  1. Kupp is getting too much press and recognition to fall to the 4th. Doubt that happens unless something out there we don't know about him comes out. I like the other picks, haven't studied everyone but it makes a ton of sense for us to pick a center if we don't address one via FA.
  2. I can agree with the route running on Williams, but I think early on he's going to have to win in a variety of more ways than natural ability such as high-pointing the ball and catching radius, NFL CBs and Safeties are a different breed and it's going to be a huge adjustment for him. I don't think that means he struggles out of the gate, but I don't think he's going to make the same impact as Davis who can do both of those things but win in more ways. I think both guys are going to make an impact day one but I think Davis is going to do a bit better out of the gate and also possesses a high ceiling even though I would agree that Williams might be a bit higher.
  3. I just love Davis toughness and aggressiveness and I think it translates well into his game. I think the positives far outweigh the negatives and he can run some good routes, he's not always perfect at it but I've seen him run some sharp routes and I think in the future he could be one of the better route runners of the league, combine that with his size and speed and the guy can be a legit monster. I don't know who's better between the two, but I think Davis might be making the case that he's the best receiver in this class. I agree that WR is a dark-horse pick because the team more than anything wants a play-maker, Oz and DeCosta alluded to getting guys who can make plays for quite a while and they would love to have that at WR.
  4. If Feeney projects as a C then I think we could definitely take him in a trade back scenario. I believe the team has a lot of confidence in Alex Lewis though and sees him as a potential stud at LG.
  5. I really do like Davis, I'm starting to believe he might be the best WR in this class after watching him yesterday. I would really like to have him here.
  6. That's definitely the case for TE, I think we've had some good rookie safety's before, I don't know if that's the case completely for that group. Linebacker to me is the one that comes in and produces, but I don't think we want to take one early. CBs take a while to come along as well as do LTs. I don't think we're going to avoid someone who takes time, but I think what we're looking for is someone at a position of need who can make an impact early, I don't think we want to go the route of Williams/Correa and pick someone based on potential which is why I think we might avoid Howard.
  7. I scoffed at the idea of taking Zeke a while back since I didn't want us to pick an RB that high. Would take Stanley over him if he's destined to be an All-Pro LT, with that said, Zeke would have been a damn good pick at 6, If Fournette is just as good than I'm fine with it. Wouldn't be the worst move we could make.
  8. I like Howard but I think the team wants to take someone who can be an immediate contributor. We'll see but he would have to seriously impress.
  9. It's not much of Kubiak's offense anymore. The OL scheme is going away a bit from his traditional ZBS and I feel that more elements to the offense are going to be added. Bringing in players that are a fit for what he sees desires in a offense that doesn't match up with what we want/do could backfire.
  10. That's what concerns me about Wallace. He didn't have any injury concerns, if so they would have been revealed by now. I don't know if it was him running out of steam either because he was still playing with the same speed and I didn't see a drop off in his intensity. From what I seen, when in tight man coverage, he struggled sometimes, he couldn't win in those slant/shallow routes often because he wasn't physical enough and I think that was a sign that teams caught onto Wallace. Maybe going back to him burning out, he did fail a conditioning test early in the off-season so maybe his stamina might be on the decline? But that to me is an insult to Wallace and one I don't really think is a possibility at all, I wouldn't go that far considering that it didn't sound like a problem at all after that. There's plenty of reasons but I think the reasons listed above in terms of his lack of physicality in a WCO and struggles in tight man could explain it, this might sound like a shot at our offense but I think Mike Wallace might have been more effective in another system where he wouldn't have to attack the slant so often.
  11. Wallace runs those slants/crossing patterns better than Torrey, but I'm not blown away by that aspect of his game due to his lack of physicality, but regardless Torrey to me was just too unpolished of a WR. Too unrefined and I think Wallace is just ahead right now in terms of receivers.
  12. Zrebeic didn't even say that the Ravens are interested, he seemed to have suggest it and made a connection. I hope it happens but his locker room problems says otherwise, I know Steve Smith Sr. Didn't exactly get along with everyone but he played for one time before coming here, Marshall seems to have bounced around a lot so I personally think his problems might be more serious, I know he's solved some of his other past issues but since solving it he's heading towards his 3rd team, that's concerning. What does that say about a player that's so talented? That said, he could be exactly what we and he needs. I would keep in mind that the Ravens are a team much better run than the Jets or Bears.
