  1. i also cant help but wonder if you poo pooed the brown, elam, and brooks picks when they were made.
  2. and butler won't make any teams 53 the entire season
  3. prop because manny lawson hasnt played a game in high school, college or the pros at ILB
  4. I'm sure you have watched plenty of tape on Reynolds to decide that he should have played QB in the NFL, but all 32 teams saw his best chance at RB and WR. But you're probably right you aren't one to make knee jerk reactions very often.
  5. Maybe I am. But I'm prity damn sure someone will give something for Brooks. I'm not asking for a first but something. Anything. I also believe that Forsett is also worth something and maybe even A.Brown. im not saying we get a whole new draft from them but it just bothers me that we got absolutely nothing for any of them. my only logical explanation is that Ozzie is contaminating the waiver pool so we can get a few players ourselves. No one is going to give us anything for a undersized safety who has never started and rarely played, an ILB who rarely played, and an over the hill RB who was injured most of last season and has had one good season in his nine year career. Other teams haven't been able to trade guys with a lot more talent and value than the three guys you mentioned.
  6. That would be hard to justify. Sitton would be an upgrade over Lewis for sure. But not a big enough upgrade to justify paying him six to seven times as much as Lewis is earning. And yea we have the cap space this year but the guy is going to want a long term deal. I also have a feeling that there will be teams willing to pay him much more than we would.
  7. What's baffling to me is that we didn't even get any value in return for anyone! Not even a 6th or 7th for Brooks. We just cut 5 or 6 very good players that other teams will now fight over. I'm shocked to say the least. you are overestimating the value of these guys. No one in the league would give up any draft picks for any of the guys that we cut.
  8. He has to be better than average. He is okay at a lot of things, but great at none of them. He is a poor mans Kamar Aiken and with Kamar on the team he becomes redundant. He doesn't have any qualities that are unique.
  9. Im alright with the Forsett move I just feel bad for the guy. Its going to be hard for him to get on another team. He may have to hang up the cleats
  10. Butler is a poor mans Kamar Aiken. Nothing special about that guy. He does nothing especially well.
  11. i think your desire to keep some of our players on our practice squad has clouded your judgement. Your proposal is beneficial to the team, not to the players. A team can only sign a practice squad player from another team if they intend to put him on the 53 man roster. Your proposal to stash players on the PS would prohibit a player from signing with another team and getting a chance to contribute right away. It would also prevent the player from getting a huge pay upgrade. A team who signs a practice squad player is required to pay that player for three weeks even if he is waived before the three week mark. The only way that team A can add a practice squad player from team B to their practice squad is if team B has cut the player and he passes though waivers. A player can choose to remain on their current teams practice squad and refuse to sign with a team that wants to put him on the 53. This rarely happens though because the pay raise and chance to suit up on game day is tough to pass up.
  12. its probably a bit unrealistic to think we are going to get anything for Kapron.
  13. Yea they really hyped him up. Since there is no contact in OTAs it is really difficult to access how a player is doing. This is especially true will Linebackers, DL and OL. i think of a lot of that praise was directed toward his mental capacity. It seems like he really picked up the defense pretty well and knew his assignments. That not as easy a task as it may seem. I mean Art Brown hasn't been able to pick it up in his three years here. I am not an expert on the guy but Ive heard that he didn't play much inside in college, which will take some getting used to. Things are much more crowded in the middle and it takes some time to learn to instinctively read and react to your keys with all of that traffic. The Ravens played him sparingly. He will burst into action during the season/ They will put him in there on some passing downs but Orr has really been impressive during the preseason. He will be the clear starter. I would like to see them move KC around though. Sort of like the role Mcphee had. I wouldn't mind seeing come off the edge a few times either.

  15. Kruger is just not a very good athlete, and he never has been, but being 30 makes him even slower. His pass rushing moves are just so mechanical, there is no fluidity there. And you have to remember Kruger looked like he was going to be a bust for us in the first three years of his career (he's only really had two good seasons out of the seven that he has played). He only got a chance to compete in his fourth year because Suggs was out. The overwhelming majority of his sacks come when the cornerbacks have locked down the receivers, and the QB has to hold onto the ball. The guy is persistent, but I don't really see him as a major upgrade over anyone that we have.
