You should look into adding https://purpleflock.com to your favorites tab
To everybody talking about how these forums were not looked after as well as they could have been, with them being ignored, posts being deleted, etc. I can assure you that rules and the overall way the new unofficial board at PurpleFlock will be managed will be a lot less strict. We will be spending a lot more time to making sure that the users and community feel at home.
many longstanding members will follow to http://baltimoreravens.boardhost.com/index.php
This board was created by a longstanding member and he has a lot of support.
One of the concerns I have is that you as a new member have no idea what we made the other board so special. The members of the board is what made it so special and the games created for that board were unreal. The Forum Mock and the Draft A Franchise games were not replicated on any other teams message board. To be able to replicate that you will need the people who created it or were part of running that those games.
I'd suggest reaching out to @BOLDnPurPnBlacK he is also TheCreator of the new site on boardhost. There is no reason to create competing boards.
This is the game that drew me into these boards. Although I had joined in 2014, it was rmw that brought me into the game. I've enjoyed scouting and being a GM for the Redskins, Chargers, and Seahawks the past few years. I'm doing my best to keep up with @-Truth- in the trades department!!!
I've made some offline friends through these boards and they are all players in the forum mock.
Interesting takes for the last two years mock drafts.
With the 1st pick last year (Chargers) #7 I took Ronnie Stanley
With my 1st pick this year (Seahawks) my first choice was Marlon Humphrey.
I ended up with Tre White since Humphrey was taken a few picks before the Seahawks were otc.

appreciate it rmw10. Hopefully you have all of the rules and stuff that go with the mock. We will need it for the future board, wherever that may be.
Thanks and I do have your contact information

That can be very conflicting from a media perspective. Too easy to find negative press and/or "near" insider information and evaluations, no matter how off-base they may be.
That happens a lot in the news articles replies as well, so I don't think this is it.
35 minutes ago, jimjim5 said:I personally think and IIRC, when the past format changes to the BaltimoreRavens.com website were enacted, the link to the forums became obscure; initially, I couldn't find the forum/boards link again. I think this change, plus the fact that the Ravens have cast a less that stellar product on the field has definitely led to this board's demise.
Case in point, the "Join the Conversation" link has disappeared on the website, pointing to the ominous sign of the forums going dark. I'm sure many didn't even realize this piece. I'm willing to bet those changes to a more mobile friendly, but less visually spectacular website killed things.
Too bad, as this board was the bees-knees.
I absolutely agree with this point. Our of sight out of mind.......
I'm going to miss this board. i started following the Ravens avidly in 2014 after many years of being a Redskins fan and season ticket holder for 11 years. I didn't stop rooting for that team because they were losing. I left them because I couldn't support a team with Dan Snyder as the owner. I was taken in and if it wasn't for this board I wouldn't have learned so much about the team in such a short period of time.
I participated in many well thought out discussions, participated in the best mock draft on the net. No other message board has free agency and salary cap as part of the mock. I also participated in the Draft a Franchise game also another great game that I haven't seen on any other message board.
im going to miss everyone and hope everyone transitions to @BOLDnPurPnBlacK. @rmw10 your content as @-Truth- mentioned is among the most thought out on the board and will be missed. Hopefully you'll continue to atleast come back for the Forum Mock!
Go Ravens!

Actually Byron Jones broad jump was 12' 2.75 inches and it is a world record.

You can only be president if you are active on the next board

He tries I suppose but I don't have the brain power to read through them because it is excruciating and taxing. However, I do know I am never getting on twitter and facebook to give them a reason to rationalize this idiotic decision to close the boards.
They can't be run through google translator, because it comes back with an error.
Just now, Sami84 said:i meant za'darius smith, not judon.
Yes, I caught that and edited.

Z smith and Carl Davis could very well have some difficulty making the team. Hopefully he has a good offseason.

