  1. This especially true with our track record. The games are always close this year and for much of last year too.
  2. i haven't read through all of the comments yet so I may be repeating some things. It was a terrible decision. That is two weeks in a row. He needs to own that. And what could make it worse? On 3 and 10 on or around the 15 (I'm not exactly sure but i think this is pretty close) you choose to RUN it straight up the middle??? And... yea just read an article from a national sports news organization declaring it the most obvious fake field goal attempt ever and they're are right. I am sure they ran this in practice and I can't believe there wasn't a coach around to tell Rosberg or Harbaugh that this was a terrible idea. Or for that matter a player. I am sure Tucker questioned it, maybe not verbally, but certainly in his head. This is total speculation and I have nothing to back this up but I wonder sometimes if John has surrounded himself with "YES' men. Did they really think that the Skins were not going to see Tucker lining up wrong. There were plenty of other missteps in this game but even with those, we would have been able to take it to overtime. To go in on Mosley, and not take responsibility for it, is just ridiculous. I would have felt a little bit better, not much, but a little bit better if he came in and said that was on me and it was a bad call.
  3. Harbaugh and Trestman should let him scheme up a few plays. I realize that being a mathlete doesn't automatically qualify you as being someone who can come up with plays, but it couldn't hurt to ask for some input. People that are that intelligent usually have a different kind of thought process than most. It would be nice to come up with some innovative plays of our own, rather than making minor changes to the inventive plays that Belichick used the year prior.
  4. I am in the same boat as you. Whats the story with Urschel? He is a better center than Zuttah but is being ignored, he is better than Jensen at guard and he is being ignored. He has been a full participant in practice but inactive during games. My theory based on Harbaugh; Urschel must be in the doghouse. He must have studied too much math over the summer and not football and that ticked off Harbaugh, or Urschel may not play special teams which you know ticks off Harbaugh, or he is an NFLPA rep that routinely busts Harbaugh for breaking CBA rules and ticks off Harbaugh. If he was hurt, like earlier I would buy into his being inactive, but he has been practicing at full bore for over two weeks now and has yet to be active. There is something going on here, what it is ain't exactly clear. But I have a feeling based on previous history with our head coach. He is not in the "doghouse". He has just been beaten out by better players. Both Jensen and Lewis have jumped him on the depth chart. They are much stronger at the point of a attack (Urschel was on skates when he played last year) but as others have said Urschel couldn't do any worse than Jensen at this point. I am not sure how you (or anyone else) came to the conclusion that he is better than Jensen and Zuttah. Is that based on last years performance or pre season? He was absolutely terrible last year. Jensen and Zuttah were clearly better than him then. There seems to be some revisionist history about his ability as an interior lineman. All of the publicity hr has gotten in the offseason seams to have made people forget about his poor play. I mean its a great story but being a mathematician doesn't make you any stronger or more athletic.
  5. This ridiculous. all of the these five step drops (no play action which wouldn't even work because were not running the ball) with a scrub left tackle against an OLB (Mack) who is one of the best in the game. And then, when I thought things couldn't get any worse a flea flicker?!?!?! A play that takes the longest time to develop. They are pinning their ears back. This is the type of play calling an OLB or DE dream of. Joe needs to get Trestman straightened out, and the Joe needs to get John straightened out, for not straightening out Trestman earlier.
  6. My bad man, I didn't think "having the case of the Modays" was a mean thing to say. Its a joke from office space. But I really am sorry if it offended you. Unfortunately you rarely post anything that is "factually constructive" (its most your unsupported opinions which is fine) People give you factual information all the time, but thats not going to change your opinion. I could give you stats, pff grades, websites explaining position responsibilities in a 3-4, or any other type of tangible information that goes against your statement, but you will continue saying the same old things. An example of this is your comments regarding CJ Mosleys coverage ability. On at least 5 separate occasions during the offseason, you posted pretty much the same line about CJ whenever his name was brought up in an article. And it went something like this.... Cj Mosely is terrible in coverage and there is no way that he will ever be good in coverage because he is just not fast. You're either born with speed or your not. After the second time you posted something like that I tried to explain to you why being fast has nothing to do with the coverage ability of an ILB. I told you about all of the ILB coverage responsibilities and I even gave you the name of an ILB (Daryl Smith first year with us) who excelled in coverage even though he was much slower (at this stage in his career) than CJ Mosely. But it didn't phase you, you continued to post the same thing 3 or 4 more times. There are pleanty of other times where the same thing has happened. There are very few "factually constructive" words in any of the things that you post and thats okay.
  7. My friend, I am not a doctor, but I believe you may be expierencing a case of the Mondays. Being that it is Saturday, a day when catching a case of the Mondays is exceedingly rare, I suggest you notify your doctor immediately.
