Also I should say that That show is tremendously better than the Baltimore shows on a certain station, who leading up to the Miami game when I tuned in to get some local color the broadcasters were just pathetic cutting down Harbs without saying his name and saying how great Adam Gase was wand his players all said they loved him and playing for him and you didn't hear that about "some coaches" yuk yuk yuk, "I think I know who you are talking about" yuk yuk yuk. Despicable. They should be FIRED for that during pregame for the home team. I'll never listen to that station again. Only WNST now. Horrible of that station. I just want to say to those guys, Who won the BAL-MIA game? Huh? You two broadcasters should be fired before the next day sun rises.

That is the same way I think about the Sun paper reporters.

For people (like me) who struggle to maintain a grip on the tie-breaking procedures, here is a little breakout of the top six, and where we stand right now.

TO BREAK A TIE WITHIN A DIVISION
If, at the end of the regular season, two or more teams in the same division finish with identical won-lost-tied percentages, the following steps will be taken until a champion is determined.

    Two teams
    1. Head-to-head (right now we own this over Pitt., but if they beat us 12/25, this goes away). :D
    2. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the division (Ravens own right now, 4-0 to Pitt's 2-1). :D
    3. Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games (right now we're even 5-4 each).
    4. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference (right now we own, 7-2 vs. 5-3).:D
    5. Strength of victory (right now, Pitt owns by 5 pts.).
    6. Strength of schedule (right now, Ravens tied for 19, Pitt tied for 23). :D

Of course, these are in hierarchical order, and you only move down to the next one if the current one is a tie.  But our having beaten Pittsburgh once, and being perfect so far in the Division are huge.

I hope you don't have to do this for the wild card on New years eve. LOL

if mallett puts up 30 plus than the can of worms will be opened. harbs and the front office im sure are praying that flacco plays so they will not have to deal with that can.

Don't think that's the case.  Maybe a few fans will be calling for Mallett.  Bottom line is Joe is our QB.  This would be 1 game.  Nobody in the Ravens organization is going to give up on a franchise QB based off the performance of a backup in 1 game.  This isn't Dallas where Dak has half a season of starts for the organization to consider....plus Flacco is WAAY more durable than Romo. *knock on wood*

Flacco's durability is in question since his knee injury and now a shoulder issue that isn't allowing him to practice all week. When have we ever heard that Flacco missed a week of practice due to an injury? Never. He is older, has taken a beating over the years and you can tell in the pocket (and I will be nice here) he is tentative. Mallet's previous issues had to do with off the field problems which appear to be resolved. I think that it will be more than a "few" fans if Mallett comes out and lights up the scoreboard. However, you are accurate in the fact that Flacco is Harbaugh's boy and no matter what, if Joe can play this year, Joe will play.

I think with Flacco's age it is time we start looking for the next franchise qb in the draft. To get a good qb we are going to have to finish like we did last year so we can get a high pick. I can honestly say, if we go 5-11, Harbaugh will be looking at QB's in the draft because his future with the Ravens is now tied to the productivity of Flacco and if we do that bad, then it is possible that Harbaugh might make a change to save his own job.

I think if Ravens go 5 and 11 Harbaugh be looking for a job.

Stop whining, the league did not screw the Ravens over. Draft order is determined by strength of schedule, of which the Jaguars had a tougher schedule.

Some positions look more exciting on the surface and others are more exciting period. Ramsey while an amazing athlete, did not show a high amount of turnovers in college, one knock against him. Doesn't mean for sure he won't be better at NFL, but it has to be somewhat a concern.

Stanley on the other hand gives you everything you look for in a starting OT for the long haul. I like not having to watch the backup QB how about you? Plus the Ravens have the coaches to help this young man excel at the next level. They have been doing it with lesser talents for many years now.

I thought NFL deemed  we had tougher  schedule ,therefore Jax was weaker team and would pick before us. In any case as my old grandpappy always sais "never trust a stat that can be manipilated by humans.

I mean, that's great for us to tell ourselves that, but I seriously doubt the NFL cares one bit about whether we were competitive in games. You beat PIttsburgh twice, you lose to Cleveland once and were very close to losing to them twice . That's how you end up 5-11.

If I were the league, I'd ask:

Are the Ravens a team that fans nationally would want to turn in to watch play? Are they exciting to watch? Do they have personalities who sell on TV?

To me, that's a tough sell. We may like the team, but its not about what we as Ravens fans like, because national primetime games aren't for Ravens fans.

If I were the NFL, I'd have a tough time putting us in many primetime games, because I just don't see what the upside is.

I agree we are better off anyway. I never understand the fans fascination with primetime games. I never enjoyed staying up until Midnight when I have to get up at 5am to go to work the next day, and it really doesn't do the team any good. Just never understood what the goal was.

I hope somebody will explain to me why, a fan a player or a coach would want thier team to play in a "prime time game"?

TBH, I don't see this "reporting as eligible" system as a big issue, either. Sure, the Urschel case was a bad one, and we, Ravens fans remember that (although who knows what would have happened if the refs don't make that blunder... a TD could have happened as easily as an INT the next play...) - but probably nobody else - and this, as far as I can tell, really isn't an acute problem. Refereeing has much more burning issues to fix IMHO.

Getting it right can't be wrong.

The timing and effort the ravens put into signing Weddle makes me wonder just how much heads up they were given from the league about the impending suspension of Will Hill. The team has been very careful about what they say about the acquisition but if we didn't get Weddle and found out our best safety was suspended, there was nothing else out there on the market. The effort that everyone put in was over the top for any free agent ever signed with the Ravens and I am not a conspiracy theory person, but there are enough circumstantial facts that open a can of worms if a news agency really started digging. Maybe there is nothing and the Ravens are the beneficiary of the greatest coincidence in the history of their free agency or someone dropped a dime and let DeCosta in on the Hill suspension.

I think according to the Sun papers the fo knew about suspension.

Wonder what the new Browns management are doing though... First day into free agency they have already lost their best WR, starting FS, C and RT - and got nobody in return. They'll need huge signings to make it even, let alone make it a positive free agency..

Some might say addition by subtraction. LOL
