I'm still really ticked Luck wasn't able to suit up on Thanksgiving. The way he played last night I'm pretty sure they would've beat the steelers and we'd have a 1 game cushion. Nice to be in front but the lead is def not comfortable not having any room for error whatsoever. Go bills!

We usually play pretty well in bad weather too. I think I trust our running game more than theirs too. I think...

Def trust our defense more though. Can't wait to see a slugfest. How awesome would that be on Monday night in the pouring down rain ? I'm pumped

I agree.  It would be pretty awesome to see it played in pouring rain.  Looks like there is even a chance it might be snow.  Definitely will be interesting to see how the weather forecast shapes up.  The predictions in New England tend to change pretty drastically pretty quickly.

Even though we beat the Steelers 5 straight times, that Christmas game is gonna be stress because if we lose that we might don't win the division. I wish we would've beaten the Steelers at Pittsburgh first then having a Christmas game at home. I would've have a lot more conference if we play the Steelers at home last. But we will get it done.

I agree.  I will be very nervous going into that game, assuming that game will determine the divsion, which it very well may.  However, IF somehow we beat the Pats Monday night and Rex Ryan, Tyrod Taylor, and the Bills beat the Steelers on Sunday, then we will be in a position where any 2 wins in our final 3 games will give us the division (Eagles, @ Steelers, @ Bengals)  That is what I am hoping for.  It would be the icing on the cake if that happened, then in Week 15 the Bengals beat the Steelers and we beat the Eagles to clinch the division!  Wishful thinking I know.

Also, this game vs. Patriots is big because it keeps the possibility of a wildcard alive (even if Steelers run table to go 11-5).  10-6 could still sneak us in as the last wildcard (if Broncos lose twice and Dolphins lose 1 more)

I think we have a shot.  Like everyone else, health and consistency through the final matchups in this season are going to be key.

I think the probability isn't the highest, if everything remains as it stands today (in regards to personnel and health of all the AFC teams).

I think the biggest hurdles are:

    1)  We need to play on par with New England, even if we do not beat them this week.

    2)  We must win the game vs. Pittsburgh.  Cincinnati isn't a threat this year.  We don't want a matchup with the Steelers during the playoffs

    3) We must finish the Bengals off decisively at their place.  This is, more than anything, a game we do not want to face as the "win or go home" by falling to beat Pittsburgh on Christmas Day.  We need a great launch into the playoffs.

We might not have a choice in this matter.  If the Steelers beat the Bills, Bengals, and Browns (and lose to us), they will be 10-6 and have a good shot at the wildcard berth (and most likely play us in the 1st round in that scenario as the AFC North winner is likely to be the 3 seed, and KC/Oakland will most likely be 5 seed)

  4. Ed Hochuli's crew to ref the game.  Just saw this on ESPN.com

    Mike Reiss ESPN Staff Writer

Ed Hochuli has been assigned as referee for the Ravens-at-Patriots game on ESPN's "Monday Night Football" on Dec. 12. This is Hochuli's first Patriots game of the season. Given the recent history between the teams, with the Patriots using eligible receivers as ineligible to spark them to victory, the referee assignment for this game has some added meaning.

I like the way the Bills matchup, Tyrod needs to play well, and hopefully their secondary is healthy and on.

I'm also officially cheering for Denver to start losing, not so sure this game in Tennessee is a gimmie for them, we just need to hope they can't jump out to a lead. That defense is always a threat to score, they're reminiscent of the classic Ravens elite defenses.

Yeah, I think the Denver-Tennessee game will be a good game too.  Tennessee is still fighting for their playoff lives in a weak AFC South.  If Broncos lose twice(@ Titans, vs. Patriots, @ Chiefs, and vs. Raiders) AND Dolphins lose one more, the Ravens can get in playoffs @ 10-6, even if they lose @ PItt (needs wins @ Patriots, vs. Eagles, and @ Bengals)  Obviously, beating the Steelers is the preferred path because it would win the division and get a home playoff game, but wildcard is still a possibility at 10-6 (and small chance at 9-7)

To be honest the Chiefs should be higher and the Steelers should be lower. The Ravens smacked the Steelers and have a 4-0 division lead. The Chiefs look like a solid all-around team that comes to play in the moments they need to. I still see a lot of weaknesses on that Steelers team.

