  1. I'm sure maxx will get your message. he is a big fan of reading the comments section on the ravens website.
  2. I won't knock the guy for advocating for legitimate marijuana usage. In fact, I'd support it, because when you really look at the actual facts, its silly why its still treated the way that it is. That being said... not really a great look for a player who is consistently injured and has had his work ethic in his profession questioned. Not a great look for a guy who is facing legitimate and tough competition for his job. I understand he's still in the medical protocol due to his injuries, so I'm not going to bash him for doing this instead of showing up to OTAs. I'm just saying that from a public relations standpoint, this isn't a guy people want to be hearing this from. Its a great cause to advocate for, and I support that, but at the end of the day, if he doesn't start focusing more on his actual career (professional football player), he won't have it any longer. And when that happens, literally nobody is going to listen to him advocate for NFL policy changes if he isn't in the league anymore. Has his work ethic been questioned? Im not saying it hasn't, but the only place that I have heard anything negative about EMs work ethic is by commenters on this site. Is there a more legitimate source that backs up that claim? I may just be out of the loop on this one.
  3. I think part of the reason the Ravens went with Stanley over Tunsil was that he is a more plug-and-play guy, whereas Tunsil has more talent and athleticism but needs development and also needs to show what RS already had shown in college; i.e. the ability to stand tall against premier edge rushers. I think Monroe is gone. Ravens are going to get that money back, and I think Monroe knows this which is why he's felt free lately to be vocal about the cannabis thing. He wouldn't be so outspoken, I think, if his future with the team were questionable. "call me naive" lol nice touch bioLarZrebiec you have got them mixed up. Tunsil was more pro ready than Stanley We didn't take Tunsil because of his off field stuff and his inability to stay healthy for an entire season.
  4. it is illogical to think that just because players have money they will abuse drugs and it is ridiculous to think that if they smoke marajuana they will become drug dealers. Marijuana is rarely addictive and when people do get addicted it, it is a phycological addiction rather than a physical one. What is truly addictive are pain pills which are opiates like heroine. People would be much better off if they prescribed medical marijuana and did away with those addictive pills or as some like to call it heroine for the suburbs. But my main problem with your statement was the progression from people who have a lot of money, to marijuana abusers, to marijuana dealers.
  5. "and if you have money you will find ways to get more than prescribed, and then they will end up selling the stuff, and we all know where that leads" absolutely ridiculous statement, such an illogical progression.
  6. you must have a short memory because Eugene had never mentioned Marjuana before January. I know its popular to say Monroe was awful when he was on the field but that simply is not true. When Monroe did play during the last two years he did a fine job.
  7. agreed. Ray is a great motivator for certain kinds of people. If you have ever played any type of sports you notice that guys like to do different things to get ready for a game. There are those ra ra guys that like to but heads and scream (Ray would definitely be good for them). But on the other end of the spectrum there are guys that get ready for a game by meditating while visualizing what they are supposed to do during the game. And of course there are guys everywhere in between those two extremes. Usually the guys toward the quieter side of the spectrum are thought by fans to be soft or not in the game. Which is just not true at all. There is this same spectrum for the people doing the leading. Some are screamers and others like to talk to each player individually to make sure their head is in the game. There really is not a correct way to do it.
  8. I mean I see both sides. On the one hand, from a football spending perspective, cap spending is all that matters. So, from a cap perspective, its kind of hard to justify letting him go, unless there's a significant player you would want to spend that money on. Given we will likely have space to spend if we need it and that any FA signings at this point are largely of the "bargain" variety, that's likely not an issue. On the other hand, as a business owner, paying $6.5M to a guy who ideally won't even play for you is a tough expense to swallow... especially when you have the option of not paying him. In the grand scheme of things, probably just a drop in the bucket for the organization, so that's probably not a factor. There's also, in theory, something to be said for if Stanley wins the job outright, not having to look over his shoulder at what would easily be the best backup LT in the league. If he wins that job, the FO could show extreme confidence and support in him by cutting the high paid guy he just beat out. Ultimately, I think he stays, but the only scenario that surprises me is Stanley not being a starter at some position. Monroe being cut, traded, benched, or even the starting LT for 16 games wouldn't surprise me in the slightest. I think it is going to be tough for Stanley to beat out Monroe (unless Monroe is MIA like last year). Don't get me wrong I would love to see Stanley starting over Monroe, but it is rare for a rookie LT to come in and play at a high level.
