I don't think we would pick up Dawson. We have already drafted 2 olbs in this years draft. And iJoe will never be able to "live up to his contract" with a bad OL.

You are able to come to that conclusion by looking at a few game tapes of those guys, reading scouting reports from the experts, and looking at mock drafts? Making a statement like that with the limited information that you know about these players is ridiculous. And your second statement supports that argument as well. Youre basically saying that drafting Pocic was the only way we would be able to protect Joe next year which again is absurd. Especially because a lot of big boards have Eiflen as the best C in the draft. You cant just read an article about Pocic and decide thats your guy. There are a lot of good O lineman left in this draft. Orlovsky would be another solid pick. The best rookie lineman last year played guard through out the entirety of his college career but moved to center with the bears and has a really good year. Filling the void does not necessarily mean we have to get a guy that played there in college.

And right there is the problem. I think the problem is that people actually think that they have a good grasp of all of the movers and shakers in the draft when that is clearly not the case. Being worried about taking a guy that you haven't heard of is just not a logical reaction. Fans are privy to 1/100 of the information that teams have on every single player in the draft. But the players that get talked about most are the guys that are projected to be first rounders at anytime in the last year. All that said I don't think this guy was obscure as people are making seem. I can't see us beating either the Bengals or the Steelers. With Garret and Peppers on the Browns defense, I don't see Flacco beating the Browns either. We are in for a very long season this year and if it does it doesn't bode well for John Harbaugh. This is great...after one round of the draft it has apparently become obvious that the Ravens will go 0-6 in the division next year, especially because of 2 players Cleveland selected. How in the world did the "awful" and "talent-less" 8-8 Ravens go 4-2 against these same teams last year? Solidifying their secondary with Jefferson, Carr, and Humphrey so far in the off-season truly must have been a waste of time. And there will be no help added in the rest of the draft or the remainder of the off-season, so let's just sit back, Raven fans, and hope they lose enough to obtain the 1st pick in the draft next year. That said when looking back at the comment it is hard for me to understand how anyone (with an adequate command of the English language) could come to the conclusion that you came to. I would suggest that before writing a condescending remark describing someone as "brilliant" in a tongue and cheek kind of way, that you make sure to read the comment over a few times, to make sure it says, what you think it says. Again im not minimizing the difficult life he has had or the passing of any of his family members as I have said before. My point has nothing to do with that. My point is that this guy attends the first round of the NFL draft and he knows that there is a fair chance he is going to get drafted. In anticipation of this he brings a picture of his grandmother which is nice gesture. I have no problem with any of that. I have a problem with him immediately going up to a camera and proceeding to shout aggressively at it. And then he turns to Deion and in an even louder voice he says "Come on Man". He then proceeded to turn up the volume a bit more and say G D. He then turns back to the camera and shouts a few aggressive lines about getting to the QB. And then in the interview he again says another obscenity (the one that starts with F). There is nothing for me to get. My problem has nothing to do with his past. It has everything to do with the moment that he was on stage last night. You are trying to justify the fact that this guy aggressively barked obscenities at the top of his lungs into a camera that broadcast his actions to a nationwide audience (including kids) because he has had a difficult life. "That type of passion and motivation is what breeds great football players" And with regards to your assertion above, there may be a correlation between a difficult upbringing (to serve as motivation) and great football players but it is not a causal relationship.

Well you just proved my point. I am not saying that being a ra ra player isn't good thing. Ray was great at it. My argument from my previous comment was that, "There are some people that think that ra ra bs has a direct correlation with better performance/skill level". To break it down what I am getting at is that being a ra ra guy has absolutely no bearing on the skill level of a player. There are plenty of guys who aren't vocal who are great players, and there are plenty of guys that are vocal that are not great players. And as i mentioned before you proved my point by sighting Ben Boulware. He is a ra ra guy but isn't a great player. He is projected to be taken in the 7th round and very well could go undrafted. I am not minimizing his loss and clearly I am in the minority with my position on this. It just seemed over the top to me and like it was more a publicity stunt than anything else. It is odd to me because he seemed angry which isn't an emotion that I could see manifesting itself when paying homage to your grandmother.

Allen and Foster were both taken way later than they were projected to be taken. And that was a direct result of injury concerns. And the fall down the board clearly shows that the Ravens were not the only ones concerned about the injuries.

This is the comment I was responding to. "Last season our d-line was about as non-factor as it's ever been in our team history" Its a bit hyperbolic dont you think. If he said the DL was a non factor in the passing game I would agree with that.

There is a good chance that Boulware doesnt even get drafted. And if does get picked it will be in the late rounds.

Why do you believe that J Allen fell so far? Some experts projected him as a top 5 pick. I mean the guy dropped to 31. And clearly we weren't the only ones that were worried about that.

I think for Allen it was an injury thing which made him fall after being projected as a top 5 guy. Howard is the best overall tight end when looking at both blocking and receiving. Although I don't think that he is the best receiving TE in the draft and thats what we are in the market for. We have plenty of TEs that can block and we have spent a lot of draft resources on that position in the past few years. As far as overall athleticism and big play ability I think both Evans and Njoku surpass OJ in those categories.

Yes but there were at least 8 players higher in he board. Best player available, guess not. Well you have made the assumption that the Ravens board looks like the board that you are referring too. I am not saying definitively that he was the bpa because really we don't know. But I think it is possible that both Allen and Foster fell down their board because of injuries.
