Things look bleak right now. Last night wasn't pretty by any means. I want to see the most angry team I've ever seen these next 3 weeks. I believe in the Ravens. The Eagles game should be a win. The Bengals game should be a win if we have Jimmy. The Steelers game will be a dogfight. I like our wild card chances if we win 2 of our last 3. I really think the Broncos drop 2 more. If the Jets beat the Dolphins, that'll do us wonders. I think it's possible that the Dolphins lose 2 of 3. I just really want the Patriots to have something to play for week 17 so they don't sit their starters against the Dolphins.

Sherly wrote it up pretty well. And I'm pretty sure she's right, after playing with the espn sim and all her scenarios. Although I will throw in the AFCS. IF Tenn winds up winning that division and It. Could come down to their final meeting we would hold the tiebreaker over Houston for the 6th seed. Yeah that's kinda a long shot but still.
I played around with it a bit more. And honestly it isn't a impossible stretch for us to win the division and both Pitt e AND Cincinnati to make the wildcards. Lol. Now they're gonna have to win out, but if they do and the AFCW beats each other up, which is how it's playing out, and add in Miami losing out without Tannehill and Buffalo, well being Buffalo, Than it's actually a relatively decent bet that the AFCN owns both wildcards. Again.
i'm a guy... lol
And it's impossible for the AFC North to get both wild cards. The most teams it can send to the playoffs is 2 at this point.
If we make the playoffs as the division winner, these are the teams we could play in Baltimore...
Dolphins, Steelers, Raiders, Broncos, Chiefs, and Titans.
If we make the playoffs as the #6 seed (Don't see us getting 5th), we could play...
Steelers, Texans, and Titans.
None of those teams scare me, but the Chiefs, Raiders, and Steelers could all be difficult games. All winnable.
A win here would be HUGE, and a loss hurts, but it won't make or break out season. We control our destiny regardless of the outcome tomorrow night. I want to see a win obviously, but if the Ravens do lose, I want it to be close, just to show that we can truly contend with the best.
Patriots beat Ravens: At (7-6), Ravens playoff chances look decent.
Division Hopes:
1. Ravens beat Eagles, Ravens basically must beat Steelers, Ravens beat Bengals to win division.
Wild Card Hopes:
1. Win 2/3 to go (9-7) - Dolphins lose 2 of last 3 to go (9-7), Broncos lose 2 of last 3 to go (9-7), Titans lose 1 of last 3 to go (9-7). Ravens will win tiebreaker over anyone unless it is specifically them and the Raiders alone, but since the Raiders will either take the 5th seed or the division, this shouldn't matter. The Dolphins, who should be without Tannehill for the rest of the year if he has a torn ACL like I'm hearing, play at the Jets, at the Bills, and home vs the Pats where they may play their 2nd string. I think they could lose any of these 3 games. Them losing to the Jets next week would be really nice. The Broncos play at home vs the Pats, at the Chiefs, and home vs the Raiders. While all could be loses, I think they lose at least 2 of three. The Titans play at the Chiefs, at the Jaguars, and home vs the Texans. They should lose at least 1 of those 3, which is all that's needed.
Ravens Beat Patriots: At (8-5), Ravens playoff chances look great.
Division Hopes:
1. Ravens beat Eagles, Steelers lose to Bengals. Ravens need to beat either Steelers OR Bengals to win division.
2. Ravens beat Eagles, Steelers beat Bengals. Ravens basically must beat Steelers. Ravens beat Bengals to win division.
Wild Card Hopes:
1. Win 2 of last 3, lose to Steelers to go (10-6) - Pretty much guarentees a playoff spot. Dolphins lose 1 of last 3, Broncos lose 1 of last 3.
2. Lose 2 of last 3 to go (9-7) - scenario #1 from the Patriots beat Ravens applies.
I think these scenarios are right. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I like the Ravens chances to make the playoffs, both division and wild card!
Bills look awful so far. Forsett fumbled on his first carry as a Bronco. Hopefully the Titans and Bills win. I want to go into tomorrow with the Steelers at 7-6
1 hour ago, VermontRaven said:I like the sounds of that! I have said before my "dream scenario" is us beating Pats and Eagles and Steelers losing to Bills and Bengals. Then, we have the division wrapped up before Christmas and a chance to end any playoff hopes for the Steelers on Christmas Day!
That would be a thing of beauty. At worst, I want a 1 game lead going in to Pittsburgh. That way we only have to win 1 of our last 2 to win the division.
There's no Tavon Young, Ronnie Stanley, or any other Ravens rookies. In my opinion, at least Ronnie and Tavon should be on there. It's a list on the top 25 rookies, with 5 more just missing the cut. There's now way that Tavon or Ronnie aren't in the top 30 rookies.
In a way, I feel that if the Bills beat the Steelers and we beat the Patriots, we win the division. Here's why...
We'd be 8-5, Steelers would be 7-6.
We beat the Eagles, lose to the Steelers, and beat the Bengals to go 10-6.
Steelers beat the Bengals, Beat us, and beat the Browns to go 10-6.
We win common games tiebreaker and the division. I know that a lot can change, but that's how I feel like things would go if we beat the Pats and the Bills beat the Steelers.
It's going to be tough. Brady and company, especially Belichick knows how to win games and playing in Foxboro only makes it harder however, if any team can beat them, we can! I don't think we do great on Monday night games (about 50-50) but we do have a slightly better Monday night record % than they do, .524 to .500 so there's that!
I believe our last 2 Monday night games were against the cardinals @ Arizona in Oct, which we lost 26-18 then we beat the Browns @ Cleveland with a 33-27 score in Nov 2015, keeping with our 50-50 Ratio. Another stat is, we usually win when we only play one Monday night game in that year (Which is the case this year) and in 2010, we actually won both Monday night matchups on the road! (Jets 10 to 9 and Houston 34 to 28).
The stat I love the best is the fact that we have won 6 out of 8 in Foxboro! Now that's a stat I can get behind! We rule NE in their house!
The Patriots have won 6 of 8 all-time in Foxboro, not the Ravens.
This may or may not have been brought up yet, but what about Julius Peppers? He's 36, and will be 37 next year. He's considering retirement after this year. But he's still playing pretty well and could be a boost to some degree. I have no clue what his price would be, which could easily be a deal beaker. We have a lot of young talent on the D-Line and linebackers, so signing JP could be a waste, but I'm trying to think outside the box. Would it be a good idea to consider him?
If we go 10-6, we should win the division. I really expect the Steelers to lose at least 1 of their next 2. The Bills and Bengals both will give them trouble. If they lose both, we should be able to either beat the Steelers and clinch the division week 16, or lose to the Steelers and clinch the division week 17 with a win. That said, if I was a betting man, the Steelers lose only 1 of those 2.
Now for wild card...
I think the Broncos lose 3 of their last 4 and go 9-7.
I think the Bills beat the Steelers, and win out to go 10-6.
I think the Dolphins go 2-2, ending at 9-7.
If we beat the Steelers and go 9-7, we should win the division.
If we lose to the Steelers we can still win Wild Card, most likely at 10-6, but 9-7 is possible.
If the Steelers were to beat the Bills, we would make it in at 9-7 in this case.
If the Ravens win their next 2 games and the Steelers lose their next 2, would we clinch the division?