I agree, but the rankings are what they are for 2 reasons:  1) The media LOVES the Steelers.  2) The Steelers beat down the Chiefs 43-14 in Week 4.  Therefore, the media has an excuse (and actually a pretty decent one) to put the Steelers ahead of the Chiefs

The Steelers (and Patriots) will always get the benefit of the doubt in these pointless power rankings because the media loves them.

That pick in the end zone was the interception of the year IMO. Webb went max effort on that play, and that layout catch in traffic was beautiful. Watching in the stadium, I couldn't believe he came up with the catch.

Yeah, that was an awesome play by Webb.  I was really glad to see him make such a big play.  In my opinion, he has gotten a lot of unjust criticism by fans this year.  I think it's because he's been solid, but hasn't made the splashy plays.  Pretty impressive for a defender to make the top 5 catches of the week!

Hey NFL scheduling committee: For the next 5 years have the Pats play in M & T.   I am sick of facing the Pats in their place All The Time.

Win our division this year and it looks like you'll get your wish (for 2017 at least).  Ravens play an AFC East team next year at home that finishes in the same spot in their division.

Everyone was like what is he doing ( cue the Scoreboard 24-6) yay we losing still, next play yay Perriman long touchdown ??.   You still want to celebrate brother ?

It was part of their C'mon segment.  They showed the play and blanked out the score and said "what is the score?"

We really match up well with the Pats. Flacco needs to keep that no huddle going and torch the Pats. Their defense without Jones or Collins is not nearly as scary as the past. We have lots of speed on them. Our defense should be able to stop the dink and dunk, well at least slow it down too. We need to score 20-24 to win this game I think. Please for the love of god can the Bills pull off a miracle at home. Maybe their fans will throw enough garbage on the field that it will distract Pitt lmao

Let's hope so.  The Bills will definitely be a desperate team.  They have to win out to have ANY shot at the playoffs.  It sure would be nice if they could pull it off!  Come on Rex!!!  Rally the troops!!!

Did you see the pic where it looked like Tannehill was wearing golf shoes?  I wonder in they still thought we had field turf.

I didn't see the picture, but that's hard to believe since they obviously warmed up on the field.  Or was the pic from warmups?  I could see them coming out in warmups with that, but then changing before the game starts if they really didn't realize we now have grass instead of turf.

    What about division record?

If pitt loses 2 more, one has to be vs division (bills bengals us and browns left. That would put them at 4-2 in division. Worst we can do is 4-2 in division).

If pitt only loses 2 (lets say to bills) and we lose to pitt, in order to be tied at 10-6 we'd have to beat bengals, therefore we'd both be 5-1 in division.

if somehow we tie at 8-8, pitt would be 3-3 in division.

only scenario i'm not accounting for is any ties.

    No he was inactive. http://www.nfl.com/inactives

i can't believe we are taking about a player that didn't play win we are in a race for the division and just beat a team with a winning record 38-6. I guess some people have to find somethjng negative to focus on and Sunday didn't give those people much fuel.  The guy is a developmental draft pick. Give him a couple years and rhwn we can decide if he was a good pick or not.

I should of clarified, I was simulating the worst case scenario after his 2 week forecast of us beating NE and PHI and Pitt losing to BUF and CIN, so from that point on if Pitt won out and we lost out we'd still be ok.

Gotcha. Yeah, if we beat Pats and Eagles and Steelers lose to Bills and Bengals, we clinch division before Christmas.

Hell of a great guy and was nothing but class when he was here. Wish he was able to finish his career in Baltimore but, unfortunately we no longer have a need for him. Nothing but best wishes to him.

Couldn't agree more.  I think he is definitely a guy that got the most out of his talent.  I have a feeling he would make a great coach if he wanted to pursue that.!

In this scenario let's say we lose out and they win out

Division Records tied at 4-2, we win common game tie break.

