  1. This is a good schedule compared to last year with the West Coast games. The NFL isn't Pop Warner--all teams are tough. The Ravens W's & L's will be determined, among other things, by injuries as in the past--same for their opponents. Want to be a champ? Go beat the other guy , whoever and where ever you play. End of story. Looking forward to this season since this is the " wait until next time".
  2. What is your take on this prediction?

    6. (PROPOSED TRADE) New York Jets (from Baltimore Ravens) – Jared Goff, QB,

That would drop the Ravens down to 20th in the first round and I am not sure a player they covet and think that highly of will be around by that time. This also relies heavily on Goff being there at 6 which I think might be a stretch.

The logic behind it is sound. Jets need a QB, Ravens don't.

If Bosa, Ramsey and Tunsil are gone then it makes sense to move back. Guys like Spriggs, WJ3, Spence etc would be available at #20.

We aren't trading back now that the Rams moved up. We're guaranteed Tunsil, Ramsey, Bosa, Jack, or Buckner. All great picks at 6.

  3. I don't know anything about the draft choices being touted as being in the top 10. What I do know is that the draft is usually a toss of the dice. Also, what is the track record of the draft gurus that are most frequently cited? I remember Walter Football's prediction about Mosely was overrated and he gave the Ravens a poor overall draft grade. We'll see.
  4. Stunned - Forget football--Hope that he makes it.
  5. Joe needs a line for time to throw deep.
  6. What will the NFL do about that hit? Dirty hit
  7. According to the article "The good news is, win, lose or draw, Baltimore is %u201Cessentially locked into%u201D a top-10 pick at 99.9 percent" A team/ organization establishes itself as a winner is more important than always getting high draft picks. So what if the Ravens pick 5th or 10th they will only be as successful as the judgment of their front office.
  8. If he defends his hit --- says loads about his judgment. As I recall, this isn't the first bonehead play that he has made. Apparently, based on his response, more can be expected.
  9. Gets open, fights for the ball, and won't drop any-- hope he plays.
  10. Is Clausen that much better than Renner? Clausen has had more game experience and is a vet. I suppose that's important but Renner knows the offence. I wonder if he has stayed in condition--he may be getting an opportunity. Hope they give Dan Brown a longer look in this game. The Ravens D will come to play. This game will be closer that people think.
  11. The Ravens will be allowed 14 men on offense. That should help us.( as per the monitor's admonition--just adding a bit of levity). I will bet on the Ravens --either taking the 11 and 1/2 pts. or take them straight up not ATS depending upon the payout. The Ravens are pros and can stay with any team, even when they are battered. BTW Purple kool aid is my favorite drink.
  12. I love the cool aid as well as anyone but a "star" and being released?
  13. Bad call by the official--period. Play Dan Brown.
  14. I don't know Nick but if he were my grandson I would say disappointed is a better description of my reaction.
  15. Stupid--what else is there to say?
  16. The Ravens simply need more time to gel on offense because of the personnel changes. Time is fleeting but it make them interesting to watch.
  17. BTW one of the "experts" predicted that the Dolphins and their new OC will run the ball against the Ravens which will be the deciding factor in the game. One can only pray that Miami sticks to the run--at least I am.
  18. Gee, with so many "experts" picking the Dolphins , I wonder why we are playing at all. I also wonder how many of them back up their selections by wagering on their selection. The point spread when I made my selection was Ravens 4. I'll take that every time.
  19. "Your Kidding...Right?" Of course and that's my point. Schaub came in and did a decent job. Flacco has made crucial mistakes as well as great plays. He's not Joe but he is a good backup as he demonstrated --when was the last time he started a game? Ravens made a smart move to get him, contrary to what many on this site said when he was signed.
  20. Schaub threw pointless interceptions on Monday. I don't recall Joe ever throwing "pointless " interceptions or missing open receivers.
  21. Regarding the draft picks; New England ha been more successful than the Ravens. Their draft picks? 2009 No first-round draft pick 2010 27 2011 17 2012 21 25 2013 No first-round draft pick 2014 29 2016 No first-round draft pick
  22. New England draft picks 2010- 2015 No first-round draft pick [32] 2010 27 Devin McCourty CB Rutgers [33] 2011 17 Nate Solder OT Colorado 2012 21 Chandler Jones DE Syracuse 25 Dont'a Hightower LB Alabama 2013 No first-round draft pick 2014 29 Dominique Easley DT Florida 2015 32 Malcom Brown DT Texas 2016 No first-round draft pick [34]