Spelling is a requirement to join the new board, unless you join fb or twitter
16 minutes ago, Sami84 said:I had a chance to watch more tape. I watched some FULL houston games. By the way no draft in history produces more stars than busts. So if you're implying that there is no BUST in the first 4 picks then you havent learned.
He has big upside ( bowser) but at the NFL level does he have the instincts? can he read plays? Is he simply unmoulded clay?
I needed to see more consistent play recognition from him ( at the SAM spot).
Look, we have never had a draft thats not had more busts than successes. I'm just saying if there's going to be a bust it's likely this guy. The most safe picks where Wormley, T.Williams and Siragusa.
Do you realize that a draft that has two starters is considered a success. I'll let you count how many starters came from last years and how many more could come from it. This years draft has even greater upside.
1 hour ago, The Mom Gene said:I'm not sure it was short-sighted. I truly believe there was a lot of discussion and a lot of thought put into it. And as was stated, most other teams have done, or are doing the same. Change is always a difficult measure for most folks.
As a Ravens fan, one thing we pride ourselves in is our ability to do things the Ravens way. We do things the right way without cutting corners. I don't care what other organizations are doing. That doesn't mean we have to do it that way, as you are implying.
some of the largest message boards have been in existence for much longer then thr Ravens Message Board. One in particular that I'm aware of used to be a private site, however in 2005, that team purchased the message board and it is now owned and operated by that team and running strongly. This team is in a top market and has a huge fan base. The board is moderated well and although they have some trolls like any board, they have a lot of good conversation, like our board. This board is still running strong and they aren't shutting their board down. Maybe they should shut it down because everyone is doing so.
Such a shame. Maybe we should do things differently than other organizations and keep thr flow of conversation going strong within thr fan base,
In regards to change. I take change very well and many change is better. This is not better. Treat the fan base with respect. Shutting down this board is a HUGE MISTAKE
2 minutes ago, OLD SCHOOL SMASH BALL said:Why exactly are the boards closing again? Main reason?
What is the main reason? Is there some kind of problem? Is it a cost factor involved?
1 minute ago, OLD SCHOOL SMASH BALL said:Couldn't you just do pop up adds to offset any cost? Or charge a registration fee?
I'd pay that fee

Which got to be very difficult lately.
We have had plenty of great conversations on the forum, with a few bad. Do you think it would be better on social media. That should have been left off your recommendations when it was announced.
It really is a shame that the Ravens decided cost cutting was the only decision they could make to keep a very good site intact with some pretty darn good members, I look forward to continuing our discussions with them on another site, but would prefer it be on this website.
18 minutes ago, The Mom Gene said:too long for the average member to want to read. That said. If you're not sure of the reasoning or believe what the have said is the reasoning, as it doesn't fit your ideas, then you really cannot discount their reasoning.
I certainly read it. @-Truth- is a very good writer and makes his case and organizes his thoughts well. Maybe it's too long for the average social media member to read, but definitely NOT too long for the knowledgeable Ravens fan from br.com.
3 hours ago, The Mom Gene said:We can agree to disagree on that. If there were no good reason, then they wouldn't be shutting it down.
I will agree that it was a great place to bring Ravens fans together. The site isn't going away. Just the forums are.
Cost will be there reason, but bringing good fans together for civil conversation should trump that.
1 hour ago, The Mom Gene said:I'm thinking there are several really valid reasons... but hey, whatever seems viable.
There is no good reason for shutting us down. This is a great forum for bringing Ravens fans together from all over the world.
1 hour ago, GrimCoconut said:Yeah it may be the Forum Mock. I mean, we've seen prices escalate there like in real life now and some of these trades now...wow. I'm thinking that's it.
The Best Forum Mock on the net. Oh yeah, there are others, but none are run as well. first most forum mocks only have the draft and some trades, but I've never seen one that includes free agency and salary cap. It will continue on whatever board we end up using.
BTW, when is sign up for Draft a Franchise!
45 minutes ago, GrimCoconut said:I could be wrong here but I recall it being true that if you miss a certain period of time then that year won't count towards FA. Therefore delaying the player's entry into the FA pool. This is why Jensen was an RFA this year and most notably applied to WR Josh Gordon. It may even apply to Perriman due to the time he missed as a rookie.
You are not wrong on this point. This is absolutely correct.
9 hours ago, The Raven said:Torrey as a rookie still put up better numbers than Perriman did in his first active year. Just sayin'. And Perriman was supposedly more well-rounded with better hands. What gives?
And how many training camps has Perriman has? This plays a difference and I'm sure with a training camp last year he gets utilized more often.
Well, atleast I have a. Idea what next years draft will focus on. Come on guys, let's start up the 2018 draft thread before we shut down.
20 minutes ago, eze17 said:Nico Siragusa is starter material...Dude is a beast, who played every game that he was eligible in college. Look at his stats(or game film), he is not only a piledriver, but extremely durable to boot. I could easily see him starting at LG, and moving Alex Lewis to RT.(remember, Lewis played tackle in college, so not such a big transition for him.) As far as center, I wonder that Mangold and the Raven's don't have a handshake deal that he signs after June 1st. We'll have to wait and see...
Siragusa could also play some center, but I do see him at LG and moving Lewis out to RT, his more natural position.

Yes, but purplepitta has never played in the Forum Mock or DaF game and that was my point. This is what really distinguishes this board from others.
I agree it does look a lot better, but Bold's place is a temporary home as has been mentioned on the board. He is in the process of getting together a site with all the bells and whistles. I don't care what the board looks like, the discussion and forum games are most important to me. I feel they should contact each other because two heads are better than one.
Anyway, I'm not saying purpleflocks board can't work, it most certainly can, but making two competing boards isn't the best option either when we are trying to keep people together.
@Jonah DeVitoyou played in the Forum Mock, I'd hate to see this game go away.
