  1. Fullbacks prove their worth totin' the ball. Alan Ameche hardly ever caught the ball. He just plowed thu. I can't remember Joe Perry (when he played for the Colts) ever being a "receiver". Marion Motley... Otto Graham would hand him the ball and Motley would sorta walk through the defense until he felt like stopping, signing autographs along the way. Nagursky was before my time, but having talked to "Monsters of the Midway" players who played with him, he just ran over you for the fun of it. If Juszczyk wants to be a real fullback, to this old school fan, he has to carry men on his back for the necessary yardage from the hand off.
  2. The season is over as far as a wildcard, but still there are some interesting facets left in it. We can see how Schaub works with a three tight end corps. Get the TE's in a groove for next year. Terrance West, one way or the other. He could mature into a blue chip player. Maybe West understands what an idiotic lifestyle did to Manziel.
  3. I only remember Fisher, assistant coach at Houston some years back, flailing away at either Bum Phillips or some other assistant coach on the sidelines. At that time he seemed a very angry young man. Still is, just older.
  4. Week three for the Bears, 63 yards 2 interceptions. I'm glad he has a "mental leg up" and he knows the "framework". Qb rating of 65.3 over two years. Have we really sunk this low. I'm surprised Mink would even print this for us to read. It's been a terrible season, Mink. Now you're trying to spoil Thanksgiving for us.
  5. I don't understand the developing horror story. Leave that to Poe. Flacco will be back practicing July/August. He's never been a Fran Tarkenton type QB. The leg will heal. He'll stand tall and zero in on his TE's, wide outs including Perriman. We will read that Joe is progressing on a daily basis. I'm sure Sarah will keep us well informed. If not, there are blog writers to keep us up on his every move until training camp. What worries me is Schaub. Will he produce off the bench? The Ravens, instead, find Renner? Next season will take care of itself. I have faith in our FO.
  6. Justin Forsett seems to have a sense of humor when he needs it.
  7. This article is filler space only. Both these players play defense. They won't oppose each other. They don't even play the same position. How do you compare? Who cares who's having the really big second season. Let's win the freakin' ball game. After thought, they don't grow oranges in England.
  8. John, join the media chorus. We all want the Ravens to win every game. The Ravens won't undermine winning by playing the young players. I would play our young guys rather than go out into the market place and find retreads through a revolving door. The only way they can improve their level of play and confidence is on the field during game time. What would you prefer, start the "Youth Experiment" next season? By the way, I don't see too many wins up to now, so go for it.
  9. Start him. Can't lose anything. He has the smarts to overcome his mental errors, playing game time. The season is over. Play the young guys. Choose the players for 2016.
  10. Climbing into his brother's suitcase to be together brings a tear to my eye. Proves that your best friend is your brother.
  11. "It'll be fun to watch him play and see how he does". Coach Harbaugh has a weird way of motivating the troops. If the ball goes over Flacco's head and winds up in the end zone, I should be rolling around LMAO?
  12. Sami: I agree with your post. Both Ross and Jackson made mistakes, but half way through the season to can them both tells me that there is discontent, frustration and finger pointing brewing in the castle. These players are scapegoats that paid the price for a disastrous season that the coaches and FO won't except, mostly, as their fault.
  13. I need a theater program to see who's in the play. This week's talent is (fill in the blank). But don't be too assured. This weeks wonder could be just another one night stand. Clay couldn't make it with the Bucs or the Lions. Who knows? At this point in terrible time, I can't keep up.
  14. The season is half over and our head coach/OC wake up to the fact that was obvious from the very beginning; have three big pass catchers on the field all at once. Instead of depending on wide outs, they could have been practicing this maneuver from game one.
  15. Casinos rule. The zebras follow orders. They don't get it wrong. They've been practicing this shave points, throw the game crap for years.
  16. "Offense produced without Smith". You call racking up 20 pts. producing? Eisenberg, that's laughable. We lost the game! The other team only scored 22. If Smith Sr. had played, we would have won this game. To you, Trestman is innovative with "new wrinkles". For the first time,we get three tight ends after fans have posted all season to do it. Slabbing on the icing can't hide the fact that the cake crumbled.
  17. Get use to it. It won't improve this year. When the radio announcers tell you that the defense and the special team players have to score points until the offense gets rolling, you know it won't get any worse. Maybe we can beat the Steelers again.
  18. Good game to bring up West. Jags don't have a strong D wall. Break him in. West doesn't need time on the practice squad. He's playing in his hood. That's all the incentive he needs. Allen and Forsett will get their carries. I'm eager to see what he does.
  19. All these guys have come out of the looming shadow. I was thinking that there was no one on the field except Steve Smith Sr. making plays. I'm hoping that these wide outs will grab the chance and show off their talent. Givens has to be the go to guy. I'm nervously optimistic.
  20. It's Givens all day long if only Flacco can measure his speed. This guy could replace Torry. Although I will always miss Torry Smith as I gnash my teeth.
  21. Pitta is in a long line of pro football players who had their careers cut short. My heart still goes out to Gayle Sayers. When the Bears came to Baltimore, he was a marvel to watch. No one could run the football like him. Dennis could come back next year. He doesn't have to perform the cuts through the line like a running back. I keep my fingers crossed. Go Pitta. Go Ravens.
  22. Best decision was listening to the doctors. I would have been swallowing my adam's apple to watch him perform this season. Next year, that's his decision to make. I would love for Dennis to come back. We do have a developing core of good tight ends. That's why the FO took two in the draft. Another good move in the right direction.
  23. Get West on the field. We need him in the red zone. He didn't want to play for neither Cleveland nor Tenn. Who would? He came home and will play better then ever.
  24. Better than Sammy Baugh.
  25. Don't expect to keep the lead on Tucker FGs. Try to score 6 pts in the red zone.
