I feel like only Stanley is ready to play right away, what happened to instant coffee?
you are being overly optimistic. he will play but he will struggle.
Did y'all watch the films or sit with the scouts this year? Did ya even know or hear of Flacco before they picked him? Ozzie's the Man buddy! Don't get your panties in ruffle to quick. After this year they definitely know what spots they need to fill and how will do it! Maybe this years theme should be BELIEVE!!
How about PRAYER! Cause line up the rosters and see how we compare to other teams. Cap issues every season, dumping players that helped you win those two rings (Boldin, Dilfer, Pollard) and suffering for years to get back, handing big contracts to often injured and severely injured players (Webb, Pitta), I could write a list of bust and under achieving players since 2008, unable to extend contracts of top round draft picks , never drafted a true number one receiver in twenty years. But, OZ the man? You living on yesterday
boldin dilfer and pollard... bye felicia
Look for Ozzie to land Ragland or Cyrus Jones. Both available, both 'Bama boys.
i wouldn't take jones till the third and Ragland is a huge liability in pass coverage.
Once Bosa was off the board and no trade back was in the works, it had to be Stanley. Much safer pick than Tunsil. Now the question is will the Ravens release Monroe in June to save big bucks? Can they switch him to guard?
I think that Monroe is gone.... we can use that 5 million to bring in help at CB and we addressed two positions in one swift move! Love it!
I am not sure why everybody is putting so much faith in Stanley. LT struggle in there first year in the NFL. He is going to go through growing pains. Its not realistic to think this guy is going to get in there right away and play at a high level. FA is over there are no cornerbacks worth picking up.
FA is over???... did u see what happened to Josh Norman?...we might get lucky with some cap casualties
umm im not sure if you are new to the NFL but that was an extremely rare occurrence. There are not going to be any players of Josh Normans caliber being released.

It would be nice to have gotten that flashy, playmaking corner or d-lineman that we were told we needed so bad but Monroe controlled this draft, not Ozzie. Monroe knew what he was doing by coming out with those crazy pot tweets last week knowing the Ravens can't trust him to try to buck the system and get suspended for using marijuana to treat his pain. He doesn't want to be here and after the Ravens basically saying he is done for by trying to keep KO, who would blame him. He knew he was headed out the door so he fired his last shot which forced Ozzie's hand. Ozzie may have kept him a year but with those tweets, insinuating he was going to test the system, we couldn't risk the suspension. After Tunsil's pre-draft twitter hack, the Ravens couldn't touch him after the Monroe pot issues so we ended up with the second best tackle in the 6th spot. WOW. No way in any imagination did we pick the best player on the board. Now that we just cleared about 5 mil in cap space by clearing Monroe, we will get 3 or 4 old, washed up pass rushers when they get cut by the teams they are on.
Ronnie Stanley is going to have a rough season. Assuming that the guy is going to come in and play at a high level right away is crazy. LT struggle in their first year no matter where they are drafted.
They draft Stanley over a Buckner when their main pass rushers are in their 30's and one coming off a serious injury? Mind boggling esp afyer the owner said he wanted a PR. Maybe it's time for some new people in that FO!
Buckner is overrated. He had 10.5 sacks against marginal college teams. Jernigan is a much better pass rusher. And last I checked, the draft is not over - Myles Jack, Noah Spence, Ogbah, Dodd all still on the board - all as good as or better PR than Buckner.
Yeah, I don't get it. Buckner is a 5-tech DE, which in the Ravens scheme is a run-stopping position. The rush is designed to come from the Leo (Suggs), 3-tech (Jernigan), and Sam (Doom) positions. In fact, for those clamoring that the Ravens needed an "impact play maker" at 6, I'd argue that Buckner's position is the least impactful one in the front 7.
Drafting him that high would be like taking an OG with the 6th pick. Considering how some feel about taking an LT with the pick I find this "we should've taken Buckner" talk quite silly. The vast majority of scouting reports had Buckner as a top 5 pick. One can rationalize all they want but they let the best legit DL pass through their fingers. The 49er's are already saying they couldn't believe their luck. Time will tell but don't bet more than a cup of coffee that we won't come to regret not picking him.
Buckner is overrated. He plays high and gets blown off the ball. The last two DE to come out of Oregon haven't done anything. He will be a bust.
Im not a fan of Stanley pick but I understand it. Need of Franchise LT for future.
My problem is STEVE B Screamed and let it be known "PASS RUSHERS"
So Ozzie better get a Noah SPence type Pass rusher at 36, cause Sizzle and Dum are getting OLD! Need cornerstone replacements.. in fact...probably should use picks to trade back inti the 3rd round... that way you get 2 LEGIT Rushers.
