Doom and Mosley out. Yanda, SSS, Suggs, Wright, Kendrick Lewis all doubtful--looks like those will be our 7 inactives. Hopefully all our "questionables" can play:. Flacco, Stanley, Jimmy Smith, Aiken, Powers, and Hester.

Pitta, Jimmy Smith, Torrey Smith, Osemele, Brandon Williams, Wagner, Mosley, Jernigan, Stanley, Tavon Young
Plus, I still have high hopes for Perriman, Correa, Dixon, etc.

I know defense hasn't been perfect (especially 2nd half vs Giants) but hard to justify Pes on hot seat with 3rd ranked defense.

I agree. I think we will see a major improvement on the oline this weekend! I think we break out and hit some big pass plays this weekend to go along with another 100+ yard performance by West!

Flacco is practicing today!
18m18 minutes ago
Jeff Zrebiec @jeffzrebiecsun
Ravens QB Joe Flacco returned to practice today. Threw several intermediate and short passes. Didn't look uncomfortable.
Wow! Rodgers and the Packers offense is looking BAD this year! Can't believe the Bears are up after that fumble! (Although I still expect Bears to lose the game)
Definitely a big chance for these young guys! I also think it will be interesting to see how the Ravens use Correa. Does he play ILB (and Mclellan at OLB) or does he play OLB, or does he get some snaps at both?
Don't think that's the case. Maybe a few fans will be calling for Mallett. Bottom line is Joe is our QB. This would be 1 game. Nobody in the Ravens organization is going to give up on a franchise QB based off the performance of a backup in 1 game. This isn't Dallas where Dak has half a season of starts for the organization to consider....plus Flacco is WAAY more durable than Romo. *knock on wood*

Let's hope the NFL suspends this guy for a LONG time!
VermontRaven replied to Moderator 2's topic in Ravens Talk
I'll take a W vs. the Jets any way we can get it, no matter who plays...whether we look good, bad, or ugly. Bottom line is that if we can get out of this game with a W, we are most likely tied for the division with a bye week to get our guys healthy for the stretch run. I don't care if we get "style points" or not.
VermontRaven replied to AsianRice's topic in Ravens Talk
I agree with this completely. Joe will either start or be inactive with Fales called up. Now, I guess it's possible if he starts and doesn't look right, we bring Mallett in. While the idea of him getting this game and the bye off to get "completely' healthy sounds great, this is as close as a must-win game as it gets in October--if your franchise QB can play-he plays.
VermontRaven replied to Moderator 2's topic in Ravens Talk
This is very true. The 4 most important players on our injury report are:
1) Flacco
2) Jimmy Smith
3) Stanley
4) Wagner
Fortunately, it sounds like all 4 of them have a "legitimate" chance to play Sunday.
Not saying the other injuries aren't important, but I feel we can more easily overcome them for one game before having a bye to get healthy.
VermontRaven replied to RayRocks's topic in Ravens Talk
I agree completely. I think we have done a nice job the last few years. Jernigan and Mosley are looking awesome this year! Lewis and Young appear to be 2 of the best steals of the draft! Stanley is looking good and Dixon looked good in preseason and I think will start being a difference maker soon. I think Perriman could have a breakout game at any time. I am VERY excited about the future of the Ravens-short term and long term with this group of playmakers! GO RAVENS!!!

Do I think we can win with Mallett? Yes.
Does the thought of him starting scare me? Yes.
Definitely still a winnable game if Mallett has to play, but greatly decreases our margin for error. All the other players must step up because it is a definite drop off from a Superbowl MVP franchise QB to a serviceable backup QB.
Very good sign that Wagner and Stanley are practicing.--I think there is a good chance they both play.
Jimmy-also a very good sign that he is practicing--but still no certainty he will be cleared--the concussion protocol is very difficult to guess when someone will be cleared.
Mosley--Still not practicing--My gut says he will be out another game, but hopefully my gut is wrong.
Bottom line--Ravens have to step up and find a way to get the W this week, regardless of who is healthy and who is not. I'm still very optimistic about this season, but a 4th straight loss would be difficult to overcome.
VermontRaven replied to RayRocks's topic in Ravens Talk
Stanley and Wagner both practicing. Definitely a good sign that they may be back for this Sunday.
Jimmy Smith practicing (in non-contact jersey)-Means he is progressing through the concussion protocol to be allowed to practice, so there is hope he will be cleared to play by Sunday.

Another update from ESPN on Ben. Still a pretty vague timeline, but looking more likely he may miss game vs. us Week 9, although I never count him out until it is official.

Just saw this on ESPN regarding Ben's surgery: My gut still says Ben finds a way to play vs us.
Jeremy Fowler ESPN Staff Writer
Ben Roethlisberger told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's Ron Cook that the doctors said his "knee looked good" but had buildup from last season's bone bruise, jeopardizing his chances to return for Week 9 against Baltimore. "But there's no way to put an exact timetable on it," he said. "It depends on my pain and how I feel."
Testing my new avatar, since I feel I personally jinxed Yanda with my old avatar (Yanda as Raven and Hawkeye) Toughest guy around--never gets hurt until I make him my avatar. So, I'm going general and staying away from any specific players this time!

Yup, First Bowles backed Fitzpatrick and said he would start, but now he is waffling. Here's an article from ESPN stating that