I hear the plan is to save him for the playoffs
Pats will be without Gronk and Amendola. They still have a lot of offensive weapons, but I'll take it. We should be able to stop their run game of Blount and White. Watching this game with my Pats fan girlfriend and her family will be interesting.
Dang. Oh well.
Purple jersey and black pants
Devante Parker is jogging in his jersey in warmups. ESPN reported he is likely out though. Hopefully he doesn't play and Jimmy Smith does. Would really be nice for our secondary.
Have you seen his blocking? And besides week 2, he's been disappointing. I do think he reaches the endzone at some point though.

Had a meme, but it would've gotten deleted anyway as there's no sense of humor on here. "Could" we? Sure, if we suddenly developed a ground game. However the reality is, nope this could be Brady's last ride. He'll be 40 next season, if he plays. Yeah I know makes a lot of us feel old. Let's put that in perspective. Peyton gave his final run at 39. Favre was 41, after retiring twice. NE will be in the SB, prob against the Giants, kinda a rematch where Brady wins and rides off into the sunset.
This definitely isn't Brady's last ride. He's still got 3+ years left. I want him to retire as soon as possible, but I don't see him slowing down any time soon. He could win the super bowl this year and he wouldn't retire. Just being realistic
Our D is super bowl caliber. They aren't perfect, but they do good enough to win.
Special Teams, outside of some of Hester's decisions even though I like him at returner, is A+.
If the offense can put a little more points on the board, we should be able to beat any team.
If we win the division, I don't think the Steelers make the playoffs. If the Steelers win the division, I still have a slight hope for a wild card spot, but eh..
All we have to do is make it to the dance, and then it becomes a 4 game season. I believe in this Ravens team. They have the players, but need more from the offense.
40 minutes ago, Cillmatic said:No, MVP is based on impact. Tucker hasn't had much of an impact this year outside of the last game. He's just REALLY good at field goals. Compare that to a guy like Julio Jones, Dak or Elliot. Tucker doesn't have half the impact those guys have.
The only MVP a kicker can could possibly get is super bowl MVP, which I think is ENTIRELY possible for Tucker with this offense.
Tucker's had a huge impact on the Ravens season this year. Without him, we most likely lose to the Jaguars, maybe the Bills, maybe the Browns, and probably the Bengals. We're 6-5, and we could be 3-8, maybe 4-7. Without him, our season is over. I hope our offense can pick it up a little. As much as I love watching Tucker kick, I'd rather watch us score TDs.
I saw this link in another thread and I thought it was interesting.
A kicker has only won MVP once (1982), and in today's football world, it's hard to imagine a kicker winning league MVP. Tucker is almost a shoe-in for the Ravens MVP as of now, but with his stellar performances week after week, is there a realistic shot at him winning league MVP?
He's 27/27 this year on field goals, with a long on 57yds, plus he's 15/15 on extra points.
He's made 34 field goals in a row, the longest active streak in the NFL. I believe 43 in the record give or take 1.
If I'm correct, he's put up 96 points so far.
He's a dangerous weapon that any team would love to have.
I don't really know where I stand on this. Kickers are people too, but they normally aren't in the trenches, making crazy catches, or throwing touchdowns (If only Tucker would've completed that pass to Crockett Gillmore). He's definitely the best kicker in the league, but could he also win MVP?
Okay I think I see where I messed up with common games. I tried writing everything down on my paper during my economics class. But that's good. we would win the tiebreaker there and get the division.

Guaranteed Path : Definitely possible. Right now I'm giving us a 40% chance for the Steelers game, but who knows.
2nd Path : I feel that this is the least likely path, but who knows. Maybe the Bengals beat both us and the Steelers, but we beat the Steelers and win the division!
3rd Path: I think this is the most likely path. We should win 2/3, for sure the Eagles game, that's basically a must win game. Now here's the thing, will the Broncos lose 2 of 3? I say 75% yes. Will the Dolphins lose 2 of 3? I say 50% yes. They should lose to the Bills, and they should beat the Pats as long as they wrap up the #1 seed. I think it comes down to the Dolphins at Jets game next week. It's importance is HUGE. Go Jets! We also need the Titans or Texans to lose 1 game, and considering they play each other week 17, that will happen as long as they don't tie.