  8. Yea, my bad, I was being a bit sarcastic in response to fusuymada. He thinks that Oakland is a "black hole" and that KO has "sour grapes" because he is on a terrible team. He also seems to think that KO is a big jerk for taking the money, and that all KO should care about is super bowls. All of which is ridiculous. They come in at number 2 in total offense and towards the end in total defense. We come in at number 2 in total defense and come in towards the end on total offense (can't really put to much weight into those number as we have only played three games) . Its going to be a really good match up. If a team in the NFL has a good quarterback they are always going to be in the playoff race and will never be an easy win (assuming Carr doesn't regress at any point). And you cant forget about the players that they have picked up in the top five the last couple of years. Amari and Mack look like bonafide stars. I also don't think their defense is as bad as it has looked, but I also think the same thing about our Offense. I think I am going to wear gloves while watching this game, so i don't gnaw of a finger. Its going to come down to the wire.
  9. Yea we were really close to beating Oakland last year and this year it should be a cake walk. Oakland is a terrible terrible terrible team. It really is selfish of KO to take the money. Players need to focus on winning Superbowls, not getting paid. If a guy has played in any pro sports leagues at any point in his life time, he set for life. And injuries are never a problem in the NFL. Even if KO does sustain a career ending injury on Sunday, he won't have to worry about is finances because all of the money in that Oakland contract is guaranteed.
  10. Yea, James Hurst did a much better job last year than Eugene could ever do. And what about Urchel. The guy played lights out last season. His awful PFF grade last year was a bunch of banana fish. PFF is bs anyway. And lets not forget about Rick W. The guy was rated as the number 2 tackle in the NFL two years ago and he continued his dominance last year even with an injury.
  11. executed that one perfectly,he even pulled the two llineman towards himself to make sure they hit ground.
  12. its ok.. I don't take stuff personally Weew, glad you feel that way because what I did was seriously out of line and also offensive. I can assure you that I won't interrupt conversations between two people on this board again. Consider it a lesson learned.
  13. Yeah, a hidden gem. I like to think it was a well executed plan, not an ad-lib move. This way or that, it was a great one. it would be interesting to see if he did it on any other field goal attempts that day. it sure was one heck of a play.
  14. that was brutal, took me the whole week to get over that one. I think that they won just about as many games as we lost that season.
  15. Incorrect..... The comments came after Ramsey speared Smith in the back during a scrum on the field. I was there. Ramsey went after Smith and said "I got you"... Steve went back at him then and said "I'll see you after the game". It started way before that. Ramsey needs to be careful. This isn't the first time either... when you're on a team that is 0-3.... just sayin. He didn't shut Smith down either. Watch the video of Steve's 23 yard catch and run. wow!! it must be pretty cool to have seats so good that you can hear what the players are saying. Thats awesome.
  16. I was thinking the same thing. To be honest I am not an expert on special team play calls, so really I couldn't tell you with 100 percent confidence that, that play was an original invention by the ST coaches. But I have never seen anything remotely similar to that, in any field goal blocking scheme (if anyone has I would love to know about it). This type of creativity and innovation is what separates your good coaches from your great coaches. Hopefully some of this original thinking will rub off on Trestman, and all of the other coaches for that matter.
  17. That doesn't negate the fact that at least 2 of his penalties were drive killers! thats a valid point
  18. I was discussing his penalties and missteps with another member. Oh I'm sorry, I thought when you said, "I can't believe the penalties and such with Yanda", that the phrase "and such" was implying that Yanda was experiencing more problems than just his penalties. I was just pointing out that his play minus the penalties has been really good. Sorry for the mix up.
  19. I can't believe the penalties and such with Yanda. You're correct. What's going on? He has been the highest rated RG in each of the first three games this year.
  20. i am not sure if this means anything to you but, Yanda has had the highest PFF grade of all right tackles in the league for EACH of the first three games. I know a lot of people in these forums think that PFF is bull but IMO its a pretty good way to evaluate players. This is especially true with the OL. There is a link below that describes how they come up with those grades. There are certainly flaws to the system but there is a lot of data that goes into those numbers. That said I do agree that Yanda has stood out during the this season than others. I think a big factor to that may be the penalties. https://www.profootballfocus.com/about/how-we-grade/
  21. On another note how terrible were those broadcasters. Whenever they mentioned a player or a unit they were always either the best in the league, top 3 or top 5.
  22. Pass blocking too. Joe rarely had a clean pocket. He wasn't able to step into throws a lot of the time. I wouldn't mind seeing him role out a few times. Stanley and Lewis are doing an admirable job for rookies but there is a lot of pressure coming from the left.
  23. He had two rec for nine yards but you're right the TDs make that stat line look much better
  24. So switching a back doesn't allow continuity between a back and the OL but swiching OGs is fine? Everytime you put the guy in the D would know it is a run. I am not familiar with the new rules that you speak of. What are they?
  25. Forte had 30 carries for over 100 yds. with a couple of receptions too. We'll have to contain Forte. Thats not really all that impressive of a stat line. Its only 3.3 yard per carry.