1 at 36, 1in the 3rd..like Yannik Ngkoue,Jordan Jenkins
im not sure why you think that Steve makes the decisions as the owner. He trusts oz to make the right decisions. When owner pick players things don't go over to well.

what is mind boggling is that you think Buckner is a pass rusher
Remember what the OWNER SAID...STEVE B.."Pass Rushers"
Not of fan of Stanley pick, when any number of defenders sitting there and could have traded back with Titans likeky. Lawson,Hargraves 3,Floyd, etc
I understand LT but when the owner says Pass Rush...get some Pass Rush.
Sizzle and Dum, are Old...need new cornerstones at the position starting with no.36..drafting Noah Spence,Ogbah,Chris Jones someone like that..
Then trading to get extra 3rd... and getting a CB, Cyrus Jones,Zach Sanchez etc
With other pick.. Yannik Nkoue,JordanJenkins
We are fortunate that our owner doesn't get involved with picking players. That never works out very well.
putting all of your faith a rookie LT is extremely risky. he will surely go through some growing pains.
5 minutes ago, ruebear said:I like how nobody has commented on my quote that only 2 tackles taken in the top 10 of the NFL draft have won Super Bowls in the last 20 years. Sorry, there is no saving the draft unless Ozzie finds the diamond in the ruff that nobody has taken a chance on and he changes the defense.
nobody has commented on it because its a ridiculous statement. It doesn't matter which LTs go to the superbowl. The best LT in the game is Joe Thomas and he has never been close to a Super Bowl. That doesn't make him any less of a player. It just means his team hasn't had a qb to take him into the playoffs.
Yeah the Ravens DO have an immediate need at LT. Monroe stinks. If they want to protect their quarterback investment, they had better get Stanley ready to go. Monroe was the worst graded lineman on the Ravens last year. Is that the guy you want protecting Joe's back?
where do you come up with this stuff. just because you say something over an over again doesn't make it any more true. Monroe was not even close to being the worst graded lineman for the Ravens.
aj hawk could be an option for us for 1 season while we develop another mlb already in house or through the draft or ufa. not sure what his asking price would be
hes on Cincis roster
48 hours..tick tock..
By now Im sure Ozzie and co. I have most logical scenarios ran through and who they would take.
Secondly People need to Get off this JACK Injury Concern..bridge jumping train.
For one.. several reports have contradicted themselves, second rumors(99%) Truth) is that Teams are exploiting his injury hoping he drops by flooding market with injury concerns. I know he wouldnt drop past the Giants at 10.. so his injuries are no more then teams trying to scare people..
If Jack is at 6, Ravens take him..
I think people like to forget Tunsil beat woman, jumped out of a Building and often injured himself..Too much Baggage Hello!!!
Its either..Ramsey,Bosa,Jack,...maybe Buckner..or Zeke Elliott
Ummm get the facts.... he got in a domestic dispute with his step father because he pushed his mom. It has never been reported that he had beat a woman. He didn't jump out a window his teammate Nkimdiche did.
Somewhat of cross posting from yesterday's thread, but I wanted to state again, the alternate, alternerte jersey they are pushing can/could be a good thing. I like the example above, but they could go more extreme.
The "color rush" idea is flawed. Using colors not normally present in nature is just a horrid idea, that means for most people the eye is trained to see them as unnatural and want to avoid them. The result is the intense dislike of the concept, because the solid color uniforms are associated with visual displeasure. The "keep going with it" is just following the sunk cost fallacy, throwing good money after bad because of "the investment". They should sink the "color rush" and switch to an alternate, alternate uniform. Call it the Ultimate uniform, whatever.
The Ravens seem to have the idea about right, if they want to do a special uniform game (Thursday) they need to do a radical redesign that people have a chance of finding pleasant.
i saw your post yesterday. I am not sure what you mean by "using colors not normally resent in nature". Can you clarify this.
“Injuries are muscle imbalances,” Saunders said. “They’re overuse or fatigue. How can we look at that, get ahead of it, monitor it and really try to stop the nuisance injuries?”
