George Johnson DE--Detroit, Rahim Moore FS--Denver and Tarrell Brown CB--Oakland are on my wishlist.
It's extend or cut with Ngata, we'll be dealing with Rice's cap hit this year at $9.5M which is just gosh awful...
Torrey is really our big FA as I don't see us keeping McPhee, so he's someone that F.O will be working with the most which is great in some aspects, Owen Daniels is a guy I'd love to keep as well but I'd keep eyes open on the open market and determine the value.
As for resignings Will Hill is most important in my opinion. He is our only proven safety and can do it all from safety position and that's a rare commodity around the NFL. It would be cool to bring Torrey back but not at expense of not being able to sign a TE and another WR that's more consistent.
I like Will as well and I don't think we'll lose him in the off-season. I'd like to see Torrey back but I'm not too optimistic, we lack cap and I'd love to see F.O have enough for K.O or Wagner(If he returns to form).
What about Tyvon Branch if he were cut but the Raiders? He holds 9 mil cap hit
I like Branch but his durability issues are a serious concern, I think a 1YR Deal would be the most likely possibility but even at that, you'd have to be cautious if he does play at a high level and hope he'd stay healthy.
Also, that would add more mystery to what we'd do with Elam, Branch is a SS, not sure if he could be moved to FS, then again, he's a smart veteran player.
I don't see it. Brown is just undersized. 3-4 OLB requires power.
I think it's possible, but I don't know why we can't have a shot at him. I think he could be an option, it is just a question of price. What he wants and what he gets are different, and I'm not sure where his value is in FA, honestly.
I think it depends on his competition. This CB class isn't all that great and if some of those guys don't hit the market, there's a chance Cox can become the top guy.
I really like Perrish Cox and Davon House as FA CB options for the team. Sterling Moore is another guy I like quite a bit as well. Tillman and T. Williams would be great, but I'm not sure about them. They're older but they would be awesome additions; I'm just not sure we have the cash to throw around.
I like Perrish as well, I'm just thinking that maybe he wants to get paid and become a starter, I don't know how realistic he is for us.
Cap savings on Wallace is only $2.5M in 2015, with $9.6M in dead money.
I'm guessing you were using Spotrac for your initial analysis, but that cite is wrong in regards to Wallace's cap amount. Of his $9.85M salary for 2015, $3M of that is guaranteed.
I don't expect the Dolphins to release him this offseason, though its possible.
Yeah, just found out, you're right if anyone, they're still uncommitted to Wallace, IMO if anyone could be cut, it might very well be Hartline who fell out of the playbook.
I do agree with this... there might not be an option.
From the 2016 perspective, the Ravens would hold more leverage then if the status quo remains. So at that point, the Ravens basically could decide whether to extend at a significant discount (probably ideal) or cut. I don't think cutting outright is a really great option this season, and Webb still has the leverage in paycut negotiations.
While I don't think it will happen, I can see Webb playing at his current cap number being a possibility IF the Ravens are actually interested in him staying for a long time and they are able to work out some cap space in other areas, such as cutting/extending Ngata and/or Yanda.
I just don't see Webb getting cut at all. He hasn't lived up to his contract, but at the moment we're very thin at CB, the savings are totally low and a post June-1st cut is pretty much useless unless you're trying to free more roster spots, wouldn't make sense in Webb's case due to the fact that he's the unsung starting #2 CB and it ain't even close. I don't see it happening.
Absolutely, our cap situation is tough and we'll indeed be over the cap right out of the gate. However, saving 2M on Webb pre-June 1 isn't worth it and saving 8M after June 1 is way more money than we can effectively use after that date. Yes, we'll need to sign rookies and grab a couple of late pick ups, but that doesn't require anything close to that kind of money. Actually, I was thinking the difference between pre and post June 1 money for Jacoby was such that they'd be looking at making him a post June 1 cut and his saving difference would be enough to sign rookies and a couple of late pick ups
If we cut him, who's taking his place? As you say, we are tight on the cap, so we can't bring in any CBs of note off of the FA. If we save the money post-June 1, anyone who is worth anything is already on a roster. I agree, I think the team will love to have him take a pay-cut, but I just don't know that they have leverage to do that.
I think we could get a trade, but it just seems unlikely.
yeah, they may drop Cary Williams, seems he never lived up to billing after leaving.
