  1. Are you kidding, what has he done. All everyone keeps talking about is how smart he is, that doesn't translate to the football field, he's not a road grader. Use your mathematic analysis, put it to use on the field. Let him go so that he can pursue his PH D at MIT. He's getting his Ph.D. in less than a year. He doesn't need to be let go. He's been solid for us as far as I can remember. James Hurst tho..... you haven't been watching the games. or maybe you're watching the games and not watching Urschel. He is a turnstile
  2. I bet he could have blocked better on that touchdown attempt that Kyle. That was a sorry attempt. As usual your limited knowledge of football has led you astray. You don't use a guy who is 6'5"as a lead blocker. It would be too easy for a defensive player to get low and under his pads. Not only he DB 6"5" but he also has an upright running style which further disqualifies him from playing fullback. http://www.dummies.com/store/product/Football-For-Dummies-5th-Edition.productCd-1119022630.html
  3. Juice keeps his feet we get in the end zone on that play. That was frustrating to watch.
  4. i would take another look at that. The receiver doesn't know where T West is going while the defender is staring right at him. When the guy your blocking for is in front of you there isn't much you can do to spring them.
  5. Yea but do you think that is going to give us a shot at competing for a Super Bowl. Most likely a trade of this kind (if you are spending a 2nd 0r 3rd) you are going to get the guy for two to three years tops and you are going to have to pay him a boat load. You would take him instead of a Timmy Jernigan, or Brandon Williams for four years at a really cheap salary. I am also not ready to give up on Maxx Williams, Carl Davis, KC or Brendon Kafusi. Although KC does get thrown around like a rag doll when he's out there.
  6. The problem with John and Ive said this amongst friends for years now is that he has the exact same temperament as his brother, but he tries to hide it at all costs. There is nothing wrong with that temperment as they have both been successful in their careers. The difference between them is that Jim knows he acts like a jerk and is not afraid for people to see that side of him, but John tries to hide it and it is only seen from the public when the chips are down (or leaked as in the mutiny situation). And this almost two faced personality becomes insidious.
  7. Who would you be interesting in trading for and what would you be willing to trade. I mean bringing in one good player isn't going to make this team that much more competitive at this point. And to get a really good player your talking top draft picks in rounds 1-3. I am not willing to give up those picks. Maybe, if I you thought we were one great player away from making a Super Bowl run, but I don't think anyone thinks thats the case. And Kniles Davis??? cmon man The packers could have waited another week and picked him up off waivers. He has a total of 1 carry this year for -2 yards. Its a ridiculous argument, which seem to be your calling card in this forum.
  8. If only we capitalized with POINTS. smh.... You know what has seemed to be forgotten/overlooked (maybe people just haven't talked about it because it is so infuriating) on that drive because of the hullabaloo surrounding the missed fake field goal? It was 3rd and 9 on Washington's 14 and we RAN the ball. Hand off to T. West right up the middle.... We lost three yards on the play. C'mon man take a shot at the end zone.
  9. AGREED. Orr has done his thing for sure. Let's see if he can continue to step up in Mosleys absence. That hit on Matt Jones that caused the fumble in the second quarter was a thing of beauty. Absolutely flawless technique.
  10. what do you mean when you say "mathematically status wise"
  11. Where did you find those stats about leading the league in injuries in 2015? I have a friend who is a NE Patriots fan (I am not proud of this) who said that he heard a stat quoted on the radio that stated that the Patriots were the team that suffered from the most injuries last year. This could be right but we haven't been able to find any statistical data to prove or disprove that.
  12. Well, if it had worked, everyone would be praising the play, it just didn't work out..... I personally have no problem with trying a few potential "trick plays", sometimes they work, sometimes they don't, but I would also prefer we have more points on the board when trying these types of plays ?? So my problem is not with the trick play, it is with the design of the play. When a right footed kicker lines up as if he is going to kick with with his left foot the element of surprise is lost. The special teams is going to know that something is up. Soi also would like to hear Harbaughs reasoning for the design. There may be something that I am missing that could possibly justify the play design although I am not sure what that would be. Thats all, but I don't have a problem with trick plays now and then.
  13. Totally agree with you here. When you have starting players missing it is the coaches responsibility to game plan knowing that these players will be gone. I feel like Trestman did a terrible job of this especially in the game where Hurst and Jensen were starting. So many five step drops. Joe was getting nailed. The defense needs to be kept honest. Running the ball is extremely important in these instances. And the flea flicker is a play that takes such a long time to develop. I think Joe took the hardest hit of the season on that play. I was really worried for him in that game. Hurst essentially is a turnstile. Hopefully we won't have to rely on his services in the future.
