This is just another in a series of cultural defeats. By that, I mean that the culture of this organization is: play soft with a lead. It's been going on for years. I'm quick to blame Dean Pees, who I think is as awful a coach as there is in the NFL, but this lack of killer instinct may originate higher up.

We won the Super Bowl, barely, on the backs of Joe Flacco and Anquan Boldin and the emotion of Ray Lewis' last season. Since then, we've probably blown more leads and given up more points in the last two minutes of a half than any team in football. That's not individual players, that's a mentality. That's a culture.

Yes, we need a pass rush. And shut-down corners who can stay healthy. I'm all about #BringBackRex. Rushing 3 or 4 against 5 or 6, giving pro quarterbacks all day to survey the field and playing linebackers in space is a recipe for quick opposing scoring drives and teams prove it over and over again in this league, yet there are some coaches (Dean Pees) who simply know no other way to game plan.

    It has to end.

So Ozzie should look at his scouts and head coach, and Harbaugh should look at his coordinators, but if we're not going to put up 35 points a game, then we need to learn how to keep up the pressure when we have a lead, and we'll never get there under the current culture.

"Play Like A Raven" has come to mean "fold when it counts."

"Play Like A Raven" has come to mean "fold when it counts." That's John Harbaugh and his soft BFF coaching staff's contribution to the Ravens.

How many times did they run the ball; how many times did they need to throw in the flat.. The only players trusted to catch a football are DP and SS; the old injured guys. Most of the roster - staff won't be there.

1 thing that bothered me a lot bout this game and the nfl in general, not trying to be "Mr Conspiracy" but it puts doubt in your mind about integrity of the games not being fixed.
    1) how in the world is Sizzle on the bench for final drive of the game? Or he was atleast until they got down into the redzone. Dont tell me he needed a breather, not like that excuse doesnt work when the games on the line.
    2) Steve Smith sr? He was a ghost in the 2nd half especially in the redzone when he dominated 1st half. Thats fishy.

Those things make my antennas perk up and sound the alarms

Been saying this for a while. I predicted a Cowboys/Patriots superbowl 2 months ago. Too many suspect plays.

There is nothing to break down.. This football team is terrible. Everyone should be ashamed. If they were less concerned with celebrating, cultural favors, and taking instagram photos. Maybe they would learn how to catch, and play football.

I didn't understand that pass ha was intercepted when we just needed to run th clock down and keep pounding. I get the idea to try and score once more, but there was plenty of time left for that. I will not blame any one segment of the team in this game. This entire team was hot and cold today. at least we came out with the "w".

No. "At least" is never allowed to be used in pro sports. He always throws an interception at the wrong time. Points should have been had there. Save the cultural rhetoric for your twitter feeds.

There are some comments here that the Cardinals have released Michael Floyd. If that is true, I think that the Ravens absolutely should consider giving up one of the DB's for a space for Michael if they can work out a deal. Elam, Huff, lewis-Harris all are expendable for the rest of the season.

It's not a comment that Michael Floyd was released, it's a fact. We don't need him. We have better talents. Again I believe that our problem on offense is not talent but leadership and scheme

Yea. Seems like they don't practice enough together. That safety... Lol.

  5. I think the Ravens moving Yanda to LG is a great help to Stanley. I would make it a permanent move. Alex Lewis needs to get stronger and his best position might be on the right side either at guard or tackle if Wagner leaves via free agency.

"The refs miss calls given the difficulty of the job.." Get that out of here. And as for the offense, if people can't get separation along with flacco not overthrowing. Then a bunch of people are going to get fired next season.

So we waive Hester...good riddance; but we call up Campanaro...a cat that can't stay healthy? Smh!

this is camps last chance. if he gets injured these next 3 games than he should retire.

He should have never been signed to begin with, all his previous teams cut him for this reason.

On last night's game..Ravens proved they are not ready to contend. Why are Hester and Elam still on the team, someone please tell me. Even if Ravens make the playoffs, and I think they can, I don't see them making any noise there.

Now, concerning the game in London; this will be my first chance to see them in person. Soooo looking forward to this!

