Another one:
I can't see us passing on Reuben Foster if he is available at 16. Mosley/Foster combination would be awesome!
If we are lucky and all these guys are available
1: Foster/Mike Williams/Barnett
2: CB-Conley/White
3: Desmond King
A little more realistic:
1: Jones
2: Reddick
3: Desmond King

I actually am not afraid of this. I think AP is done and he will be nothing more than an average back.
8 hours ago, hn68wb4 said:I can't see that at all, we saw what it was like back in 2013 to have no competent center, how the oline will just fall apart without a leader in the center. I can see us parting with Zuttah next year if we have someone groomed this year, but the center draft class isn't great and aside from JC Tretter the FA market isn't any good either. We just don't save enough and there aren't any good realistic replacements available to make the cut worth it really, after the cuts that we likely already have lined up we should already have enough to sign both Wagner and Williams (though I suspect we won't keep both).
I guess we could try to line up a trade like we did to pick up Zuttah in the first place, but as much flak as Zuttah gets I don't think he's that bad compared to the alternative. And realistically we have the chance of going far next year if we can address some problems, so we should get rid of a vital piece on the line at this point.
I agree. Zuttah is not my favorite player, but he is way underestimated on this board. He is at least an average center, which is very valuable. I can't see us cutting him unless we pick up a free agent that we think is better or at least equal and cheaper (maybe the team thinks Mangold is an upgrade, maybe not--depends on their evaluations on his injury status and decline, etc.) Even if we draft a C fairly high in the draft, it is extremely dangerous to trust a rookie C from day 1.
10 hours ago, rossihunter2 said:Yeah I just worked out it's not the best formatting on phones etc...
in terms of Desmond king, I know a lot of people would take him as a safety but I like him as a corner and I have him rated higher than a lot of others on this board I'm aware (likewise I have Conley a lot higher than others - low twenties) - I was considering calling Conley the pick in stead of Desmond king but wasn't sure if he'd be there and for variation (given I'd picked him in another draft) I felt I'd change the pick so as not to be accused of picking favourites...
@JoeyFlex5, I realise Conley doesn't fit as well in that spot (but notice he would have been taken at 21 not 16), but I made the trade and then took feeney, ramcyzk, robinson, Humphrey all off the board... I said that one was the worst-case lol, maybe I'd take Budda baker or Howard there if I did it again with that trade back - but that could change post-combine
I am really really hoping the Ravens can snag King. Note: I am a huge Hawkeyes fan, so I am admittedly biased. I know a lot of the debate with King is whether he should be a CB or a S. I think he could realistically be both, which makes him that much more valuable. I realize he is not the fastest guy, so will probably not be a "shut-down" corner, but I think he would be a very solid corner and/or a great ball-hawking safety with great coverage skills. My dream draft would be to get a top tier CB in the first (Jones, Wilson, Lattimore, etc.) and pair them with Jimmy in the slot. Then, snag King in the 2nd (or 3rd if teams are crazy enough to let him slide that far)--Keep Webb for a year, then King is our 4th corner and 3rd safety, which puts us in really good shape if any of the starters get injured and allows the team to evaluate him for future to see if they want him as a future CB or S.

