  1. Just now on ESPN.com Jamison Hensley ESPN Staff Writer Ravens WR Breshad Perriman expects to play in Sept. 11 opener. "I have no doubt in my mind that I won't be ready. I'm attacking it right now like I will be ready." Crossing my fingers this happens!!!
  2. I for the most part agree with you; however I think Price goes to the PS and we keep Butler. I know it's a number's crunch at WR, but I think Butler has earned the spot. On the OL, I see a wide open competition for the last spot between Hurst, Ducasse, and Wesley.
  3. At this point, I would be very surprised if he made it. It appears he is just not ready yet from the reports. Hopefully, nobody will claim him and we can have him on our practice squad.
  4. We can't PUP PItta since he has been participating in camp. He has to be on the 53 man roster (only other option would be to IR him or cut him with an injury settlement, which I don't see happening)
  5. Jamison Hensley ESPN Staff Writer Ravens WR Breshad Perriman ran routes and drills off to the side for 30 minutes while team worked on special teams. He then participated in individual routes, running and cutting without any problems.
  6. Jamison Hensley ESPN Staff Writer Ravens WR Breshad Perriman is participating in Tuesday's practice, his first one in two months. Perriman, the 2015 first-round pick, was activated off PUP on Monday. Anybody know if he is a full participant or limited?
  7. I somehow doubt we cut Buck Allen, Carl Davis, and Shareece Wright.
  8. I don't believe we can PUP him now that he has come off of PUP. Only option would be IR or carry him on 53 man roster.
  9. My bad on Judon. Definitely an oversight there. Can't see how he doesn't make the team.
  10. Here are my thoughts at each position for the 53 man roster: QB-LOCK-Flacco, Iffy-Mallett, Josh Johnson, Cut-Jerrod Johnson RB-LOCK-West, Dixon, VERY PROBABLE-Forsett and Allen---don't see us cutting any of them, but I think West and Dixon are the safest bets. Forsett's experience is too valuable and don't think we are ready to give up on Allen. Cut-Houston, Taliaferro FB-JUICE WR-LOCKS- SSS, Aiken, Wallace, Moore Perriman (if not on PUP) PROBABLE-Campanaro (if healthy) Iffy-Butler, Reynolds Cut-Matthews, Jacobs, Collins, White OL-LOCKS- Stanley, Urshel, Zuttah, Yanda, Wagner, Lewis, IFFY-Hurst, Jensen, Ducasse, Wesley (I think we keep 2 of those) Cut-Clausell, Skura, Broxton (PS maybe?) Nembot (PS maybe?), Fabiano TE- LOCKS-Watson, Pitta, Gillmore, Williams SUSPENDED-Boyle, Waller, CUT-Brown, DL- LOCKS-Williams, Jernigan, Guy, Davis, Henry, Urban IFFY-Lewis-Moore, IR-Kaufusi, CUT-Pierce, Coley LB- LOCKS-Suggs, Doom, Mosley, Orr, ZSmith, Correa, IFFY-Brown, Mclellan, Carter, CUT-Ochi (PS), Connor, Onwuasor, Beyer, Ojemudia CB- LOCKS- JSmith, Wright, Powers, Young, PROBABLE-Davis, IFFY-Canady, Cut-Arrington, Price (PS?) S- LOCKS-Weddle, Webb, PROBABLE-Lewis, Elam, IFFY-Brooks, Levine, CUT-Sam Brown, Wilson ST--LOCKS--Tucker, Koch, Cox 40 LOCKS, 7 Probables----If those all are right, that leaves everyone else fighting for 6 spots: Qb- 1 of those 6 spots will be Mallett or Josh Johnson OL-2 spots (plus the 6 locks)--I"m going to guess Jensen and Wesley Leaves 3 spots left....my guesses are Jeremy Bulter, Albert Mclellan, and Anthony Levine Thoughts???
  11. Yeah, the announcers were terrible. At one point they called Terrance West Matt Elam and called Crockett Gillmore Crockett Ivory. I was amazed at how horrible the announcing was (for the half of the game that NFL Network let me see)
  12. I am not from the Baltimore area; however, my wife went to school in Baltimore and lived very close to the stadium for 4 years, which is how I started following the Ravens and fell in love with the team and have been a fan since. I too am excited about Reynolds' potential, but he really needs to show he is dependable enough as a returner to give him a roster spot. (which is incredible to even imagine completely changing positions and being ready for the NFL immediately) It will be interesting if he doesn't make the 53 man roster if someone else grabs him before we put him on our practice squad.