That is so true, it is like with an ACL, you can't just rehab the knee, you have to rehab the whole body to get the connective muscles that affect the knee like the back, ankle and leg muscles involved too. It is like with a hamstring injury, you have to have the lower leg and butt muscles all in balance with the upper leg muscles for maximum performance and to prevent an injury to the hamstring. So glad to see a revamp of the training and conditioning program...it is about time!
i believe the word you are looking for there is glutes

Lacy when he first arrived he drastically had an impact with a balanced run and pass game as A. Rodgers made the defense play honest and A. Rod capitilzed on it with RB Eddie Lacy selected as the 2013 Offensive Rookie of The Year, the first Packer chosen for the award since RB John Brockington in 1971.... That same year i begged for ozzie to get lacy or even L. Murray ( rated 6th round) drafted by raiders who had great season of !,000 yard season last year and jumpstarted D. Carr for their fist win against th K.C.defense rated #1 with no rushing TD's on a primetime thursday night with a 93 yard tdburst from L. Murray (4.37 40yd dash) ... murray had another td for 20 yd or more...didn't draft him... last but not least Leveon Bell.... wow i wanted him the most and he ended up as a second round who had the best RB year 2014 and was the one i wanted the most ....all 2013 RB's ...regardless if we needed them with ray rice there before the mishaps we need to grab this best player and that means making moves to get em... Who did we grab in the first round and move up in the second to get? Matt elam and A. brown ....smh
none of those stats have anything to do with Henry. Yea Henry put up some stats at Alabama but every back from Alabama puts up stats especially behind that offensive line they have. Henrys stats in particular are inflated because the guy got handed the ball a whopping 400 times. There is just no way that there is any way to justify calling Henry the best player in the draft. Yea stats tell stories but if stats told the whole story there would be no reason for a scout to ever look at tape. The tape tells the complete story and if you watched tape on Henry you would see he only gets what is given to him by his blockers. He is not going to extend runs into the secondary, his pass blocking is suspect, and he doesn't have great hands.
forget the needs of our team.... I thought Ozzie Newsome drafted Best Player.... i say if you want the best player you make moves to get him..... We Need a eddie George of the new era on the ravens. please ozzie hear ya boi out from the west coast... My Friend Derek Carr is killing with the raiders....Reggie Mckenzie came down here with Mark Davis and HIs coaching staff and got him in the second round...they haven't regretted since.... Derrick Henry is the best player in the draft over Ramsey, Jack, Elliot, Goff, Wentz, and Tunsil ....
Derrick Henry is not even close to being the best player in the draft. he isn't even the best running back in the draft. The guys is a thumper and just gets what is blocked for him. He isn't making anyone miss. I suggest that instead of looking at the highlights (highlights make everyone look like an HOFer) try watching an entire game. Some people don't even think he is the second best RB.
I don't like this signing. Ravens already have to split touches between Foresett, Allen, West? and LT. Add Richardson and young guys you drafted get even less touches. Richardson probably will not play special teams so he's just a short yard option. No matter how small the contract is there are other places to spend money to make an impact.
Trent Richardson is 25. He was star at Alabama and 3rd overall pick. LT is more injured than not and played at East Coast Carolina. Please there is no comparison. If he plays like his rookie year or like he did at Alabama it is a win win for the Ravens. It isn't a lot of money we are paying him and there are no guarantees he makes the team. What if Derrick Henry is there in the 2nd?
Richardson did nothing in Cleveland or Indy. He is available for a reason. Pour money down the drain. And if you are talking about often injured players include Campanero, Webb, Monroe at better position to upgrade than RB which you are already 4 deep.
he picked up 950 yards and 1317 yards from scrimmage in his rookie year.
Permian grew up with a knee disorder, he may always be injured:-(
his knee disorder had absolutely nothing to do with the injury he suffered in training camp last year
5 hours ago, Fastynart said:This is a no brainer. You take the LT if he is there, period. Your quarterback is where your money it. If you don't protect his blind side, you are dead no matter how many defensive ends you have. If Flacco is left with that awful Monroe there, he is going to get creamed and the Ravens will go down with him.
fastynart you seem to trash Monroe on a pretty regular basis. I mean i get it, the guy is hurt a lot. But if you knew what you were looking at and knew anything about playing left tackles you would realize that Monroe is a top 10-15 tackle in this league when he is playing. So go for it question his dedication to the game or his toughness but realize that he is a decent left tackle when he is playing. If you can't see that I would be happy to teach you about the position.
So..... the Eagles were in discussions of trading up to the number one pick??? And the Cowboys (Jerry is going) are headed to Berkeley this weekend to see Goff. Hence, 2 Quarterbacks will be taken in the top four picks. Thus, guaranteeing the Ravens, one of the top 4 defensive players or OT Tunsil.
if anyone is taking a second quarterback its going to the the Browns not the Cowboys
I completely agree about the Browns. But, if they decide other, the Eagles (through trade) or Dallas will jump on Goff.
well heres to hoping they all take QBs

name a left tackle in the past five years that has excelled in his rookie season. since 2010 the only one that really played well was Matt Kahlil. Interestingly enough he has gone down hill since then. its a huge transition. i am not saying he won't eventually play at a high level but he will definitely have some growing pains his rookie season.
