  1. Pierce will be cheap for the next few years. I am sure the Ravens would love to retain Williams, but Pierce's play definitely helps the Ravens with negotiations because they won't feel like they HAVE TO overspend to keep Williams. I think the Ravens will give Williams a fair offer, but another team very well may overpay for him, like the Raiders did with KO. At least now with Pierce's play, the Ravens have a viable alternative if that happens. (By no means am I saying Pierce is as good as Williams, but I think he fits Ozzie's 80-20 rule....Getting 80% of the production for 20% of the price)

  3. Stanley says he will play. Jamison Hensley ESPN Staff Writer Ravens LT Ronnie Stanley, who missed Wednesday's practice, was asked whether he would play Sunday. "For sure. It would take a lot for me to miss a game," he said.

  5. Amen to that. This isn't college football where style points matter to get into the postseason. As Harbaugh has said before, it's all about getting into "the tournament" and playing well when you get there. Do we look like a serious contender right now? No, but championships are won in January and February, so we have a while to get better and become contenders. So, if we look ugly and get W's, you won't see me complaining. Keep playing hard, find ways to get W's to make the tournament, then game on in January and February! GO RAVENS!
  6. Is this the article from Zrebiec you were referring to? (under heading of Williams not involved) or did you see something more specific? http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/ravens/ravens-insider/bal-ravens-news-notes-and-opinions-20160920-story.html
  7. Yeah, Perriman is the one out of the list that worries me. Didn't expect Dumervil or Dixon to be pracitcing. ZSmith is not a shock as he wasn't 100% coming into the game. Not sure about Mosley or Zuttah, but both those guys are veterans and might be given the day off if they are dinged up a bit. Perriman on the other hand still needs all the reps he can get with Flacco. Hopefully, it's nothing serious with everything he's been through!
  8. Actually the Browns are going to be wearing all white because the brown and purple supposedly blend. http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/17536350/nike-unveils-color-rush-uniforms-addresses-conflicts-colorblind "Other teams that will wear white include the Browns -- since their all-brown uniforms would blend with the Ravens' purple -- and the Rams against the Seahawks -- since distinguishing yellow from green would be an issue."
  9. Dixon, Dumerville, and Powers are all out so they are definites. Can't see us having 6 CB active, so Canady/Price (my guess is Canady), Carter, Jensen/Hurst (depending if they trust Lewis or Hurst more as a backup LT),. Moore or Henry---probably depending on how comfortable the medical staff feels about extended reps for SSS and Perriman if injuries pop up to other WRs. With all that in mind, i predict these 7 inactives: Doom Powers Dixon Carter Canady Hurst Moore My heart wants to see Moore on the field, but I just can't see it happening. Leaves us too short on DLine if Henry is inactive and injuries occur.
  10. I think any fan (Ravens or Bills) that thinks this is going to be a blowout either way is crazy! I foresee a close, hard-fought game. Obviously I am a Ravens fan, but I respect the Bills and think this game will be won by 7 points or less (hopefully by the Ravens). Looking forward to a great competitive game this weekend! Go Ravens!
  11. I'm going to be bold and say Forsett. All the talk during camp and preseason was about the young backs. I think Forsett shows the young guys and the rest of the world that he's still the lead back. Calling 2 TDs and 100+ yards rushing.
  12. Doom not playing this weekend. http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/17486921/baltimore-ravens-linebacker-elvis-dumervil-said-play-season-opener
  13. Bosa can't be traded now. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2016/08/09/window-closes-on-potential-trade-of-joey-bosa-in-2016/
  14. I think if the Ravens were offered a 4th for him, they would definitely take it. 5th I think they would consider it. First, I think it is unlikely someone offers this, so it is probably a moot point, but our front office seems comfortable finding RBs in this area of the draft (drafted Allen and Dixon in back to back drafts in the 4th) With our talent at RB and some tough roster decisions to be made, I think the Ravens would jump on this (but I don't think Ozzie's phone is going to be ringing with that offer)
  15. Jeff Zrebiec ‏@jeffzrebiecsun 19h19 hours ago List of Ravens that won't play Sat likely includes Suggs, Dumervil, Perriman, Smith and guys I mentioned earlier as having not practiced I"m guessing that's what he's going off of. Although as you can see it clearly says "likely includes" which to me means this is Zrebiec's best guess at the moment. I haven't heard anything official. However, I personally would be shocked if Smith played.
