  1. "It takes hard work, everyday to make it in the NFL. Some young guys don't make that commitment right away (or never). It's easy for a young player to get drafted, have a pocketful of money, hang with your boys and not put in that hard work everyday. Word is he showed up not in shape in Cleveland, didn't put the work in to get into shape and didn't take learning the playbook seriously. Tennessee gave him a chance but if you play 2 games and have 2 fumbles in 16 carries, that's not going to endear you with the coaches.

Also, looking back, having Bernard Pierce as your mentor may not have been the wisest choice.Hopefully it's just a maturity issue and he will get his head right or he ends up as just another tale of wasted talent."

Thanks for the info. Makes sense to me. Perhaps a word or two to the wise is sufficient in this case.

  2. I would swap the Ravens for the Patriots. Just joking--The Ravens are not a bad team. They have always been in games, they are tough and they are pros. I am not sure what they need player wise but perhaps better communication among defensive backs ( will come the more that they play together) and a pass rusher. Go back to the pre-season games which everyone says are meaningless and you will see the same problems on defense. Looking forward to the Cards. The Ravens at a minus 8 or 10 are you kidding me? The Ravens are not he Jags.

  3. The game kind of confirms what I have observed about the Ravens. They play to the level of their competition and make mediocre QB's look like HOFers. I rarely bet on football games but after watching this game, its clear that , whoever plays the Raiders, will beat them by a lot this Sunday. Also, with Perriman--he's been out for 8 weeks. In pro-football that a long time. My guess is that he has a serious injury. However, you are drinking the cool-aid if you believe that he will make a huge impact this year. We shall see.

  4. I wondered about Babin's release. I found this info interesting. "Obviously, it was a surprise," Babin said after his first practice with the Ravens on Wednesday. "I think the coach said they want to win. But then in hindsight ... the general manager talked about building. Who knows what is exactly going on?"

"Babin, 35, produced two sacks and 27 quarterback hurries in 2014, which was his first season of a three-year, $8.275 million contract with the Jets. New York saved $1.5 million against the cap by releasing him." They must have thought highly of him to sign him last year for 3 years.
