

    As well as...

We have to play better. We have to make sure we play for a full game. We have to execute plays better etc. but without actually doing anything in practice to improve all of that.

If Juice falls down we very likely don't score at all. Can't blame him for scoring. I would say the Steelers were lucky that he made that acrobatic leap into the endzone. So many other plays, players and coaches we can blame. That was a heck of a play by Juice.

It wouldn't say very likely, if he falls at the 1 yard line then we have 4 attempts to get into the end zone. Can't knock him for making the play though, how was he to know the defense would play like amateurs on the final drive.

Yes, that is bad. The Offense had this game won if Pitta or Waller make those catches. However, the offense did get the lead in the fourth quarter with a long drive to let the defense rest. What happened? Suddenly they couldn't stop anything. And it's not like that's something new.

It just seems like the defense is always blameless, even when the offense gives them a lead in the 4th quarter.

Both are at fault. Offense for failing to convert FG's into TD's and the defense for giving up a 2 score lead and then for allowing the Steelers to get out of bounds whenever they wanted at the end.
