  1. Wonder why this guy didn't get hired as a head coach? Why denver fired him? Why he hasn't seemed to have many interviews for other o cord positions?

Wonder if too many teams were scared of the manning factor?

My thing is that after Fox was pretty much fired, Denver wanted to clean house and get rid of everyone as well, so bringing in Kubiak meant bringing in a new OC more tailored to Kubs offense(Dennison).

The Manning factor is a big part of it, many audibles and a lot of talent on offense, but he was partly responsible for the success of Tebow, another reason...he's pretty young. He's 36, even younger than Peyton....

  2. Guaaahhhhh....Adam Gase is a really good candidate...But Marc Trestman just seems like a really good option. The guy led a high powered Oak. offense that was best in the league and featured Rich Gannon as the league MVP. Also, Josh McCrown's 13-0 TD:INT ratio, that was all him, If you look at his resume, it's more impressive than Kubiak's IMO.

I wouldn't mind who's the OC, both guys are great and to be honest, no one should be upset if F.O looks towards Trestman.

Gase looks like a great candidate and pretty popular.

  3. I'd like to have Gase. It would be great to have a OC that's in great relationship with his QB's. Gase is great at schemes and mismatches. Imagine that matchup problems we can create with White or Strong with Torrey opposite. I also feel like it gives Torrey a chance to play better, he wasn't fitting well in Kubiak's scheme TBH. This could be a blessing in disguise. Who knows? lol

  4. I wouldn't kind Trestman or Shanahan, maybe we can snag Adam Gase?

Gase is looking for a HC opportunity.

Besides, did you see what Josh McCrown did during his time in Chicago? That was all Trestman, it's just that the Bears are a complete dumpster fire, with Jay Cutler at the healm.

Why not as well? Baltimore is a better situation than Cleveland or Oakland.

  5. The tackling is a real issue and it really needs to be remedied. If it isn't, he is gone because there is no sense in having a safety that cannot tackle and perform the most important role a safety brings. He isn't generating TO like Ed Reed.

For every game Elam looks good, there seem to be more where he gets abused. I almost want to call the crisis center it's that bad at times. He's very hot and cold. But more than anything, Elam needs to fix that tackling. I think he stays next year but if he doesn't fix his game, he is gone in 2016.

    Lol Crisis Center.

Yeah, it's that way, it's very noticeable that defensive backs typically struggle in their first two seasons, as far as giving up on Elam I'd say they should monitor his 3rd year, I still have faith due to his heart and passion, I think it's too soon to give up players like that.

I bet if we had won in Indy and Cinci everyone would be talking about the flashes Elam has showed due to the fact that he created the chance for us to tie in Indy, or put the game away in Cincinnati.

Elam has to show consistency in 2015, that I will say.

  6. I would agree to this and I would even go as far as to say Elam is doing things right and playing well in game, but just not tackling. I think there would be a night and day difference in how people saw his play if he didn't miss so many tackles

Tackling and coverage has been a struggle, but he hasn't shown flashes? That's kind of unfair to Elam IMO, he made big plays in Indy and Cincy.

  7. torrey is so good at that deep ball and scoring, but his catch rate and desire to fight for the ball is so bad. Sign him to a one year deal and let see if he can do anything while we draft a highly touted rookie for the future.

The one year deal thing has it's advantages but it also has it's risks. Jeremy Maclin and Hakeem Nicks both did one year deals. Maclin signed the deal and now he's going to get paid big time in the market with an explosive season. Nicks, is pretty unlucky and has seen himself drop in the depth chart, now his next contract won't be so nice.

Torrey can either bet on himself like Maclin and have an explosive season, or see it fall apart like Nicks. 1YR deal thing is pretty risky and I wouldn't be surprised if Torrey isn't down for it.

  8. How much does Fitz have left in the tank really?  He hasn't cracked a 1000 yards since 2011.  I think at 32 and the high mileage on his frame he's a gamble for any team even the Cardinals if he returns.  He was also outgained by Michael Floyd this year.

If they can't make a fair deal happen with Torrey they'll need to find his production or better in free agency.  Torrey is still a great receiver for us.  If you look at his stats his 767 receivng yds are his worst of his career.  However, he added another 229 yards on 11 regular season PI call yards making the total more like 996 yards.  He drew 2 PF calls for 15 yards each bringing his overall receiving "production" to 1,026 yards.  That's also another 13 combined first fowns to his credit as well.  Throw in his career best 11 TDs and its harder to replace that production.

That means you're looking at the best in free agency and that won't come cheap.  Torrey may actually be the best value receiver out there.  realistic players in his range are then Randall Cobb, Cecil Shorts, Jeremy Maclin, Crabtree,

Great value/2nd tier receivers could be:  Kamar Aiken, Brandon Tate, Hakeem Nicks, Jarret Boykin, Denarius Moore, Eddie Royal, Nate Washington.

In Fitzgerald's defense, he's being used badly in Arizona, he's being used as a decoy and the QB throwing to him is a 3rd stringer at best. In that Panthers game, it looked like Fitzgerald is the only one that wanted to win. If his intentions are to win and even coming at a reasonable price, then He would fit great in Baltimore.  I could see him reviving his career here like Smith Sr. but at a consistent pace, I feel like on another team, he would be a star. Arizona, I feel is doing him wrong with the way they're using him. I'd love to have Torrey as well. Fitz as #1 or #2 with Torrey and Steve at the slot.

It could be too pricey, but if he decides to come to Baltimore at the right price, it would be worth it, we wouldn't have to rush to draft a WR and just build at defense. \

You got to surround Flacco with more weapons and if they can add Fitz at a good price, then It would be great, but it might be too expensive. But it might not be out of the question.

  9. Similar to Cary isn't all that nice. It was a love/hate relationship with Cary.

It was but expecting Melvin to be Jimmy Smith is too optimistic. I'd say at least we wait till he has a full offseason to work with the team. I feel like he can be another gem like Corey Graham.

There was frustrations with Cary as well, but come playoff time, he stepped it up.

  10. I hope (as everyone would agree) he becomes the next Jimmy Smith without the injury history. I know Pees would be giddy to have a healthy Jimmy and an improved Melvin.

I don't know about Jimmy Smith but he could be similar to Cary which would be very nice.
