At this point in time it's hard for someone not to be part of the Walsh coaching tree.

That's correct, which is why I mentioned that Trestman is closer to the mike McCarthy version than the Kubiak/Shanahan version
Thanks, I'm aware of the Mike Shanahan/Kubiak/kyle connection.Shanahan gave Kubiak his job in Denver and they have Super Bowl rings together in the Elway era. They Kubiak hired Shanny's son, Kyle as is OC in Houston for 8 seasons. I think their all pretty well intertwined.
Also Mike Shanahan worked in San francisco under seifert as QB coach and OC. That's how he is connected to the wco

In Houston Kyle was qb coach and WR coach before becoming OC for Kubiak in 2008-10. Two seasons
Shanahan and Kubiak are not anything like Air Coryell. Two different types of offenses.Well trestman is more bill Walsh and Mike shanny/kubiak is more don coryell
I Dont think trestman respects the run game as much as shanny's/Kubiak does seeing how Bears run game fared this year
Mike martz
Joe Gibbs
Norv turner are examples of air coryell
Trestmnan fall under the George Seifert coaching tree, which includes Gary Kubiak, both Shanahans and even Pete Carroll. Gase was a great candidate, but Trestman looks like a better fit with minimal impact to the offense.
Siefert is from the wals coaching tree, but Shanahan changed the reads to look long before short passes. Thus the Kubiak and Shanahan branches of the WCO are a bit different. Most important is the verbiage is the same.
I picture mw just sitting around all day googling people's girlfriends, wives, and daughters (and maybe the occasional grandma).
I hope Chloe will wear Ravens jerseys as much as it appears she liked to wear Bears jerseys.
Chloe has just purchased a Ravens jersey per league sources
My only concern with trestman is the run game. Is he going to stick with a ZBS? Because I don't think our Offensive line fits very well with a power run scheme.
95% sure we stick to ZBS with some man power concepts as we had this past year.
Final figures are still being worked out, but Marc Trestman will be signing a 3-year deal with the #Ravens, source said. Solid commitment
nice!
Slight caveat to that would be, though, that Chicago's defense this season was absolute garbage. It's hard to argue for running the ball when you're defense gives up 30+ points in 7 games.
exactly
It's still a WCO style, so I'm good with it. But his results in Chicago weren't so great.
That doesn't mean anything. Norv Turner sucked at HC but was is a very good OC.
Trestman has a very good history as being an OC and his 2013 was excellent when Cutler went down.
They're the Bears. That's funny IMO.
Your are absolutely right. Bears fans would probably rather have Ditka has OC "not DC" and having the Fridge pound the rock.
True, true.
Anyway I agree this is going to be a great fit and he isn't as pass happy as one would think. He still ran the ball well and had a bunch of short passes in the game with multiple formations and movement plays.
Even better he will provide continuity as I don't see him getting another HC opportunity being that he is 59 yo. Now lets go get Greg Knapp as QB coach.
I kinda called it
Trestman is an offensive genius. Great fit.
I called this prior to the Houston game. Had a feeling we would be losing Kubes because of the year the team was having.
woops, probably shouldnt have searched chloe trestman on my work computer
lol
Gase isn't even getting the Jaguars job, now.
The Jags are hiring Greg Olson to be their offensive coordinator.
wow
And win the superbowl unlike Gannon lol
didn't the Raiders beat the Rams in ah............
Does he run the same style of WCO that Kubiak does?
He runs wco where Kubiak is from the Shanahan tree of the WCO, Trestman is from the Mike McCarthy tree
Gase is just finishing up his jumbo crab cake with Ozzie and co.
g&m
That's great news
You guys think he'll be hired tonight?
No needs to interview
It's not like they were just saying he was a good coordinator or smart. They're calling him a genius and one of the brightest minds in football. That's not coach speak, in my opinion
I would agree with this statement
Thinking Jason may have some inside info on this one, since this is the first I know of that Marrone has been mentioned.
Jason La Canfora @JasonLaCanfora 2m2 minutes ago
I'd be shocked if Doug Marrone was not one of the first candidates the Ravens look to as offensive coordinator. If not the 1st candidate
.
Thought he took a job as a position coach someplace?
They instantly "know all there is to know about football"
they claim to be fans there whole lives.
The league doesnt give them there credit.
Refs are always against them anytime a call doesnt go there way
If your not a "12th Man" you dont know football
Oh yea the Aggies stole the 12th man from them wasnt the otherway around
Russell Wilson is the "best QB" in the league, he can go toe to toe with any QB and win...
Didnt you know russell wilson won them all there games. not there defense.
They never lose, theyre perfect.
Thats just the jist of what i deal with day to day with family and such.
Actually the Aggies sell them the rights on an annual basis to use the name 12th man.
Does Trestman run the Zone Blocking scheme? Because I think that's really good for our guys.
yes, he runs a zbs with a more pass oriented i.e. Mike McCarthy system. Shanahan is the same system, not saying it's better but it would be the same verbiage for both being it is a wco.

They have vertical concepts, not Air Coryell in them. Air Coryelll is a full offensive system.
