This is where myth doesn't meet reality....

Fun facts from the 2016 season:

    1. Our TOP average for the season was 30:46. So while the 20 minutes things is cute, its horrendously wrong. Basically, the offense and the defense were on the field for roughly the same amount of time during the season... on average.

    2. We had more first downs than our opponents (316 for Ravens, 294 for opponents)

    3. We ran more offensive plays than our opponents (1,077 for Ravens, 993 for opponents)

All of this obviously ignores the fact that we've managed to win many games in several seasons without many offensive weapons. 2014 certainly comes to mind (which I know some fans treat like it was a decade ago).

Long list of teams with loads of offensive weapons that would absolutely kill to win 8 games every year, because they don't.

A little perspective goes a long way...

I wish you would stop confusing these guys with facts.

    Omg. This again?

TOP is not a great indicator of anything!!! It's such a misleading statistic if your trying to reach any conclusion with that stat alone. I don't remember what game last year that we led TOP and punted the ball 7 times. 7!!!

there was another game where we led in TOP but averaged 2:30 per possession. That's horrendous!

dont fall in love with the paper. What obvious is that our offense needs to work  on sustaining drives. So many of our games last year should have been blowouts because our defense forced more punts than anyone. Our defense better finish games. Sure they're not gonna finish them all but il take half. Pees needs to stop with the vanilla last 5 min defense and there's no excuses this time. You have the quality and the depth.

It sure indicates/states how long a defense or offense has been on the field which it so happens that was what the post stated that I responded to.

That is great and all. However, when the offense gets 35 three and outs a game and doesn't score enough points, they will gas even the best defenses, and lose games. I don't blame Ozzie for not drafting a WR because CD and MW were long gone but I do blame him for not getting a WR in FA. There is literally nothing out there except a few old banged up guys that are not gonna help our offense. The offense was horrible with SSS last year. Let's do the math. Not gonna be a good yea, gonna be third in the division. Good job!

What offense got thirty-five 3 and outs? When?

I saw that too and I am not sure what that means either. A diluted sample clearly does not carry the same stigma as a failed sample. We may all know it or believe it to be the same but it is a blurred line.

I know this... I really don't want to pass on Peppers and have the Sqeelers pick him up a few picks later.

I can see them grabbing him and he is so versatile he can add depth at S for us but more importantly he can play ILB and cover these freak TE's in the league now (something that CJ struggles with a little)

Plus the thought of CJ and Peppers playing beside each other with their athleticism and skill sets... that should be a scary defense who can cover side line to side line and who can offer an array of blitz packages and coverage's that is rare even in the NFL

Not an expert in drug samples , but I interpret a diluted sample as  worse than a failed sample. Sounds like he got caught cheating. I have no facts to back up my opinion.

"IF" Browns would take Flacco &our 16th for their 1st&33rd we could FIX defense and sign Kapernick or even Cutler as stopgap REBUILD decent team. Flacco & our 16th,74th for 1st&12th would be DREAM scenario.

If Kapernik even visits M&T, I am becoming an Eagles fan. Have you ever seen a game outside of Pit.?

I don't think this will ever happen because it takes away a TV timeslot each Sunday.  The NFL (and networks) make big money by having games at 1:00 and 4:00 (plus the night games)

Which is why the Ravens do not play at 2PM

I get that but i've never enjoy rich owners getting off not footing the bill for the team. Especially when it was their choice to move the team. Good thing football is a winter sport who in the right mind would ever watch a live game in vegas heat it's awful.

Not to be picky ,but football is a fall sport. It is only in the recent past that games have been played in the winter.

Thank you for reading, if dont agree and it appears you do not, that is fine. Some may not be looking at it the same way.

What is very evident in my opinion is that the Ravens have a good returning class of Rookies. All the negative comments about poor selections can be quite dismantling. I think positive as much as I can.

ps, I only used All pro in regards to Pierce and Pro Bowl for Lewis.
    So who is homerish

Being this is a BALTIMORE board, is it bad to be homerish, even if Baltimore area is your home?

If released what's the odds he gets signed for the same amt or more left on his contract?

he keeps his pay and goes to a system/coach who he's familiar with and wants him - win for him.

Sf gets a player that fits their system and can contribute by just moving back in the 6th - win for them.

We move a guy we were gonna cut and move up a bit in the 6th, which adds value in case of trading the pick. - win for us.

Think even slight ly  fair treatment to a player better than moving up   in sixth round. From what I read everything else would of remained the same for Ravens