  16. I simply cannot fathom this being a blessing. Gilmore has had his issues with staying healthy. Maxx seems to be rarely available and when he is, he seems like he's still very much in need of further development. We have no idea what we really have in Pitta and he's still in a position where he has a far greater chance than the average player of going out for the year in a flash. Watson was the clear starting TE. I can think of a lot of words that better describe that than a blessing. i think you may be overreacting a bit
  17. Never want to see anyone get hurt but this is a blessing in disguise. All of the Tight Ends on our roster have better speed, size, and athleticism than this guy. It was a head scratching decision to pay what we did for him. I mean the guy is only 6-2, he is 35 (slow), and has only surpassed 500 yards in a season three times in his eleven year career.
  18. nah player switch and sign auto\raphas a lot after the game \
  19. its ridiculous to evaluate which one is better now. the have only played two preseason games. 28 snaps is nothing.
  20. you are joking right? you don't quite on your number one draft pick in year two. there is too much invested in him.
  21. "direct the attack against the run" what in the world does that mean.
  22. Impressed with John? You are clearly one to jump to a conclusion. A copy and paster of a PFF stats kinda guy, wonderful. Thanks for the regurgitation of another site but i can access their site just fine if i cared to. If you need me to dispel your pointless ramble even further when you are using useless ratings(such as in this case) keep in mind the left side of the line was in disarray from week one. i.e: sample size. Google it please it would greatly benefit your reiteration and comprehension of someone else's work. Oh, it sucks for the members here who are qualified to evaluate interior linemen on a television set are stuck at their cubicle's posting here. They could be earning that living grading them linemen it lol OHH drew.. i gave you those stats because I was sure that you wouldn't believe that I was qualified to evaluate centers. And if you really know anything about PFF you would realize that, sure there are flaws in their calculations, but their evaluations, especially when it comes to OL, are pretty much on point. You see they did what I did and watched a taped game of every offensive series that Urschel played and for each of those plays they gave him a grade. Its pretty straightforward really. And when you watch, as I said before its is blatantly clear that he is over matched. There is no grey area to this fact} The reason I could tell that you weren't qualified is because if you did watch the tape as you said, and knew what you were looking, you would very easily come to the conclusion that he was over matched. I am sure you have played a lot of two hand touch in your day drew but I played Division IAA (feel free to tell me that I don't know what I'm talking about because I played in the FCS) collegiate football. As a freshman I played back up center and from my sophomore year to my senior year I started at right guard. So yes I believe that I am qualified to assess interior line talent. Poo poo PFS all you want Drew but it really is the best metric to evaluate O lineman.
  23. Glad you got what I was saying chief! Accordingly, if you get one TD catch&run against 3rd tier defense you should pretty much be considered the greatest thing since sliced bread. At least that seems to be the way some folks are reacting. I'm guess I'm just surprised that some people have their heads so far up their butts, there was nothing so great about Allen's performance in first game, stop writing about it. Let the kid keep grinding and come back with strong game next week, then preach about it. i wasn't being sarcastic
  24. I'm not so sure of that and I do think Zuttah is a spare at this point... Yea I am pretty sure about it. To be frank, there maybe around five people on this site that have experience with, and are qualified enough to assess an interior lineman's ability. It is clear that you are not one of them because you are so impressed with John. Which is also strange because I would be willing to bet that when you watch the Ravens offensive series you're not watching John on every play (because really no one does that), but to give a proper evaluation that is what one needs to do. John gets a lot of publicity from fans because of his brains. Jensen out played John last year. Not by much but he was clearly the better interior lineman, and you never here his name because well... he's not a math genius. If you focused on John at any point last year when he was playing it would be painfully obvious that he is overmatched. His strength is just not there. And if you don't believe me maybe the "experts" will sway your opinion. "Center John Urschel (-4.4) has now graded at -9.9 over the past three weeks, and gave up a sack, three hits and three hurries yesterday." https://www.profootballfocus.com/pro-sea-bal-grades/ "The only troublesome spot on the line is at center, where the eigth-ranked Jeremy Zuttah is being replaced by John Urschel, who has a pretty average ranking by the agency's standards." http://www.baltimorebeatdown.com/2015/11/21/9773538/pff-review-season-ravens-football-ratings-profootballfocus
  25. Urschel might have the brain to play center but, against bigger NT and DTs he would get man handled at the point of attack.
