Conklin and Decker have first round grades. There is no way they make it to the third. Spriggs has a second round grade and with his impressive numbers at the combine its not likely he will be there in the third either.

The salary cap is what makes football so competitive. Every team has the chance to spend the same amount of money. In baseball the teams that have bigger fan bases are more likely to win because they can spend whatever they want. In football anybody can win it. A team that is ranked last in one year can make the playoffs the next. This is why football is great. Its tough to be a small market team and be competitive in baseball. Especially in the AL east where the Yankees and Red Sox have absurd amounts of money to throw at players.

Jimmy is steadily developing into one of the best corners in the league... hey, I hope you're right and he does become one of the best corners. It is just that last year he regressed which isn't a good thing. Surely he was hampered by an injury but he regressed none the less. His injury history is also pretty concerning. Hopefully he has an injury free offseason and comes back better than ever.

He did only play 4 games at Lt but he did play there in college. It was expected for him to play "just average". Just imagine how he will be with all mini and training camp and practices. He will be a beast there as he was at guard IMO. Either way I just don't see keeping him a gamble. Well nobody thought that signing Webb was a gamble either. Really anytime you sign a player to a long term deal with a lot of guaranteed money, it is a gamble. But it is especially so if a guy you're giving left tackle money to has only played four games at left tackle in his entire career. And yes he did play there in college but the speed of the game is much higher in the NFL especially at the pass rusher position. Im not saying the guy can't do it. Its just that it is a bit of a risk. What he does have going for him though that has nothing to do with his physicality is that he is extremely intelligent, not Urchel intelligent, but smart enough to know what he's got to do to be successful.

Keep in mind that KO played LT vs four VERY good defenses, (Seahawks, Chiefs, Steelers, and Bengals). For someone who trained the entire off-season and practiced during the season as a guard, he did a heck of a job. I think an entire off-season dedicating towards playing LT will do wonders for KO. KO played tackle at Iowa as well so its not like it is a completely unfamiliar position so the strategy and techniques to play the position are not lost on him. If you go back and look at the tape, not only did he play well, he dominated and did so quite easily. He rarely struggled with some of the strongest pass rushers in the NFL. Clearly, the Ravens staff, who is trained to see exactly what I saw, made a choice based on that analysis and they know far more than me or 99% of the people who comment here. If Ozzie thinks he can do it based on his history and what he saw in those 4 games, then I think he can do it. In OZZIE I trust. Easily is quite a stretch, but he did dominate at times, especially in the run game. The vine in the article below is an example of KO letting James Harrison cross his face on an inside move. I did take a look at some tape from the Cincy game and he really did improve this aspect of his game (still a bit stiff but its not as if he couldn't get the job done). I feel like signing Osemele to big left tackle money is a huge gamble. Yea, he played there for four games last season but his play was average at best. The guys kick slides are stiff and look far from natural. He was also was susceptible to the inside move because he let defenders cross his face. It is possible with more time at the position that he will get better at these things, but it is big risk. I am just hoping he can live up to the contract (if he signs) and we don't have any buyers remorse like we do with Webb, Smith, and Monroe.

To all of those who are against this, I would like to know how this could possibly hurt us? its not like he is getting huge guaranteed money. At worst he brings competition at the running back position and gets cut in training camp. No harm no foul. Or is there something I'm missing here?

Its in his best interest to shop around and take the best offer. Im not sure why you think that could hurt him in any way.

We still have Zuttah you know, who is an upgrade from Urschel. Urschel's versatility as a back up though, should suit us well.

You're kidding me right? Which one of those guys is supposed to be a "bargain"? Martin is seeking in excess of $7M PER YEAR, Ivory is seeking probably $4-5M a year, and Forte is an aging RB who could cost easily that much. There's no guarantee Richardson even makes the team (in fact its likely he won't), and he costs like 1/10 of what these other guys cost. None of the players you listed can even vaguely be considered "bargains" based on price tag alone. I can agree with those projections for the most part. I just think we can get a Richardson in the draft for 1/4 of the cost. Personally I think we carry too many backs. Yea we have a lot of backs on the team right now, but obviously that number will be down to around 4 (including fullback) when the season begins. And four is a perfectly reasonable amount of backs to keep.

Im hoping Maxx can make a big leap in his sophomore season. He is athletic and has great hands, but what I first noticed about the guy is that he didn't have an NFL body (the same can be said for Carl Davis). Im sure he is hitting the weight room (Hopefully he is doing whatever Crockett did. I can't be sure but, I think Crockett gained 10 to 15 pounds between his rookie and soph season). It will make his cuts more precise and he will become a bit more explosive. A little work on his routes and he really could be a huge contributor next season. I was really impressed last season with his hands (he really made some spectacular catches last season.

In all fairness, CJ Mosely was just as bad in pass coverage and he's almost 10 years younger than Darryl Smith. and I can't see how CJ can fix that. Either your fast or your not. Pass coverage as a middle linebacker in particular isn't all about speed (not that it doesn't help). Its about reading and anticipating routes. In Daryl Smiths first year with us he really showed a knack for jumping routes (3 ints, 18 passes defensed, absolutely ridiculous stats for a LB) and I can guarantee he was not any faster than Mosley is now. On intermediate crosses and digs, middle linebackers don't really have to move all that much to be in position to make an interception. Now if the tight end runs a seam route, or the running back runs a wheel route, and the middle linebacker is the only guy in coverage, yea you need speed for that. But the good middle linebackers are good not because they are the quickest guys, they are good because of their instincts.

The best player from the 2013 Draft has been Brandon Williams our 3rd round pick. My point was we can't keeping whiffing on our picks. I agree 100%. Additionally I think Perriman should tweet what meals he's eating throughout the course of each day so that we know he's eating a sensible diet. Maybe even a good night tweet is in order. The last thing we want is him not getting a good night sleep which would obviously place him at less than 100% while working out. Hell, he should hire an assistant to follow him with a drone and shoot it out on Periscope so we can simply track his every move. this is great
