  1. OTA video showed Butler catching three passes, more than any other receiver in the video. And they looked like nice catches. Remember last year and he was supposed to be catching better than Aiken and Campanero. I remember trying to guess with everyone else who would be redshirted and it was him. He could be flying under the radar right now. I just know there are going to be really tough decisions to make by the coaching staff this year....

  2. lol. Optimist? Actually, I'm quite the pessimist....at least as far as the Pats are concerned. I realize the nondisclosure agreement is supposed to be sufficient to deter blabbing. However, a little added incentive of cash, etc on the sly, otherwise known as a bribe, to me is well within the realm of what's possible by someone in the Pats organization. An optimist would be someone who believes that a non disclosure agreement would be enough to prevent this keg of dynamite from blowing up. Sure, the threats and reminders have probably already been made about non disclosure. Grease the wheels with a little extra incentive? Also, aren't repeated bribes the foundation of this entire fiasco, bribing with jerseys, shoes, etc.. Yeah, guess I am a pessimist. I prefer to call myself a realist though. LOL

I think that eventually the cheating will all come out from tuck rule to deflate gate. They (the cheating Patriots)  say that filming was a 1 on a scale of 1 to 100 and that deflating the footballs was like 1 on a scale of 1 to 100 (we'll see when the fumbling data  comes in), so that means by their logic they will cheat and risk so much just to get the tiniest advantage. If they are willing to do that for so little, what won't they do? What  else are they doing that gives them an even greater advantage that we don't know about?

If I were McNally I would be worried about them sending me to Belize and write it all down and give it to various people to be released if I mysteriously dissappear or something happened to me. My guess is they call them Boston brakes because it was invented there or used a lot there.

One thing is for sure, some ex employee will eventually get offered enough to spill the beans on the whole show.

  3. Deflategate: 1) We have a 20,000 word rebuttal from the Patriots. 2)According to the Patriots, "deflate" refers to losing weight (their words not mine) and 3) Goodell will hear the case. I work in a high school and I've seen all of this before. The names are different but it's the same gig. Brady is the typical high school kid who screwed up, the Patriots are mom and Roger Goodell is the Vice Principal. I don't know how it works in other high schools but in mine, Brady is toast. (and no I'm not the Vice Principal)

I would only say that deflate referring to losing weight is slightly more believable than Brady saying that he didn't know McNally.

  4. I hate the pats more than I hate the steelers, however, even I can't deny that NE is easily regarded as one of the top class organizations.  Cheating aside, I'm willing to state that not much separates their organization from ours in terms of how it's run to be a perennial winner.

Yeah, just ignore the whole cheating thing, because that is totally not involved in how they run things up there and has no Part in being top class or not.

In other news, the Patriots would really like everyone to forget about them cheating because they are totally being victimized by the NFL for catching them cheating.

  5. The Patriots Ravens game was also influenced both times on the comebacks by not taking the usual TV timeout and letting the momentum subside or letting the Ravens defense rest. Highly unusual for them to not take the TV timeouts. Bizarre even. It was like they found a way to gain the effect of turning the lights out without turning them out and in a way few people even noticed. Magic trick to keep the Ravens down. I know a rabid patriot fan who was at the game and said that in all his years it was the weirdest game he had ever been to.

  6. Sami, Marlon did have a few times be was off route and Flacco didn't know which way he would go. Knowing Joe, from his revealed comments wants receivers torn precise routes, I think Marlon was off on some but he is getting better and that was obvious. I think he will shine this year. Steve is not here just to catch balls but to help mentor and change the Ravens receiving corps into physical Ravens players, change the culture and that is difficult to do and he has done it along with Bobby. I would love to see him back one more year next year too. Can't say enough about good Steve Smith senior, natural Raven. But back to Marlon, I think Harbs is dead on. My only worry is that the Ravens will have to make serious choices about how many receivers they can keep after camp. Odd for traditional Ravens teams but potentially interesting and even amazing if the QB whisperer works his magic. Interesting.

  7. I hope to see Goodell hand a very severe punishment to #12 and the organization with at least 4 or more games suspension, losing a draft pick or two and heavy fines. Anything less than that would be a slap on the wrist. Punish #12, he tarnished the AFC Championship game and likely games before that.

No, anything less than docking the Patriots less than 25% of their cap space each year for the next five years is too light.  Don't fine them, don't take draft picks, just take away 25% of their ability to maintain a competitive balance for the next five years. That would send a strong message not to cheat.

  8. Jets game they were talking about Brady had 58% completion rate with higher pressure footballs. Brady has small hands. So does Garappalo...

Page number 20 of the report (page 24 of the pdf) is damning of the Patriots which says they didn't cooperate and are guilty of conduct detrimental to the league for failing to cooperate with the investigation. That fifth interview they denied and said was too much was requested because Wells team just got the texts from the phones and wanted to ask McNally what they meant. So Goodell has the means and proof to harshly go after Craft, the team and Brady just based on them failing to cooperate. We can only hope he punishes this serially cheating team harshly to stop the culture of cheating.

  9. The thing that excites me the most for the new WR class is that they have Steve Smith Sr there to teach and mentor them. I don't think there is a better WR player who embodies how to play like a Raven (he is a natural Raven). Plus for those who caught it, Perriman said that in addition to being and playing tall, he likes to play like a short wide receiver too because they have unique skills (I'm paraphrasing here) but the key for me was to hear him state that he knows that there are many skill sets and he likes to incorporate many types into his game. That is incredible maturity and wisdom for his age. I'm sure his pop and Michael Irvin had something to do with that, but the man had to have it in him to realize and understand that is something to develop in the first place. I'm really excited about his potential.

  10. This pick left me with an identical feeling I had when we drafted Mosley. Not very thrilled and somewhat bummed. However, boy was I wrong! I am hopeful I am just as wrong about Perriman as I was about Mosley! Go Ravens!

Me too (but not about Mosley) . I freaked out, I focused the drops. There is just something unsettling about the Ravens taking offense in the first.  Read that scouting report on Andre Johnson that BmoreB posted, eerie how similar they are, that changed my whole perspective.
