  1. "He looks good to me back there". Smith Sr.looks good to a lot of us, standing back there. My scare is watching his 36 year old body moving forward into enemy territory. He is our go to guy WR. Harbaugh, if you can't come up with anybody (Ross James)you've lost your cookies.
  2. We will depend on our defense throughout the entire season, depending how far we go forward. Our secondary was and will be fabulous. Everything will continue to go good for the defense. On the other hand, Trestman is a nomad. He comes in and goes away. Doing preseason and after yesterday, he hasn't impressed me in any way. Next year, down the road, he'll pitch his tent somewhere else.
  3. It's not that Flacco didn't have the time to throw deep. There were times when he could have, but to whom? We don't have one receiver who can out distance the corners much less the safeties. Letting Torrey and Jacoby go was a decision that has come back to haunt us for the entire season. I don't expect much from Perriman this year. He hasn't even practiced. Watching Campanaro awaiting kick offs makes me think he's in Harbaugh's dog house. What did he do wrong? The Ravens have James and Ross sitting idly by waiting, I suppose, for Camp to be carted off the field.
  4. Note to Eisenburg: Everybody on this post realizes that Kubiak (not Kukiak proof read, John, please) is going to bring it. So why waste ink on the obvious. Why not, instead, tell us how Harbaugh is preparing to crush Manning. It still unnerves me, against New England, when Suggs and Dumervil couldn't get to Brady, from the edge, when he was dinking and dunking all day long. Come on John, tell us what we don't know and want to find out.
  5. Don't put too much emphasis on our wide outs. This upcoming game is going to depend a lot on our tight ends. The Broncos can't handle Gillmore and both Williams and Boyle have to play not like rookies which is asking a lot. Keep the Denver secondary off balance.
  6. We'll know who we are by 5:25 pm ET or shortly there after. Manning will go after are entire secondary, not just Webb. He'll go after whoever is the weakest link on every play. Do I like Manning? Not really. Is he the best QB playing the game right now? He's up there. I don't expect Manning to pin our ears back like last time, but I will be surprised if we come out with a win. Just keep it close.
  7. I want to see how well he does on kick returns. How much yardage he gains. Refuses to be tackled on the two yard line. Doesn't fall all over himself in front of the kicker. If he does well, then I'll look at his socks.
  8. His chance of racking up yds. is less than his coming away with a pulled hamstring or some soft tissue issue. Give the job to James.
  9. "Ravens Best They Can Be" Downing put the cork back in the bottle, please. Our really fast WR is mysteriously incognito. Who will be our lights out return player . We're missing one more running back. I have a growing concern about injuries to our secondary. Our 2nd. D line gives up too many rushing yards.
  10. I could be wrong, but I won't be surprised to see Ross out there Sunday afternoon in Denver starting as our kick off/punt return player. We signed him for no other reason.
  11. Last part of last season. Jacoby was only making it back to the 15 yd. line. His legs were gone. Still, the Ravens could have brought him back this year until his legs got tired. When his legs go, put in Asa for the remaining games as the kick off returner. We get rid of our best return players for Campanaro. He doesn't have the moves and he's crystal glass. Ozzie's going to rue the day he followed through with this one.
  12. Both McGee and Toussaint are gone. Maybe there's room for a rugby player. Hayne made it in Frisco.
  13. He'll miss Boston, the Commons, Cambridge and the Harvard Yard.
  14. So when Perriman takes a tumble the next time on his knees, can we all expect him to go to the bench for another month or so? Looks that way. Every time this kid goes down, I'll react the same way as I will for Pitta. If Pitta ever plays again.
  15. Jackson's 25 years old and shows potential? This means, by the time he's 30, he will catch the football, run through defenders, cross the goal line and most important, will not fall down. I think we should keep him. He adds that unexplainable element to the game like no one knows what will happen when Asa takes off with the football.
  16. The court decision regarding Brady is good for us; even though I thoroughly disagree with it. He'll be playing against Pittsburgh, not the rookie backup.
  17. Play Renner start to finish. If the kid is going to the practice squad give him a big send off. Who knows? He may have the game of his life and move Schaub off the roster.
  18. The Ravens saw natural talent in KLP or they would never have gone near him, to even sign him as a red shirt. I think he will do well tomorrow night and make the final roster. He'll improve on his pass rushing techniques.
  19. "When the Ranvens", come on Fastynart, no matter your creative writing skills, no one screws up our team title. Either proofread or lay off the Jose Cuervo when you're leaning over the keys.
  20. We lost this game big time. Even if Allen had crossed the goal line with ball in hand, big deal. I think Allen understands now that he's in the NFL. It's not East Carolina football.
  21. The Mom Gene: Surmising on what's going to happen is one of our inalienable creative rights, right or wrong. It would be a boring state of affairs if we all just waited for the season to start with our thoughts on hold. None of us will ever win the Nobel nor Pulitzer cranking out these my point of view posts but at least we can attempt to state our opinions if for no other reason to relieve the tension that builds up during preseason.
  22. Gillmore will replace Pitta. Better, not as good, who knows. It will happen. I'm thinking Gilmore may surpass Pitta in a year or so. We won't forget Pitta. As we have never forgotten Mackey, Mutscheller nor Heap. The sun sets on some players sooner than others. The sun also rises on the young and promising. My mind set tells me Pitta should retire.
  23. We don't have a returner. Qadry said after Jackson was caught on the two yd. line "put on the afterburners, don't let him catch you." When you have five yds. on your defender, its in the house. Our red zone offense is still bad. Our running attack got bogged down. Allen was bad. Next Thursday, we may see what Toussaint can do.
  24. Am I right or wrong? 100+ points on our D after 3 games. 31 unanswered points. Even in preseason, one does not fumble going into the end zone. Nor should a player get taken down on the one yd. line after a 103 yd. run. Ignite the burners! Where is our secondary? Where is our team? When Washington Qb's can dice us up like this, Lord help us in a few weeks. If Flacco is injured, our season is over. Play Renner over Schaub. It could be a long sad season.
  25. I've been patient so far. Another year or so won't hurt. I'll be dead from old age before he starts to play. Someone, please, come over and kick my tombstone just so I know he's in the game.