  13. So, moving on to actual football....What is everyone most looking forward to seeing in the 2nd preseason game. Here are some things I am looking forward to: (Note: I was unable to see the first game in Vermont, so some of this is going off of posts, notes, etc. about Game 1) This game is being broadcast on NFL Network, so I am looking forward to actually being able to watch it. Secondary play-Can they show they are ready to have a better performance than last time Running backs--Does TWest keep flashing ability? Does Forsett make a good performance to show why he is the starter? Dixon or Allen show something to warrant more snaps? Returner--Campanaro-does he continue to show he is in the lead? Reynolds-Does he make a flashy play or 2 that shows he is worth more of a serious look? Anybody else work there way into the conversation? WR-Particularly looking forward to see what Moore can show in a game. Oline--Can Stanley have another solid performance? Do Urshel, Lewis, Wagner, etc. show good performances? DL-Who can flash with some big plays, etc? LB-Who can flash with some big plays, etc?
  14. Definitely think the job is Camp's if he stays healthy, unless Reynolds drastically improves over the next few weeks (which I doubt). “We have those guys in the bullpen, so to speak, but we’d like to find another returner,” Special Teams Coordinator Jerry Rosburg said. In other words, the Ravens don't want to have to use SSS or Webb, but will if they don't have another option. I definitely see Webb doing it before SSS as he has done it more recently and SSS is coming off a nasty achilles tear. I don't see the Ravens going outside the roster to pick up a return specialist...I think they really want to keep that roster spot for a viable WR/RB/TE, etc.
  15. I mostly agree with you with a couple small exceptions: DL/LB-thiink KLM makes it-I think Judon/Ochi/Onwuasor/Brown (although different positions) are fighting for 1 spot (assuming EVERYONE is healthy) For some reason at DB, I have a feeling that Levine will make it because of his versatility and the last spot will come down to probably (Elam, Brooks, Lewis, Arrington...with me personally expecting it to be Brooks vs. Elam for the last secondary spot).
  16. SInce the first official depth chart was released, I figured I would post a prediction for 53 man roster, assuming everyone is healthy (even though I know that will never happen QB (2)-Flacco, Mallett or Johnson...QB is pretty straightforward...I expect Mallett to be the backup, but you never know if Johnson can outplay him for the job RB (4)-Forsett, Allen, Dixon, West...Forsett, Allen, and Dixon are pretty much locks and by all reports, West is playing too well to be left off FB (1)-Juszczyk TE (4)-Watson, Pitta, Gillmore, Williams--Just can't see us parting with any of these guys unless someone blows us away with a trade offer (which I don't see happening) WR (7)-SSS, Aiken, Wallace, Moore, Campanaro, 2 out of 4 of Perriman, Butler, Reynolds, Matthews--So many options, I think we find a way to keep 7 (I put Perriman on the last group because until he is off PUP list, I assume he may start season there...no way he doesn't make roster) OL (8)-Stanley, Urschel, Zuttah, Yanda, Wagner, Lewis, Jensen, Ducasse, Wesley, or Hurst---I think Ducasse, Wesley, and Hurst are fighting for the last spot (and maybe some other surprise guy) DL-(7)-Jernigan, Williams, Guy, Urban, KLM, Davis, Henry--Battles here are for playing time. LB (8)-Suggs, Dumerville, Mosley, Orr, Correa, Mclellan, ZSmith, Judon or Ochi---Can't s see us finding a way to keep Judon and Ochi on 53 man roster...I think one of them makes it and the other is practice squad bound if he clears waivers...I just can't see Arthur Brown beating these other guys out. CB (5)-JSmith, Wright, Davis, Powers, Young--Don't see how we keep any other CBs if these 5 are healthy. S (4)-Weddle, Webb, Levine, Brooks or Elam--I see the battle for the last spot being between Brooks and Elam (although Levine isn't a lock either) K-Tucker P-Koch LS-Cox
  17. Interesting idea. I think it all depends on how desperate the Lions are. I think Williams is untouchable because he is so young and a 2nd round pick. I seriously doubt they would offer anything for Pitta with his health issues. Crockett is young and has lots of potential if he can stay healthy, so I don't see the Ravens trading him unless they are blown away. I doubt they want Waller as he is unproven and suspended 4 games. That leaves Watson....While I find it unlikely the Ravens would trade their new FA addition, if Detroit was desperate and offered a 4th or 5th (which I doubt they do), I could see the Ravens doing it if they are happy with how Pitta, Crockett, and Williams look (and Waller as a fall-back plan)...not even factoring in Boyle when he is out 10 games...So, do I expect a trade to happen, no....but never say never if Detroit is desperate enough to pay the right price.