We can't both lose out because we play each other.  We theoretically could both finish 8-8 if each team lost 3 of the 4 games.  In that crazy scenario, the Bengals would be involved as well.  If they won out, they'd win the division.  If they lose 1 and the above happens, we win....but that involves the Steelers losing to the Browns at home, so I think we can discount that scenario.

If the Ravens win their next 2 games and the Steelers lose their next 2, would we clinch the division?

Yes, we would be at 10-4, Steelers would be at 8-6.  Steelers would have 2 division losses (us and Bengals, we would have 0 with 2 to play)  We own the common games tiebreak.

we had a chance to put everybody on notice,That  Dallas game slipped away,

I will gladly trade that Dallas game for this game against the NFL's golden boy " Brady "

NE is wounded, we know how to play them and PITT,

if the stars align we can really make some noise

NE - RAVENS, at denver jets , at miami 11-5

Pitt - at bills at cincy RAVENS browns  8 to 9 wins

Denver -  at tenn, pats, at kc,da raiders  9-7

can we win out, this is the question?

Don't see NE falling to 11-5.  Even if we beat them, I can't see them losing more than one other game, which means 12-4 at worst.--obviously I would love to be wrong and see them drop more, but not seeing that happening

For Pitt, I see 9-10 wins.  Again, even if we beat them, I can't see them losing more than one other (most likely next week at a desperate Bills team)--obviously I would love to be wrong and see them drop more, but not seeing that happening

Denver could definitely fall to 9-7 or 10-6 with that schedule left.

I am not trying to nitpick but has anyone questioned Harbaugh about the decision not to challenge the Pitta fumble? It obviously didn't change the outcome but I thought it was a no brainer. If we didn't win the challenge it wouldn't be a huge deal as there was no reason to try to save time outs. He looked a bit befuddled on the sideline after the play.

Teams can't challenge turnovers.  All turnovers are automatically reviewed.  There's nothing a coach can do about it.

If we both finish with the same record and same divisional record, there can't be a tie with common games... we will automatically have a better tiebreak record.

The reason for this is that the Steelers are 2-0 in non-common games (wins over Chiefs and Colts), while we are 1-1 (beat the Jags, lost to the Raiders).

So in order to have a tie in terms of records, they will have had to have lost one more common game than us, since (excluding the H2H games), we play 12 common games.

While we are likely to need Pittsburgh to lose at least one more game, we would HIGHLY prefer if its to the Bengals or to us instead of to Buffalo.

In reality, it doesn't even matter any more regarding Pitt losing to Bills vs. Bengals.  Here are the scenarios where us and Steelers have same record. (barring any ties)

    1) 10-6 We beat Steelers, lose 1 other game.  Pitt wins @ Bills, @ Bengals, and v. Browns.  We win Head to Head

    2) 10-6 We beat Pats, Eagles, Bengals, lose to Pitt.  Pitt loses any game left (Bills, Bengals, or Browns)--If Pitt loses to Bengals, we win via division record.  If Pitt loses to Bills, divsion record is tied and we win via common games tiebreak.

    3) 9-7.  Beat Steelers, lose 2 of 3 to Pats, Eagles, Bengals.  Steelers lose another game.  We win head to head.

    4) 9-7.  Lose to Steelers and Bengals, beat Pats and Eagles (4-2 divsion record)  Pitt loses 2 games (Bills, Bengals, Browns--1 of which has to be a division loss, therefore they would be 4-2 in division) and we win Common Games tiebreak

    5) 8-8  Lose to Steelers, Bengals, and Eagles or Pats.  Steelers lose to Bills, Bengals, and Browns.  Balt 4-2 in division, Pitt 3-3 in divsion.  Note:  We also need one more loss by the Bengals in this extremely unlikely scenario.

We can't count on the Steelers losing. I believe we might have to beat New England, Philadelphia and Pittsburgh to secure the division. Ravens have to win three straight games. Pittsburgh game will define the season.

I agree that we can't count on the Steelers losing, but there is another path even with a loss to NE...that' wins vs. Eagles, @ Steelers, and @ Bengals...granted, I like your path a lot better because we could actually rest easy in Week 17 in that scenario!