Hester is still on the team because his contract is fully guaranteed and we don't have anyone else on the team who can even fair catch punts or kicks (if you remember from the preseason). As for Elam, he's looked good playing at SS this season, but we had to put him in the slot because Powers was out of the game. Elam still isn't (and never has been) good at coverage from the line, ergo Brady audibled and we all saw what happened.

More disappointed in Weddle for not sitting back on the play to be honest - we know he's lightyears ahead of Elam in terms of coverage abilities yet he still screwed up royally on the play.

I would be talking about next season too.. This team looks like the pre-2000 teams. I can't tell if flacco is better than boller at this point of his career.

  8. 5 Things to Watch Vs NE

    1) Get blown out early.
    2) Lethargic Flacco passing short of the marker with no help from the OL.
    3) Late Special team heroics to make it very interesting down the stretch.
    4) Allow a 79 Yd TD in the following play.
    5) Watch the most lackadaisical, lifeless, with no-sense-of-urgency offense try to mount a late comeback.

    6) Lose.

This is not a good football team.

  9. As in they are inconsistent, could win big or lose big type of dark horse, sure. If they do what they just did to the dolphins against their greater division foe in the patriots, we can buy into the hype. ---- Flacco has to stop forcing throws to the other team. Why, I stopped playing fantasy football, players don't show  up, they show outside.

I wouldn't mind a kickoff between the uprights coming out to the 10 yard line. I don't care for giving points on it since it is basically impossible to defense. I also think it wouldn't happen as much as people think.

Too many rules. Football used to be straight up position battles. And the run defense, not sure the league is playing as good of football as in 2000, they are going to need to be that good, after all the shuffling in the secondary.

I don't understand why it's so hard for him to slide on his right leg. I played baseball up through college and know for a fact that most are taught at an early age how to slide on both legs. When sliding feet first, you should always want to slide with your back facing the direction the throw is coming from.

Joe one of those guys that can't or has a hard time changing any thing out of his norm. One reason the offense is so predictable.

Another non-story. Someone said something about this a couple seasons ago... I think athletes need to worry less about outside crap and do their job.  After 20 years of playing football, you shouldn't have to comment on someone's technique.

I think we have the players to beat the Cowboys if they play to what we have seen from them. I think we have finally come to the realization that Joe needs to be choreographed with his footwork and not let him do as much ad lib as he has been doing. Three steps fire it out, five steps, fire it out. Accuracy with Joe is a work in progress. I wonder if it is accuracy as much as just knowing where to put it. I have seen too many post patterns where the receiver is cutting diagonally across the field and it is green grass in front of him and he throws over his head to his back side. It is the identical throw he made to Wallace for the first touchdown of the season. He had the exact same pass numerous times and throws the ball in the wrong place. Most recently, he had Aiken wide open in front of Haden and he missed him. Missed a touchdown just sitting and waiting to happen. Even after 8 or 9 years, Joe is still like coaching a rookie. All those things he learns he quickly forgets and the OC has to constantly stay in his ear. Watch your footwork, watch you mechanics, lead your receivers, quick drifting to your back foot, change out of a bad play, pay attention to the play clock. Same messages over and over to the same QB for 8 years and he is lazy, if your not on him, he will revert. He needs a dedicated QB coach like Dennison with the authority of the OC to get on him and keep him focused on those things that are important. I love Flacco, but I love my children too and it doesn't stop me from telling them to clean their rooms over and over and over if they don't do it. I don't judge them, I just make them do it and find a way to get them to do it on their own. Flacco is like my child.

Love this post! Right on the money!

? He knows how to play football, isn't. Throwing up prayers instead of throwing out of bounds. Prescott is playing better right now.

  13. Get him outta here! It seems like the Ravens only signed him to a contract to just catch the ball. Its been many times where he had room to run but chose to fair catch. We aren't flipping the field or getting good field position in the return because of it. Hell give me a contract for a week, I'll catch the damn ball and fair catch everytime too.

He's been in the league for how long? He has to catch the ball and run, or choose not to run. Come on..Not buying that.