  18. If Vlad and Jake make the team that means two other lineman are not going to make it. How many lineman do you keep on the 53 man roster? 1) LT: Stanley 2) LG: Urschel 3) C: Zuttah 4) RG: Yanda 5) RT: Wagner 6) Swing Tackle: Long 7) Combo G/C: Ducasse 8) G: Jensen I can't see them keeping more than 8 linemen. If Lewis proves to be the monster in pre season games as he has been in camp people will notice and it will be tough to stash him on the PS then. I agree wit them keeping 8 linemen, however I see Lewis making it and Ducasse being the odd man out. Urschel could slide to C if Zuttah gets hurt, then plug in Jensen or Lewis into the G spot. Also, Lewis would have the extra benefit of being another option at T. Plus, I don't think there is any way Lewis would last on PS with his potential.
  19. According to Jamison Hensley, the Ravens just signed Jake Long. Not sure if he is the answer, but he is somebody else to compete for the job. http://espn.go.com/nfl/team/_/name/bal/baltimore-ravens
  20. "For instance, I’m guessing Justin Forsett will start at running back, John Urschel at left tackle." Now, that would be quite a shock if Urschel is at left tackle!
  21. Ray Rice is out of a job because his on field performance was diminishing at the time of the incident. Teams will "take a chance" if they believe they will get on-field production--see Greg Hardy. If a team thought Rice was an upgrade at RB, they would bring him in. It just doesn't appear that is the case.
  22. I say get the deal done. Use some of that cap money we have available now (which is very rare). Load the contract up front so it is a big cap hit this year and less for future years....unless of course Ozzie has plans for the money that we don't know about...such as extending Williams, etc.
  23. Possible roster if we keep 5 TEs. Note: My list contains 52 players, so that leaves space for another standout player (most likely on defense) Also, my list has 4 RBs, which is certainly not a lock either. QBs-2 Flacco Mallette RBs-4 Forsett Allen Dixon West, Richardson, Taliaferro WR 6 SSS Perriman Aiken Wallace Moore Reynolds/Campanaro/Butler/Clay TE 5 Watson Gilmore Pitta Williams Waller FB-1 Juszcyk, Kyle OL-8 Stanley Urshel Zuttah Yanda Wagner Lewis Jensen Hurst/Ducasse DL-6 Williams Jernigan Guy Kaufusi Urban Davis LB-8 Suggs Dumerville Z Smith Correa Judon Mosley Orr Brown, McClellan CB-5 J Smith Wright Powers Young Davis S-4 Weddle Webb Levine Lewis/Elam/Brooks Special Teams-3 Tucker Koch Cox
  24. I don't see there being anyway that the Ravens can keep Reynolds, Clay, and Waller on the 53 man roster. I think Clay's only shot is if nobody else proves they can handle the return duties. Ravens are much more likely to keep Reynolds if he proves effective as a returner because he has much more potential. With Waller, I think it comes down to a numbers game...too many good TEs and WR looks pretty deep too...No doubt he has potential, but not sure the numbers will allow him a spot on the 53 man roster....But, I don't think he would last on our practice squad
  25. "He needs to know those plays because, if fellow wide receiver Breshad Perriman is slow to recover from his knee injury, Wallace could be Baltimore’s lone outside speed merchant at the start of the season." Most proven speed threat yes. Only? No. It seems all of these articles about our "speed" receiver neglect to mention Chris Moore. Granted, I know he is "raw" and unproven, but he is a speed threat. You can't deny that from his numbers at Cincy.