That would be really nice!!!
14 minutes ago, rmw10 said:Of the potential cut candidates, here are my thoughts:
- Kyle Arrington - This one is obvious. He might retire due to injury anyways.
- Elvis Dumervil - I'm of the opinion that we should just move on. I think we should be making a full effort to get younger and I'd rather see the young guys out there learning. I think Dumervil still has a little left in the tank but it's not worth delaying development.
- Kendrick Lewis - Lewis hardly played last year, and lost out on snaps to pretty much every other S. He could stay solely because of the complete lack of depth, but I still consider that a very, very small possibility.
- Dennis Pitta - It has to happen. We've invested quite a bit into our younger players. Let's live and die by them.
- Mike Wallace - The one veteran I'm absolutely sure we should keep. We need something out there and his cap hit is not bad at all for what he can do for us.
- Ben Watson - Ditto what I said about Pitta.
- Lardarius Webb - I'd hold onto him for now and see if we can get younger at some point over the offseason.
- Shareece Wright - The owner called him out by name. That's never good.
- Jeremy Zuttah - The FO repeatedly said they want to get bigger and stronger and it looks like that was about Zuttah. I still think he's solid and I wouldn't mind holding onto him, but I'd guess he's gone.
I pretty much totally agree with you.
IMO, Arrington, and Wright are the most obvious cuts.
I also agree with cutting both Pitta and Watson--let the 4 young guys battle it out.
Dumervil--I agree it's time to move on--I would probably try to see if anyone would give us a late round pick in a trade--but if not, I agree with cutting him.
Lewis--Agree--he might stay until we see if we can find better depth since we have none.
Webb--Agree-gotta hold on to him until you know you have a replacement (via FA or draftt)
Zuttah--pretty much echo what I said about Webb--not overly excited with him--but IMO you need an equal or better option before cutting him.
Wallace--Definitely think he should stay--Maybe we consider cutting him if we land a big name like Marshall or something--but if cap allows, I'd still keep him. i would love to go into the season with top 3 WRs of Marshall/Garcon/Jeffrey/Britt,etc./Wallace/Perriman
Just now, January J said:Fournette as a possible trade-back target?
I know that is not realistic. I just don't value ANY RB at 16. So what I meant was the only way I would select him (if I was GM) would be if he was miraculously available later.--I know this is probably more my personal preference than reality
3 minutes ago, January J said:I think we make allllllot of cuts this year and pretty much let everybody walk. The only one I DEF see us retaining is juice BC he won't demand too much on the open market. West might get a 2nd round tender but a third is more likely. But yeah I think we free up a ton of room and break our trend by uncharacteristically making a few big name FA splashes. Particularly on a WR. For the first time in a while I see us having a very healthy amount of cap space.
Not sure if Webb or pitta will both agree to ANOTHER paycut but I'm pretty sure atleast one of them won't be in a ravens uni this season.
I agree, especially about Pitta. I think with Pitta, it is definitely pay cut or he's gone. We have plenty of other options at TE (even though they all have question marks) Webb is a little trickier because we don't currently have an option behind him, so we'd have to be pretty confident we can replace him with as good or better option for the same money or less (either in FA or draft)--And I really don't want us to go into the draft where we HAVE to find a safety to replace him.
OK---Here is my first EVER attempt at a Ravens big board. I did a top 50.
First, I will preface by saying that I don’t follow college football closely, so I have not reviewed tapes of prospects, etc.. Most of the info I have on these guys is from media and posters on this board. Feel free to critique any aspect of this because I enjoy seeing everyone’s opinions.
Second—As you can tell, my big board is based largely off of perceived needs and my preferences…For example, I do not value RB in first round unless the value is too incredible to pass up.
Third-I took Dalvin Cook off the board because of his off-field issues…too many red flags in my personal opinion. I dropped Tim Williams significantly due to off-field questions as well. Also note—As mentioned before, I do not follow college football closely so there may be other off-field concerns that I am unaware of.

No way I think Adams is available at our pick, but if he was, I don't think I could pass him up! Also, Kupp got taken 1 spot ahead of me in the second round...I was hoping I would be able to steal him:

13 hours ago, usmccharles said:3 safeties in a row? No thanks. Besides, going in drafting for position is how you end up reaching and making a bad cut.
Agree, Going in with set position(s) for each round is asking for a bad draft. You have to look at the value on the board. I would love to see a CB early, but if there is great value for another position (WR, Oline, S, Pass rusher, etc), you have to trust the Ravens brass to get the best playmaker on the board that can help the team. Maybe all our top guys at CB come off the board before us and another position high on our board is surprisingly available.. You can't be pigeon-holed into taking a certain position in a certain round. Granted, position and need obviously come into play with how your board is stacked up...but you can't pass on a player that is way higher on your board to "fill" a specific position.
22 minutes ago, rossihunter2 said:big fan of the first 3 rounds here although - carroll phillips would not be my first choice of edge guy in the 3rd but rasul douglas in the 3rd is a great pick - desmond king i think should go in the 1st so to get him in the 2nd is a great pickup and corey davis is top 10 on my board at the moment so that's also a great pickup
i dont like the 6th and 7th rounders - i think jalen reeves maybin is not worth picking up at all to be honest and i think cj beathard's accuracy issues are just too problematic
Agree 100% on Beathard. I am a HUGE Iowa Hawkeyes fan, so I watched all of Beathard's game. He is an awesome competitor, but his accuracy is horrible. I see almost no chance of him being successful in the pros. I would love to be proved wrong because I loved watching him play, but I just don't see it.
23 minutes ago, RavensDieHard21 said:CBS has us taking Cook in most recent one with Sidney Jones, Davis and Barnett all there. Objections?
Per se Barnett and Jones are gone, would you take Cook or Davis?
I want no part of Cook because 1) his off-the-field issues and 2) I don't want to see us take a RB with our first round pick

13 hours ago, ravened said:I know that we are trying to upgrade our run game. However, the NFL is all about passing. Our secondary must come first not a running back in round1. Just look at how Ben carved us up in our last game with "them" in the fourth quarter. Here's my mock for you caw's out there:
1) Sidney Jones-DB...He can play the outside and vastly improve our secondary.
2) Ethan Pocic-C...Improve our run game with a big-bodied blocker...also an ex-captain.
3) Jaleel Johnson-DT..If BW doesn't sign a reasonable contract with us then we move on.
3) (Comp) Zach Banner-G...Another road grater/big boy for our run game. Him and Stanley next to each other will be unstoppable.
4) Marquel Lee-ILB...This guy can play. We found a replacement for Zach Orr.
5) Ryan Switzer-WR...He can return and play slot receiver. Our return game kept us from good field position all year long.
6) Bryan Cox-DE...Might be a project.
7) C.J. Beatherd-QB...Can groom him as a back-up.
Thoughts?
I'm a big Iowa Hawkeyes fan. There is no way in my mind Beatherd will ever be a successful NFL quarterback. He is a heck of a competitor, but WAAAY too inaccurate.
