He was a superior athlete thats why he gained separation. He routes were bad. But I was surprised by his willingness to block. But yes he can be a matchup nightmare while still being ok as a blocker. He is immensly raw but has serious upside and potential. Just needs a good Coach, buy in and time.

And he was in my top 3 for 3.30

Yes I do agree his routes were bad.  He tended to round out his routes, but that is coachable.  Agree he needs a good coach.  It will also help that he is not the number 1 TE on the field as I do have Barnidge.

    1. Correct, those are special players. I thought that was kind of the goal was it not... playmakers? Or are we just looking for another plodder who averages 4.0 YPC? I mean if you think that's good enough, so be it. I see a mountain full of 3rd and 4th round picks in this draft that I think can do that in their sleep, so why would I pay $2M for that?

    2. LOL, I didn't choose one statistic. I chose many statistics. My other post listed about 5 different statistical reasons why he's a declining RB. That's not something you did. You picked the most recent year and assumed that because he did it last year, he would do it again this year. I don't think I have to explain the gigantic fallacy in that.

    3. No, I'd rather have West. I want a guy who has the potential to break a run more than 5 yards, and can actually get a bit more than what is blocked for him.

Its sort of a pointless question though, because I'm not interested in signing a RB for a single season. That accomplishes very little for us.

Another reason to take West over Blount outside of the cost is that he is a head case and that WILL NOT FLY in Baltimore.

Juju Schuster-Smith I think could develop into a Boldin type reciever.

Adam Shaheen is a big TE with speed and good catching ability.  Small schooled so the step up will be great, will need to learn to block better.

Definitely needs to learn to block better and s little stuff but could really turn out to be a very good TE.

As a Giants fan I have always been fond of Belichick. He's at least partially responsible for all 4 of our Lombardi trophies.

Yep, Bill Parcells DC in two

seems like the two teams that played BB well were the Coughlin Giants and the Ravens

I personally wouldn't be too upset with Conley or Humphrey at 16 if Lattimore and Wilson are gone.

I agree with that.  Feel Humphrey fits us to a T.  Like Tre White as well.

I like what I've been able to do with the Steelers so far. Managed to shed a bunch of age (although I didn't want to lose Cockrell in RFA it worked out alright and I'll take Cunningham in exchange effectively), and have managed to build a very young and promising defense with Peppers, Cunnigham, and Witherspoon, with just enough veteran talent and depth to keep it straight.

Not to mention keeping together a great O-Line, and adding Graham to a very talented offense while signing extra depth to my WR corps.

Losing Cockrell was a tough loss.  I picked him up last year in Draft a Franchise.   Cunningham in the 2nd is s steel. He's most likely going in the first round.

I'm a culprit at my latest pick, so I'll take some blame, but I agree.  The number of trades going on has really slowed the progress.  We did get 2 rounds in less than a week which isn't awful but we could be going a lot faster.

Two years ago we got through 100 picks in 8 days.  Last year I believe it was about this pace, maybe slower.

Rookies seldom make great centers. The center has to make so many pre-snap reads that rookies usually do need to grow into that position. It takes 2 or 3 yrs.
So I think that a trade if they don't sign Mangold is more likely for a center for this season. They can then draft a prospect later in the draft.

Whitehair was a 2nd round pick last year and was a top 10 center last year.  Yes, it doesn't happen that often, but it can without question be better than what we had last year.
