  1. Great comment and thanks for the video. Moore looks like the real deal.
  2. How do you " pull the trigger" when the other guy isn't willing to deal? Takes two to tango and Jerry wasn't dancing.
  3. Probably true, but l would take Jack over Correra at this point. ? Jack is rookie of the year--- see, I told you so Jack is out of football with a knee problem -- see I told you so. Ever try to get travel ins. with a pre-existing condition?
  4. Overall I would give this draft--- nothing since no one on this thread can predict the future. How come we go through this song and dance every year when it is a farce. However this nonsense is encouraged because it maintains fan interest, and keeps us going until training camp. I am sure that the Ravens will field a competitive team as usual and I, for one, can't wait until these draftees come to camp. Then ,after the season, we will have the hype again on the draft, disagreements who should have been picked and we grade the draft again through the immediate personal prisms. Ain't the beer cold.
  5. Ever try getting travel insurance if you have a pre-existing condition? Jack had a big time pre-existing condition( by his own admission. Reynolds not so much. Oh, ever hear of R. Staubach?
  6. Agreed. If Jacksonville really wanted Jack that badly, we should have gotten more from them. Same for Miami. How do you know what was offered and what was taken? Part of the problem today is that people who have never engaged in sports negotiations seem to have all of the answers even though they are not privy to the actual negotiations.
  7. No mocks, big boards had Conklin ranked above Tunsil either. 2013: Spence suspended for failed drug tests 2014: Spence kicked out of conference for more failed drug tests. 2014: Attended Intense Outpatience Addiction treatment 2015: Arrested for Alcohol & Disorderly Conduct That's the player you want to gamble a 2nd Round pick on especially when he gets a big pocket full of cash?? Stanley is a franchise LT. I don't know who you think the Ravens could of drafted that would be JJ Watt, Dez Bryant or Adrian Peterson (Btw, those guys have only seen the Super Bowl on TV). Buckner? Please - Correa had more sacks than him in college. Shaq Lawson? Stanley dominated him in college. Jack is going to need another major knee surgery soon and he's yet to even take a hit from an NFL player. Sure his game tape BEFORE his knee injury looks good but is he even the same player now? Frankly, I find it difficult with commenters like you who insist on using facts to support their views. What is this world coming to? ( Actually , enjoyed your post- good job)
  8. Actually, according to this morning's Sun paper, the Ravens tried to trade up with Dallas to get J. Ramsey but were rejected because J. Jones thought that the R's were going to take Elliott --confirmed by Ravens and Cowboys. It takes two to tango.
  9. I agree. The player , being honest, levels about his physical condition. I take him at his word. If I apply for an life insurance policy, wonder what the insurance co. requires for one to buy a policy at a reasonable cost? Why shouldn't professional sports teams do the same?
  10. I guess there were also guarantees associated with guys like Downey and RGlll. I always wonder what is the cost is when a fan " guarantees something.
  11. Next year-- scene1-- Ravens fans " I'm glad we took Jack, he's playing great" scene 2 -" why did we take Jack, didn't we learn a lesson with Perriman?" I believe its called second guessing of Monday Morning QB but hey, that's what fans do. We make mind bets since the only thing that you can lose is your mind.Like, I would never have taken J. Downey or RGlll. I would have taken Brady in the 6th round though.
  12. Bottom line-- You do not get to that level without a tremendous competitive spirit. Also, my point is that most don't know what they are talking about when it comes to the draft because they are simply repeating whatever is said and repeating rumors about prospects. I really don't care who the Raven select because they are the pros who watch and evaluate talent. BTW how do you know that he is " an extremely smart player"? How do you know that his athleticism will make up for his stature? You don't. Also, the size analogy, there are exceptions to any rule but by and large size , speed, stamina etc, matters in the NFL.
  13. There you go again-- making a good point. My comment was not directed at the selection of Alexander but the hype surrounding the selection of these players and the fact that no one really knows how they will turn out. Mike Preston on Ed Reed "Ed Reed will probably become a good player because the Ravens have a pretty impressive draft record. The selection of Ed Reed allows them to move Gary Baxter, a second-year player drafted in the second round, from safety to starting cornerback even though Baxter is slow coming out of his backpedal."
  14. You are correct in your analysis of my comment. Actually, if we adhered to what I posted then we wouldn't need to draft anyone, However, many " experts" are not sure as to what he brings to the table. A " highly competitive" player-- how exactly does one make it to the NFL without that quality? Alexander's is 5' 10" thought to lack size but appears to have good coverage skills. My point ( poorly made) was that each year we drink the purple cool-aid because it's that time of year. Oh, here is a typical reaction when the Ravens drafted Elem. "I'm not quite sure what their referencing to when they say, "he lacks urgency to his game". I watched every Florida game last year and this guy is a stud. Granted I didn't watch the "tape" on just him alone, but he is and will be big time. I know people may scorn me for this, but I think he has Ed Reed potential and intangibles. Whoever drafts him will be quite pleased with their pick."--
  15. Absolutely. I am tired of hearing how great this guy is over another. Why is he better than others that we already have? Go for Spence not Alexander, IMO.
  16. He is a CB and Elam is a safety but both are the same size, speed, hard hitting, and no int's. Don't believe we need another Elam.
  17. Why Alexander?
  18. Miles Jack's statement is would make me pass on him.
  19. I do not believe that any of the draft prognosticators have looked at the possible draftees as much as the Raven. Everyone has an opinion but few have the facts about these players. Smoke screens always seem to appear about character issues, desire to play, toughness, and whatever else commentators conjure up or simply repeat what others have said. I am sure that the Ravens have done their homework for this draft.
  20. I remember when Elway said that he wouldn't play for the Colts ( I was a season ticket holder in 1958 and years following. Never liked Elway or Denver since--long memory. I'm glad that I didn't say what I was feeling. Whew! I agree with you on your choices. Thanks.
  21. I am hanging my head for being so gullible although I am still laughing at myself.
  22. Heavens, you might be correct. I did not check the date on the article. I just did--you are right! I feel like a real dummy. Thanks for pointing it out to me. I am still laughing. No fool like an old fool.
  23. My guess is Ramsey but not Bosa since SB Nation has reported that he will hold if drafted by the Ravens.
  24. Just read an article in SB Nation that reported that Joey Bossa will hold out if drafted by the Ravens. The reason given--he harbors resentment toward Jim Harbaugh and Michigan. I wonder how accurate this story is. Certainly the Ravens are aware of this development.

Hmm, where I'm from we only joke on the first of April. Anyways, glad to hear there's not going to be any drama (potentially) drafting Bosa.

  25. All Aiken does is make difficult catches, plays tough, and never complains. He deserves it and will be even better this year.
