  1. Way to early to say Dixon has the injury bug. Campanaro, yes. Dixon--let's wait and see.
  2. Agreed. West is hot right now, so you have to ride him. Also, most rookies struggle with pass protection (no, I haven't analyzed this to know if this is true for Dixon) Definitely need all the pass protection we can get right now with our offensive line banged up.
  3. 1) Very winnable game (especially with Fitzpatrick starting) 2) Bye week coming at a great time to help us get healthy (Stanley, Yanda, SSS, Jimmy Smith, Dumerville, Suggs, Wagner, Mosley, Hester--and I'm sure others) all will benefit from an extra week of rest after this one. 3) VERY good chance to be tied for division lead after this (we win, Steelers lose to Patriots -BigBen) 4) Offense showing some signs of life under Marty. 5) Tavon Young being "thrown into fire" will help him as the season goes on. 6) Our running game is revived under West (even with makeshift Oline) 7) Bengals struggling 8) 2 of our losses are to NFC teams which will benefit us if we end up in a tie for a Wildcard (although that's a bit pessimistic for this thread since as stated above, we still have a REAL shot at taking the division!) 9) Ravens have had a chance to win EVERY game, which give me confidence that we will "steal" a couple games the "experts" expect us to lose. 10) Lewis getting experience at G and T, which will benefit us down the stretch and in the future.
  4. Hard to say. He is in the concussion protocol, so he has to clear that to be able to play, which is always unpredictable. http://www.csnmidatlantic.com/baltimore-ravens/ravens-cb-jimmy-smith-leaves-giants-game-concussion Last sentence of the article: "Smith will have to clear by the NFL’s concussion protocol procedure this week before he is allowed to return."
  5. As of now, Bowles is saying they are starting Fitzpatrick for the game: http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/17821917/ryan-fitzpatrick-new-york-jets-starting-qb-coach-todd-bowles-says
  6. WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too early to be even thinking about next year's draft. Hopefully we'll turn this thing around and be picking a lot later than that.
  7. I don't think it's a pipe dream...a bit optimistic-yes, but I think it's still doable. I didn't predict before the season, but I see us 9-7 now (and I am hoping we find a way to "steal" a game to go 10-6 because that would give us a decent shot at the playoffs, especially with 2 NFC losses) Here's how I see the rest of the season shaking out: @ Jets - W BYE Steelers - WBrowns - W@ Cowboys - LBengals - WDolphins - W@ Patriots - LEagles - W@ Steelers - L@ Bengals- L
  8. I know these last 3 weeks have been very frustrating, but this team is still capable of making it to playoffs. The pessimist says we could have lost every game. The optimist says we could have won every game. Bottom line is I see a realistic (not easy but doable) path to 10-6, which most likely gets us to playoffs, especially with 3 losses being to NFC teams: Win @ Jets next week Win our home games (Steelers, Browns, Dolphins, Bengals, Eagles) "Steal" a win on road somewhere (Cowboys, Patriots, Steelers, Bengals) Am I a bit if an optimistic homer? Of course I am, but I still have faith in this team! Go Ravens! True character shows when things aren't going well. Now's the real time to show how to "play like a Raven"
  9. I definitely thinks Mosley is out. I now wonder about Mclellan. Not much has been said about him, but he is listed as questionable. If that's the case, I guessbit would be Orr and Correa at ILB and Onwuasor as the backup.
  10. I agree. That was the most disappointing news of the injury report. I was REALLY hoping he would be able to go. Actually surprised Wagner is questionable. I thought he would be doubtful. Hopefully he can go and Lewis starts at LT. Otherwise, I am very worried if Stanley, Wagner, and Yanda are out. That means Lewis at LT, Hurst at RT and Turner??? who we just picked up and is really a G as backup T if eifther goes down. Yikes!
  11. Good call. I admit I have been guilty of this. I shall refrain. Maybe if we just ignore him, he will go away...or he lives up to his word and disappears for a month after we beat the Giants!
  12. I agree with this. I think if the losing continues this year, you see Marty (probably after the season) and Rosburg (maybe during and maybe after season) be fired. Then, Harbaugh would be on the hot seat next year if he doesn't turn it around then. Hopefully, this becomes a non-issue because Harbaugh, Rosburg, and Marty turn this thing around and get us into the playoffs!