  13. I don't understand the Jimmy haters/critics. With him gone you would think that they would have learned their lesson but no, let's cut him and not know who to replace him with. If I were Ozzie I would proudly give him that contract because he's completely worth it. He's for sure our most valuable player on defense.
  14. Wallace and I'm not thinking too hard about it. I got a lot of love for what Torrey has done here but I think Wallace can do a bit more than him.
  15. He's absolutely going to have to play better, but the offense as a whole needs to do a better job next year. 10 points at M&T against one of the worst defenses in the league(Redskins), turnover in your side of the field in a game that I actually believe the defense played well in(Oakland), back-to-back turnovers vs NYJ(Worst team). Biscotti said the defense was just as liable as the offense this season, I think the defense is liable for the end of the season collapse but I don't think they're just as liable, they had guys hurt and that played into their season, I can't say the same for the offense who while had an OL that shifted around, still had games where they did well in pass protection but didn't produce a good offensive game.
  16. Could be, but this team has talked about getting play-makers for so long that if they could find someone who can make plays, they would take him no matter the position.
  17. I think what they believe this offense is missing is a play-maker. Of course this is assuming that we don't make the move of getting a WR via FA or in the very least get one who is a #3 at best. We can surely get one via the draft why not if we fill in the CB/OLB via FA? Who says that's not possible? Mike Wallace is getting up there in age and Breshad Perriman is heading towards year 3 of his rookie year deal with year 5 option being questionable as to whether its picked up. Mike Williams would be a much welcomed addition. I'm not saying that we'll pick one period, but if a guy like Mike Williams or Cory Davis(If so desired) falls to our lap then I think its very possible we take them over a CB/OLB. Also, DeCosta said this so many times and he said it again, "when you need a play, the guy is there to make a play". The Ravens need play-makers and I think the Ravens want them regardless of their position and it feels like play-maker is the highest priority.
  18. Given what DeCosta and Horitz said, I think WR is absolutely in the cards in the first round. We might even take one over a CB.
  19. I understand that Seattle is an all-time great defense, but the point I'm getting across is that all-time great defense came across an all-time great offense. It takes a lot of game-planning and really good play calling to stop an offense as good as Denver's with or without all-pro talent on defense and I give credit to Quinn for that. NE did beat that group, but Denver nearly did as well and lets not forget that Seattle had that game won if not for that blatant INT at the end of the game, otherwise they would've been given credit for forcing two turnovers against a magnificent offense with a defense that wasn't 100% and was losing players as the game went on. I don't think the Patriots played the same 2013 Seahawks defense to be honest with you. I don't think the Falcons have an impressive defense, but I don't think they're as bad as some say. Since week 11 the Falcons have allowed more than 21 points twice and one was against in which K.C got eight from a pick 6 and a 2PT return. I also think they played two pretty good games recently against Green bay(Who was hot) and Seattle (who completely killed the Patriots defense in Gillette). You can get a good game from this defense honestly, I don't think they're like a defense like San Francisco or Cleveland who are prone to getting pancaked any given week. Since the week 11 bye I think some people can call them a good defense with the adjustments they've made, I would honestly put them in the 13-20 range among defenses if the bye week is any indication of what they are, they're a young defense and needed to gel, it took time, but I think they're showing of what they're capable of. I may sound overly optimistic since I'm talking about them going up against the best QB/HC duo, but they've been stopped before, everyone has. A HC as good as Belichick will even match-up against defensive geniuses like Dan Quinn who can come up with some damn good game-plans too. I don't see an impressive pass rush from the Patriots either, I think they're very over-reliant on scheming up blitzes. They do a great job of shifting that DL and keep teams guessing, but as I said before, they're going up against a whole different animal in Atlanta. I get that Pittsburgh offense can be great, but this Falcons offense is historic and undoubtedly the best in the league. We'll see how the Patriots fare, but this Falcons offense is historic, I think their defense is going to have a tough task as well, if the Falcons defense can hold their own then they can take it. I'm not saying their going to win, I just think some people should give them a shot before handing the trophy to the Patriots.