  14. Has Hardbaugh been asked or answered any questions about that fake field goal. Specifically the fact that he had Justin line up as if he was going to kick it with his left foot which really was a dead give away. There are not many left footed kickers in this league and I can guarantee that when a team is facing a left footed kicker everyone on the field goal unit knows it. Its not like it is a huge difference but there are minor changes players on the FG cover unit make when facing a left footed kicker. So it would be difficult to come to the conclusion that the way Tucker lined up would go unnoticed. Has Harbaugh explained why he thought this was a good idea? I mean I think the Trestman move was long overdue, but two questionable decisions by John over these last two weeks have really hurt this team. I am not saying that he should belfried but, he needs to be accountable. I know he said he didn't regret the play call, but I am interested in his decision making process in the design of that play. Thats all. Has he been asked about that or answered that question?
  15. Um I will say that I do agree with you on the whole depth chart issue. That was really weak argument. I shouldn't have even brought it up. The terms "starter" and "first stringer" are not synonyms. They have two totally different meanings and you seem to have used them interchangeably. A starter by your definition is someone who starts the game. A "first stringer" is the player who is the teams FIRST choice to play a certain position. A second stringer is a player who is the teams SECOND choice to play a certain position. When you said "The only second stringer playing in the 1st half was Urschel" that was incorrect since both Lewis and Urschel would be considered second stringers, as neither of them would be the teams first choice to play those positions. Then when you said "In the 2nd half, there were two second stringers with Urschel & Jensen at the guard positions along with 2 starters playing out of position", that was also incorrect. Urschel, Jensen, Yanda, and Lewis would all be considered second stringers. And the second part of that statement contradicts your definition of starter ("if you start the game, you are a starter no matter the position you are playing"). Lewis, Zudda, and Urschel all started the second half at the same positions they started the first, which would make it 3 starters and not as you said 2. And you have further contradicted your definition of the of a starter when you said "playing in the 1st half was Urschel, with 4 starters and one playing out of position". But by your definition Urschle would in fact be a starter. And what you are saying about switching positions is also hard to justify Yesterday Mike Pierce played some fullback which by your definition makes him a first string fullback because he "flips positions". In a pinch Yanda could play all five offensive line positions. This does not mean he is a first stringer at all of those positions. There is no one who believes that Anthony Levine is our first string middle linebacker just because he plays there in certain passing situations. It is impossible for a player to be a first stringer at multiple positions in any singular phase of the game (OFF DEF ST). All that said I reread my statement that I sent to you this morning and it was certainly had a nasty tone which was wrong of me and I apologize. I can be a bit of a grumpy gus in the mornings..
  16. i would tell you to go look at the depth chart. A player can not be a first stringer in two positions. It is not possible. And you may not realize this but there is a big difference between playing guard and tackle. You may have been able to do it in your two hand touch league, but it is not that easy in the pros. In fact depending on your personal very often on most depth charts you will see that first stringers are listed as second stringers at other positions. If you are going to start a sentence with What? Wrong! you should probably be sure that you are right.
  17. Lewis and Reeds time was up and Krueger? Krueger? he had one good year for us. His first three years he barely got any playing time. He went to the Browns in 2013 and had a terrible year (and got paid a ridiculous amount of money) and then in 2014 he had the best year of his career, 2015 another terrible year and got cut. The guy was not a very athletic DE and we thought he could play OLB?
  18. Well he has one less drop than both Steve Smith and Dennis Pitta and I can assure you that they are getting paid way more than he is. He has also caught some balls that were way off target. That was clever though.
  19. I'm sorry, I meant for that question to go to the other member. I'm not really sure how that happened. I completely agree with you and I figured out the answer to my question http://stats.washingtonpost.com/fb/playerstats.asp?id=28414&team=33. He has dropped a total of ZERO catchable balls this season.
  20. I think he looked VERY good considering he just got back in, what, Week 1 or 2? He didn't even work out in OTA's or Camp. Give the guy time. It's week 5, which means he has what, 3 weeks in??? Give the guy a break. That was NOT an easy catch. You saw Torrey not get his foot down and miss many more that were so much easier. If he was not a first round pick he be gone. how many passes has Perriman dropped this year?
  21. yea he ran a 4.45 in 2011
  22. Like terrorism/ISIS? I can assure you Popeye that I am fully aware of the real problems facing this world.
  23. this may or may not matter to you but the OL started 2 second stringers in the first half and 4 second stringer in the second
  24. I think you would be more credible if you had a better grasp of the english language