That's kind of what I thought. I wouldn't mind Cary, just not as a #2, he's best as a nickle.
I think Wallace would ask for a price too high for our cap space. There's probably cheaper options at WR out there that could still be a benefit to the offense
I'm not sure if Wallace will ask for a high price, his past two years in Miami have been pure disappointments and who on earth is really going to bid high on Wallace after his past three years? I think he'll be at reasonable asking price given by the open market, but his contract is a problem. I'd def. think Wallace would be a great fit if Torrey leaves in F.A. and would become a definite possibility.
I didn't go digging into all the #s but no wonder why Miami wants to release him, his cap hit was $17M with $27M in dead money, in 2015 it will be a cap hit of $12M and $6M in dead money, so cutting him is a no-brainer for them. I don't know if we'll do it, just seems like an extreme risk-Medium reward, so I don't see it happening.
Sterling Moore is an option. The Cowboys are cap strapped and can't resign anyone. I think he'd be a good addition.
Another guy I like is Mike Wallace. He's had to deal with a seriously awful O-Line, inconsistent QB play and bland coaching. I feel like Miami may cut the bait with Wallace soon and I wouldn't mind if we get him, he'd be a star with us, I don't know the cap #'s, but it would be a great fit.
I'd rather spend our money on McCourty than Revis.
Me too. Revis is too expensive. McCourty is a FS, what we need.
F.O should try to work out a new deal with Ngata at all risks. Our defense/pass rush was rejuvenated with Ngata back into the lineup. He may not get 10+ sacks but his ability to collapse the pocket is what helps Doom and Suggs get those sacks, especially the double teams that he demands. Ngata is a player you'd want to keep, McPhee can be a loss but I don't think that it would be that good to lose both. McPhee is one of the best pass rushers in the league despite what the #'s say and he's a very good run stopper.
Moore is good at getting INTs as well.
I agree, he's a play maker.
They are really angry to win What great attitiude However I'm a Blazers fan and can't pat you on the back just yet
I like Portland but they lost Aldridge and already they're playing without Lopez, that can hurt them.
I'd really like Moore and Hill, that would be one of the better safety pairs in the NFL.
I agree, a lot of people give Moore flack for what happened in the divisional, I bet if the same play happened again, Moore would make the right one, people learn from stuff like that. I'd love to have Moore and pair him with Hill, secondary would vastly improve.
Rahim Moore FS, George Johnson DE, Shareece Wright CB, Tarell Brown CB.... are guy I think F.O could target.
Rahim Moore is a good FS. I think it would be a coup to acquire his talents. He would certainly be a good player. He's no Earl Thomas but I don't see many of them. I'd be happy with Moore.
I'd love to have Rahim Moore. We have a serious hole at free safety and Moore is a rising guy. It would also be ideal to move Will Hill back to Strong Safety where he naturally belongs in. That would gives us a solid safety group, along with a CB group with Jimmy back and Webb full health, and a pass rush, our defense could be back.
I also think it's ideal to grab one more CB.
It's good to hear they're keeping the ZBS. Man, if Eugene can bounce back our O-Line can seriously be great. All in all, great fit.
If Front office decides to find a FS, I don't see where Elam would end up. He's shown flashes but he's just hasn't been there.
Wish him the best of luck
The concern is the screen game and regression. We're not a screen team necessarily and Trestman's offense is known to fall apart the next season. We need a big bodied WR still, so I'm very confident that F.O is going in that direction R1.
I am very meh about this. Soft, passes too much, not balanced enough. On the other hand, he's old, won't be a one year rental, and we can keep a decent system for a while. Also, our young assistant coaches will learn from him, and hopefully, they'll have some say in the gameplan. I wonder what this means for Castillo and co. Castillo is also a WCO guy, so he probably stays, unless Trestman is a man blocking guy. Hopefully our RB and WR coach stick around.
I'm gonna take a look at Chicago's offensive numbers in 13 and 14.
Look at Trestman's resume. It's no fluke, he's taken average QB's and made them great. Josh McCrown, Jake Plummer, Scott Mitchell Rich Gannon. He's a great offensive mind.

I'd like Aldon if he were to succeed Suggs or Dumervile, but as of now it's too much of a high risk-high punishment type of deal. A lot of cash for a guy we're not sure to stay out of trouble.