  13. http://www.espn.com/nfl/team/_/id/33 injury report from Hensley on ESPN. Stanley listed as limited participant
  14. The Ravens were in position to win the last 2 games. If receivers make a play in each of those games, we win. (or in the case of the Raiders game, set up Tucker to win it) Those 2 things happen and we are 5-0 and people would be saying how Harbaugh is in the running for coach of the year.
  15. Jamison Hensley ESPN Staff Writer Ravens PR Devin Hester walked through the locker room with a pronounced limp. Hester missed practice Thursday. Ravens might have to go with a different option at returner like Lardarius Webb or Kenneth Dixon. Looks like Hester might be out. If that's the case, my guess is Webb is back there for punts with a lot of fair catches and Dixon or Moore on kickoffs. I don't recall anyone other than Campanaro and Reynolds fielding punts in the preseason, so my guess is Webb would be our only real option for punt returner.
  16. I think clearly this is the struggle here. Ravens are trying to figure out where they want to be offensively, somewhere between the ground and pound "smashmouth" football and the pass all the time even when we are ahead and averaging 6 yards per carry "Trestman" offense from last week. Definitely a bit of an identity crisis.
  17. Stanley practicing is definitely very good news. I think our OL can make due if we have him starting at LT!
  18. Source? I haven't seen this anywhere.
  19. I'm hoping that should be "Offensive Coordinator" and that now we have improved there.
  20. Yeah, looks like most if not all our inactive list this week will be injuries... 1) Smith 2) Yanda 3) Wagner 4) Mosley 5) Dumerville? 6) Hester? 7) Stanley--hopefully not especially with Wagner and Yanda looking doubtful Healthy inactives (if Dumerville, Hester, Stanley are able to go could be 1) Turner--assuming Stanley can play, I think Ducasse and Hurst are our backup linemen since Ducasse knows our system better and Hurst is only true T 2) Henry-has been inactive every game so far 3) Allen or Dixon if we go with 2 RBs + Juice 4) Possiblly ZSmith or Judon if Dumerville can go, but i doubt it with Carter gone and Mosley out most likely 5) Possibly Moore IF Smith somehow is able to play. My gut says Smith-Yanda-Wagner-Mosley-Dumerville are all out. That would leave Turner and Henry as the healthy inactives (and one of them would be active if Hester can't go)
  21. I just plugged in Urschel and Jensen at guards...I honestly don't know enough about them to know which would be better at which G position, so I'll trust your judgement there. My main point was I think that IF Stanley can play, we will be ok on the line (assuming no in-game injuries of course) If Stanley, Yanda, and Wagner are all out, I will officially be worried because 1) Hurst would be starting--presumably at RT with Lewis at LT and 2) If Hurst or Lewis went down in the game, I"m not sure who we'd have at T! I'm actually very interested to see how Lewis would do at RT. I think he will be as good if not better there than Wagner.
  22. Jamison Hensley ESPN Staff Writer Ravens WR Steve Smith (ankle) misses second straight practice. LT Ronnie Stanley returns for first practice in couple of weeks. PR Devin Hester was absent Thursday after practicing previous day. Others not practicing: G Marshal Yanda (shoulder), LB C.J. Mosley (hamstring), LB Elvis Dumervil (foot) and RT Rick Wagner (thigh) I hope Stanley is back for this game. I know we have a banged up line, but am hoping we don't see Hurst in the game...even if that means a line of Stanley-Urschel-Zuttah-Jensen-Lewis if Yanda and Wagner can't go. The other injuries hurt but could be a blessing in disguise for young players---ex: Maybe Correa or Judon step up if Mosley and/or Dumervil are out or limited. Maybe Moore gets a few more opportunites and steps up if Smith is out, etc.
  23. Here's my guesses in our inactives: 2 o linemen based on injury (we have 9 on roster now) Mosley-i am guessing he is out for this game Henry SSS or Moore (depending if Smith can go) Last inactive could be any of following Dixon, Allen, Waller, Brown, Judon, ZSmith my guess is ZSmith
  24. Webb---Maybe not...Injuries really derailed his career...Still hopeful he proves to be a good safety. Jimmy-YES- Where would we be without him!? Have you seen what CBs are getting paid these days? Look at what is happening to the Panthers, who refused to pay Norman. I know Jimmy is not the same player as before the injuries, but he is still a very good CB. Joe-DEFINITELY YES! Gotta have a QB in this league or you turn into the Browns. When you find one, you pay him and try to build around him!