  16. "He is America's finest in my view," special-teams coordinator Jerry Rosburg said. "You see him in the meetings, see him on the field. He is doing everything he can to get good at a lot of things, and we are practicing him at a lot of places. He has to find a place, and we have to find a place for him in the games. He is ready to roll.” Source: ESPN:  Ravens salute Navy's Keenan Reynolds as 'America's finest,' but will he make team? Pretty strong words from Jerry Rosburg. I know I had completely written him off as not making the 53 man roster and going to the practice squad if he clears waivers. I am still skeptical that he makes the 53 man roster, but this definitely opens up the debate a little more.
  17. Hey guys, if you want some good Ravens chatter, on the main banner click Flock, then Message boards and there area all kinds of topics (as well as the likes and dislikes)
  18. Feeling the current Ravens player who keeps performing when given the opportunity. 17 Jeremy Butler days until kickoff. (Note: Pic copied from this website under photos from 2nd preseason game)
  19. First off, I don't think there is any way we cut down to 51 or 52. If a player we like more becomes available, then yes we cut the "53rd man" and make room for the new guy. Definitely some tough decisions to be made with the number of talented guys we have this year (which is a great problem to have) The Juice discussion is quite interesting because he hasn't played much in the first 2 preseason games, but has always started with the starters. I somehow think we are going to keep 5 RBs (or 4 RBs and 1 FB) 7 WRs and 4 TEs, but that makes the defensive side a little tight. I think Books is going to be safe with Elam's injury. My guess on Elam is we cut him with an injury settlement. That way he doesn't take up a roster spot and we have the possibility to bring him back if he is healthy and we are not happy with our other options at safety. To me, I don't see any way Price can make the 53 man roster, barring a major injury to someone ahead of him. From what I have heard, I think Smith, Wright, Powers, Davis, Young, and Canady would all be ahead of him and I think it is going to be hard to find a spot for Canady. It might come down to if the team thinks he can clear waivers and make the practice squad. While these conversations of cutting talented/worthy guys are difficult, it shows great depth and *knock on wood* not as many injuries thus far as previous years. A lot of guys are going to have to play their hearts and souls out over the next 2 preseason games to earn their spot. I am anxiously waiting to see how it all pans out.
  20. I am excited for the game too! FYI for you out of towners like myself who might not be able to get the original broadcast, NFL Network is showing it at 5:00 a.m. Sunday (My DVR is already set!) Anyone know if this will be the Lions or the Ravens announcers for that broadcast? I am really hoping it's the Ravens announcers after being stuck with the Colts announcers for the last one!
  21. My guess is IF he plays, the Ravens will throw him out there for a few plays with Flacco just to start to develop the chemistry. Don't think it will be too many plays since other guys ahead of him on the depth chart need to get some reps with Flacco as well, but I think they give him a few to see what happens in live action. All of this is of course IF he is given medical clearance.
  22. Not saying I expect this to happen because I absolutely don't think it will, but it would be interesting if some other team had an injury at RB and offered us a 4th or 5th rounder for Buck Allen. Would we take it since we have 3 other quality RBs?
  23. I agree. I don't see anyway Camp doesn't make this team if he is healthy. He is our only true PR and has looked good with the offense when healthy. If everyone is healthy, I think the big question with our WR corp is do we keep 7 so Bulter can make the 53 man roster. I think, barring injury, SSS, Aiken, Wallace, Moore, Perriman, and Camp are locks. Definitely some tough roster decisions to be made with 4 quality RBs, 7 quality WRs, and 4 quality TEs. If you keep that many at all those positions, it is a numbers crunch in other places.
  24. I agree. While obviously it remains to be seen if he will play this weekend, I wouldn't rule it out. I think it would be great if they could even get a few plays for him with Flacco throwing it to him to see if they can start to form a connection
  25. Yup, I don't think the numbers work out for him with four quality TEs ahead of him (Watson, Pitta, Gillmore, Williams), not to mention the luxury of stashing 2 on the suspended list (Waller, Boyle) in case an injury occurs.
