  1. I just hope the scheme is not another 35 year old receiver for Joe.

I don't believe Oz is going to go after Free Agents unless there is a bargain.  He's following the Pats Plan...just take whatever WR's are available at a discount.

You know, Joe Flacco's career is not without limits.  And Joe is not the type of Quarterback one wants to have to keep learning new receivers.  Torrey Smith was a success, but Oz doesn't appear to want to pay a WR market value, nor has he been overly successful finding them in the draft.  So it's a catch 22 that's for sure.

We'll we've got Steve Smith, Marlon Brown, Campernaro and Aiken .... The big TE from Colorado State.

Are those legitimately enough weapons for Flacco?  Sure seems a puzzlement to me.

I don't think he'll be targeting a guy of older age similar to SSS. Problem is Torrey attracted too much attention and wasn't given single coverage on many occasions in 2013. The expectations with SSS was that Torrey would have a Pro Bowl year. Now that we lost Torrey, there is a need to actually put talent on the receiving end instead of support.

I have a feeling he's making a move for one of the top WR's in this class, White, Cooper or Parker, I think he's making a move on them, it doesn't seem like we're signing Bowe or Johnson.

  2. i don't want wayne nicks or shorts

I have more belief in stevie johnson

also..while it would be shocking..greg hardy would be a very good mcphee replacement

Greg Hardy I find severely doubtful as well.

I like Steve Johnson, he was in a crowded group in San Fran, and he's had plenty of 1000 seasons, I think he'd be a great #2 here.

  3. Dwayne Bowe is an intriguing option to help fill the void left by Torrey. I know he had only 1 amazing year, but it really felt like he declined because Cassel fell off a cliff and once Smith arrived, he decided he didn't want to ever throw the ball more than 15 yards down field and Bowe disappeared.

He seems like the kind of guy who could be revitalized by a new environment and with having a QB who has absolutely no problem with airing it out. Of course, we'll have competition and among our competitors are the Browns, who have a lot more available cash.

I'm afraid we're going to have to wait for a while for the market to cool before we start pursuing other options.

I feel like our competition is too great, I'm not too high on Bowe, if we sign him I hope he proves me wrong, granted Alex Smith being his QB may be a reason for a decline, but he was the clear #1 option for them by a mile at WR and didn't even produce at the level of a #2, I'm not too sold on him to be quiet honest but I hope I'm wrong.

  4. I think the plan right now is for Will Hill to start at FS and we give Elam another shot at SS. If Elam struggles again than once Brooks is ready to go maybe he slides in at FS and Hill moves to SS.

The point is we have options with guys currently on the roster. For as much grief as our safeties have gotten recently it was our corners that killed us last year.

I think that's the idea. Oz did challenge Elam to play like a first rounder so I don't think he's given up on him.

  5. Kenny Stills is up for trade, I heavily prefer him over Dwayne Bowe. Stills is cheaper but I think the Saints are looking for a nice pick, makes no sense to shop a young player with a very low cap hit with a high ceiling. Something tells me they're gunning for a WR in this draft.

  6. Agree very highly with this. We seem happier bringing in an older veteran. Mason was already here, we traded for Boldin, signed guys like Houshmandzadeh, Evans, Steve Smith Sr (who's great), etc.

Same goes for tight ends although we've been solid there with a veteran Heap, Dickson (for one season), and Pitta. Daniels filled in well last year.

We're good when it comes to TE's, it's a position that's always worked for us. We got our problems at WR and I think this is the draft where we take one.

  7. Looks like he's re-signing with The Rams.

It would be good if he does, puts us in better position in the draft. It would be godsent if Oak doesn't pick a WR at 4. I I think they could go other ways, Reggie McKenzie indicated that he wants to build more on defense, I think Crabtree could become a reality for them. We'll be lucky if no one from the top ten picks a WR.

  8. I agree. I've been pounding the table for a FS since we lost Ed. Moore would be a significant improvement over Browner.

That's how I feel, I also don't feel that CB is as big as a need as others believe. It's a hurt group and with Moore, our secondary would def. get better. I would love the addition and I think it will be at a good price. With 10M in cap, I wonder what we would offer.

  9. I'm having a hard time knowing what kind of costs will exist for the players on the market, but CBs are getting paid. Look at what Cary Williams got.

I think we're going to be addressing multiple positions in FA and while the money made available via the Ngata trade looks like a lot, it will get eaten quickly if we sign players with significant financial impact.

Don't know for sure, but Browner might still be more than we want to spend on a single player. it is nice to be in a position, though, where you can at least consider such moves.

I'd rather have Rahim Moore than Brandon Browner, IMO FS is our biggest hole. Browner is good, but I'm not all for it. Call me crazy, I'd rather have Patrick Robinson as well who's still out there.

I'd rather Ed Reed come out of retirement first.

I won't lie I really wanted us to draft this dude, but once again I'm glad Ozzie makes the decisions and not me. Might as well just find some undrafted player that could help our team.

Kenny Britt is a perpetual under achiever who will only disappoint you. Would just be wasted cap space.

Like the others said, he's gotten better a ton and is only 25, he hasn't even reached his peak and could be a great safety in the future. I'd love for us to get him and honestly what options do we has a FS? Elam can't play the position and Hill is much better at SS. Moore and Hill would make a great safety tandem. This Draft also carries a weak safety class, I'd take Moore over any of them.

  11. Trying to replace the production of Ngata at value will be almost impossible. Drafting and development will be the only way to do this. Same with Mcphee

The FO needs to be looking towards improving the offense at WR and RB. The defense will get better with talent returning from injury and be "okay" in the short term, but we cannot afford an anemic offense without the attention Ngata and Mcphee command or the production they provided.

Ravens better use those picks to secure some elite talent via trade or draft (how we didnt offer/try Ngata for Graham is beyond me. Financially I'm sure we could have made it work)

I think trading Ngata was about getting us some breathing room, I like Graham, but if we didn't go for Marshall via trade, I doubt we'd do it for Jimmy.

Agree on needs, it will be hard to fill in for WR&RB without filling in Ngata and McPhee.

  12. I see that going either one of two ways: 1) he wants to come to the team he helped allow win a championship by helping them win another when he is actually on the team + I think fans would have no problem adopting him, or 2) he wouldn't dare show his face in this city in the fears he would never hear the end of the "Mile High Miracle"

    Lol very well.

On a serious note, I don't know what he was thinking on that 70 yard bomb to Jacoby, but overall hes a talented player and improving, I'd love for us to have him. I just hope that slip up doesn't happen to us. Lol.