  9. looks like the Dan Brown hype train is picking up steam again
  10. zero percent chance that he plays ILB. not a good idea
  11. FYI there is a ZERO chance that Wagner loses his starting position as the RT, he was ranked top 5 at his position last year. he was rated as the number 2 RT two years ago. Last year he didn't even crack the top 20. people have said that he regressed because he was nursing an injury the whole year a. Hopefully he can get back to form this year.
  12. You mean the same pff that rated Rodes #9 and Culliver #10 the year prior.., https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2015/02/13/sig-stats-ypcs-cornerbacks/ Then rates them 102 and 111 the next year... https://mobile.twitter.com/PFF/status/672899009292460032/photo/4 I'm sorry but I honestly don't take PFF too seriously. its actually a pretty good way to evaluate players. its not perfect but there is a lot of data that goes into those numbers.
  13. By who? You know he only played 6 games last year in a new system on a defense with literally no pass rush.... And he earned himself a 8 mil per year contract the year prior. That's a link to his Instagram page. Read the comments by PFF
  14. When you don't notice a CB for 20-30 then he's doing his job well lol hes no J.Smith but he'd certainly give S.Wright a run for his money. That's correct. His biggest knock is his injury proneness. That's alsowhy we can afford him his biggest knock i that he was the worst starting cb in the league
  15. i hope not. culliver was rated as the worst full time CB in the league
  16. Well first off Jesen steps into LG before Urschel, as Urschel is the backup C at this point. No need to risk injuring your backup center, a key position by playing elsewhere, except maybe in a pinch. The starting offensive line will be Stanley, Jensen, Urschel, Yanda, Wagner (l to r) within a year or so IMHO. Pretty solid group. Monroe I see being released once Stanley steps onto the scene and Zuttah I see them parting ways with at some point as he's getting up there in age. If Urschel plays better at LG, he gets the job. You never sit a superior player on the bench just because your afraid of injuries, and want him as a back-up. Makes no sense. If Monroe comes in and has a good camp, would you just get rid of him because you drafted a new guy? I don't think so. If the team decides that it would be prudent to release him for cap reasons, that's a different story. But if he stays healthy and can contribute, I think they'd keep him around. It also depends on how Stanley looks during camp and pre-season. If he seems overwhelmed, the Raven's are not going to throw him in at LT protecting Flacco's blind side. jensen outplayed urschel last year
  17. what does drafting an OLB have to do with the status of an ILB
  18. the sky is falling
  19. What a terrible comparison. Correa is much more athletic and has a lot more burst than John ever had.
  20. The jury is out on Josh Norman anyway. He has one good year in a scheme that suits him. We don't run that same defense you know. Plus, even if we had wanted him he would cost a fortune and we couldn't afford him. A team is not made by 1 player. And yeah, you can find starters like that. Hello there Daryl Smith, hello there Elvis Dumervil, hello there Steve Smith Sr., hello there Chris Canty, and that is just in recent history. umm hello there we signed Elvis, Steve, and Chris in early March. Ill give you Daryl though. Picked him up in June, but to my point, none of those players were cut after the draft.
  21. I find him overrated. Good run stopping ILB, but terrible in coverage. Not sure that's the kind of player we want. Naturally, we will probably take him. i was glad that buffalo traded in front of us. i was worried oz was going to take him
  22. You do know that free agency isn't over and after the draft teams make a WHOLE lot of cuts due to cap space and whom they get in the draft. Some really good players get cut due to age, money, or coaching philosophy changes. Ozzie's had a pretty good track record of picking up some good guys this way. yea roll players not starters or stars. there will be no josh normans available.
  23. I can tell you hands down that Myles Jack would of been the steal of the draft at #36 and contention for DROY.. I can't say that for anyone we drafted.. yea you can say that but you have no idea if that is going to be true
