  1. Maybe its not Pees. But after watching the old SB video from 2000, those guys were always trying to get the shutout. Marvin had those guys playing with reckless abandon from start to finish. Those were all close games too since our offense was so bad. Our safeties are rarely even on the tv screen before the ball is snapped.
  2. Harbs is only a front man. I think he's the manager. He discusses personnel and general schemes with his coordinators but ultimately I think he gives them complete autonomy.
  3. I agree with most. Not the Oline though. Wagner, Stanley and Yanda are very good and whoever they've rotated in at the other two spots have been ok. There's a position coach there too that needs to go if you can't put together a solid run game with the guys we have.
  4. There was no creativity. Our 5 ran into their 5. No pick or isolation or attempt to disguise the coverage. 5 went after the QB and 6 dropped 15-20 yards back in coverage. You could see Ben licking his chops before every snap.
  5. It's been every year Pees has been here. Oh, by the way, it almost cost us the superbowl.
  6. I think its the coaches. I also think Harbaugh and Pees will be back. Harbs refuses to touch the Defense unless the coordinator leaves on their own. Think Mattison. And even though I think the #2 ranking was all smoke and mirrors I think thats what they'll point to when they decide to keep him. I'm just wondering how we can expect Flacco to make sure we're up by at least 28 pts in the 4th qrter every week so we can get the win.
  7. No team should be able to go the length of the field in 1:18 to score a TD. Thats Dean Pees. He just has never figured out how to stop anybody ever in the last 2 minutes.
  8. If "In Ozzie we trust" is true then our coaching staff must be pretty bad. The question is, are there any better coaches out there? I like harbaugh but how about finding some young innovators instead of continuing to recycle these old HC failures or 20 year career assistants.i
  9. I don't think Harbaugh has ever vetoed anything. I think he leaves everything to his coordinators. Unfortunately, these guys are not very good.
  10. Last season doesn't really count does it. I try to put last year out of my memory.
  11. I think Wright is the best 3rd corner we've had for a while. He's way better than Ivy or Brown.
  12. Assuming we end up 9-7 with losses to Pit and NE. I agree. I think 10-6 gets us in no matter what. For the first time all year 10-6 seems possible.
  13. Agreed! This year the Ravens haven't played up to their potential. This was the first game that made me believe that maybe they could be competitive in the playoffs. I always want them to run more but this time I agree. When you're moving the ball up and down the field, pass all you want.
  14. Not that I totally agree, but if you check the standings, Pittsburg is on top even though we lead by at least the top 3 tie-breakers. Head to head, Division and in conference wins.
  15. They don't suck. They're outmatched. Thats a coaching issue. you just can't throw Young or wright 1 on 1 out there against Dez Bryant. Prescott sees the match-up and starts to lick his chops every time. It should never happen.
  16. Same thing again. They completely blew off the running game, Complete lack of discipline resulted in over 100 yards in penalties and poor coaching resulted in us getting caught in bad match-ups. ie, Young 1 on 1 with Bryant inside the redzone. I love Joe. But he's a qb that needs a strong running game. We're squandering his career. We should be building a team around him like he had in his first 5 years in the league. Not the last. 4 years. As a side note: No team has as many injuries or has players take so long to come back from injuries as the Ravens. Did we choose the medical staff because they're the best, or because they're a sponsor.
  17. I'm with most of you guys. There is no way Tunsil is still there at 6. But if your required to write 50 articles about the draft then why not throw this one up against the wall and see if it sticks. I would bet some teams would be chomping at the bit to trade up for Tunsil if he falls to 6. I also think the Ravens might trade up to make sure they get him if he does fall. Naturally following the "right player, right price" formula. Moving up a couple slots might not cost much, in terms of Draft picks, since the other team will still likely get the player they want. If that earlier post was accurate showing the Top 10, and the Ravens agree with it, I'm pretty happy. We trade out or take Buckner. I think we all agree that no scenario has the Ravens taking a QB, unless they think they can stroke a team that is dying for him like SD did to NYG when E. Manning was taken. I'm ok with Jack here as well. I'll say no way on Elliot. I would actually be surprised if the Ravens take a RB in the 1st round ever again.
  18. Would we really franchise a kicker? Is a tender offer a possibility? I like Tucker as much as anybody but I think he made it clear he's going where the money is. I'll also say that if he gets an offer closer to TX he'll snatch it. I hope we can get something more than a comp pick for him. Unless we can sign KO as a tackle i think he's definitely gone.
  19. Out - KO, Camp, LT, Elam, Arrington, Monroe In - Upshaw, Aiken, Retired - Pitta, SSS, Pitta is on the roster to collect his guaranteed money. It only makes sense for him to stay on as long as he can. KO will get big money like Grubbs. We can't compete. Monroe is just not good enough to keep if his contract allows us to cut him. Upshaw and Aiken are affordable role players I don't think we have any legitimate trade bait. Maybe Doom or Webb but I doubt it. If we draft high enough I see us taking a LT or a Suggs replacement. If we're in the middle, I see a corner or best available O or D lineman.
  20. The O-line coach is the same. So even with 4/5 high quality lineman we still have issues with the line. Joe has only one receiver that can get open and a blocking scheme that doesn't help the weak link. We shouldn't need pro-bowlers all over the field to have a successful season.
  21. Pees has a lot of brass saying anyone is playing tentative. What's our record for stopping anybody from scoring at the end of the half or the game? We NEVER gave up a lead before he got here. I haven't seen any creativity in our defense for years, Does anyone remember the safeties playing rock paper scissors to see who would blitz? I hear you. Hey Jimmy! Line up 10 yards off the ball and be aggressive out there!
  22. The west coast style of offense is nothing more than at least one of the coaches had some contact with the 49rs. The Ravens generally throw the ball down the field and are best when they run the ball most of the time. The West Coast offense was originally the exact opposite. Short passes that set up the run. GB runs the west coast as well as NE. But I don't see he west coast in Baltimore. Our backs don't get enough passes thrown their way and our receivers certainly don't get enough yards after the catch. Please call it something else. That's all I ask.