  20. Denver's offense wasn't just great, it was all-time great. They were top 3 all time in 3 category's, PPG, First downs per game, and YPG. Tied for first in 50 point games and since 1990 in total points scored, the 2013 Denver Broncos were/are #1 in the league. and had they won that SB, they would have been agreed upon by many as the greatest offense ever. That takes a whole lot of game-planning and scheming to stop. Also, that same season the Patriots beat the Seahawks, Denver nearly did as well at Century link with them not even being able to get the ball back in OT. I don't think this Patriots defense is as good as some make it to be. Don't get me wrong, it's a good defense but I wouldn't put it in the elite category. I think they're very dependent on scheme and game-planning given the lack of All-Pro(Even Pro Bowl) talent on that defense. Also, when addressing their #1 opponents PPG, I honestly have to say that their stat is pretty inflated given the severe lack of elite or upper echelon of NFL offenses they played. I would not put Buffalo, New York Jets, or Miami near that category. They played 6 of the bottom ten teams in the lowest PPG category which consists of LA Rams, Cleveland Browns, NY Jets, Houston Texans, Cincinnati Bengals and San Francisco 49ers. Denver and Baltimore themselves weren't exactly great scoring offenses coming in at 20 and 21st respectively. The only team they played within the top ten in scoring PPG was Arizona and we know how their season went down. I can't give them credit for limiting Pitt to 17 without Big Ben in the game honestly. To their credit Buffalo is 10th in scoring PPG, but that's a very inconsistent offense that shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breath of the top offenses. Seattle comes in at 17th and they had a very poor showing their defensively, then Miami at 19th. Meanwhile, their SB opponent, Atlanta Falcons were #1 in the league putting up an insane 34.4 PPG. All of the great SB Defenses all have one thing in common, they can rush the passer and NE isn't really great at that. While ATL isn't great at that either, they have someone who can consistently do it in Vic Beasley. I understand Bill is going to come up with something and surprise us, but ATL has someone of a brilliant defensive mind in Dan Quinn who knows how to limit(Not stop) top NFL offenses.
  21. It is confusing that they would try to get more physical and bring in more maulers on the line, yet hire someone with a ZBS background. If you're looking to run a ZBS, then you would want guys who are lighter and can easily get to the 2nd level. I would say that Wagner fits that greatly, as does Stanley and to an extent Alex Lewis, especially Zuttah who doesn't play with a lot of strength. I think that's why you see a lot of physical players fail in a ZBS system, players who can't get to the 2nd level on their blocks are not a fit for that type of blocking, if the Ravens are committed to bringing in more bigger and physical players, then they're going to have to be far less committed in the ZBS, ultimately they might have to abandon it, Marty ultimately gets to decide which scheme he wants to run, its his playbook so they probably mix it up a bit like Yanda said the Ravens have been doing. I don't think that the offensive line coach gets to decide that.
  22. I wouldn't be surprised if we traded for one. I think we'll be very aggressive with center.
  23. It might be just as risky to believe that Wagner can transition to that power/gap scheme full-time. I know we played a little bit of it during the season but you're going to be asking someone who isn't what you would describe as a physical presence or a mauler to repeatedly take his opposing defender to school. As I said, the team has been hurt badly by guys who receive big pay days and see a serious decline. They want to cut back on that and Wagner could be a decline candidate if the system doesn't fit him. Funny thing is the Ravens never went ahead and said they're completely changing the OL blocking scheme, but I don't think getting physical and being as serious with the OL as they have been starts and ends with Zuttah.
  24. It does, but I think the new staff and the Ravens might not see Wagner as a fit for what they want. They talked about being physical and alluded to getting maulers on the line, does that sound like Rick Wagner to you? It doesn't to me, I think the decision to make Joe better has to do with the run game just as much as it does pass protection. You keep Joe healthy and upright by letting him hand it off.
  25. Yeah, me and Ravensfan23 were talking about that and he did bring that up. I do believe they would like to keep Lewis at LG. They feel really good about him there, I just think that a RT move is very possible given that he can play with much more physicality there, the LT experience also helps. They are really high on him at LG but rather than saying that they will move him to RT, I will say that its a hypothetical scenario. They even went as far as to compare him to KO, but they could be speaking in terms of versatility as well for all we know. It would make sense that they would rather have stronger play at LG than RT.
